Tiga - DJ, singer, producer, radio maverick, man of eight talents -- unleashes his brand new single 'Plush' December 17th via Different Recordings / PIAS.
Taken from his non-stoppable new mix CD Tiga Non Stop, the single was co-produced by Matthew Dear, starting as a freeform jam session and ending as something that works equally well as an underground club anthem and literally everybody's track of the year. It also features what Tiga is privately calling his greatest vocal performance to date.
"'Plush' was inspired by 80s dance TV shows like Pelvic Gold and The Bandana Patrol, as well as my undying love and respect for the city of Detroit," says the Montreal musician from his home in Montreal. "It's the first of what I know will be many collaborations with Matthew Dear, a sort of musical friendship bracelet that will bind us unto eternity."
As is the custom in contemporary dance music, Tiga handpicked and handpaid UK legend Jacques Lu Cont and German duo Ame (Kristian Beyer & Frank Widermann) to create two remixes of the new track. Drawing on his alleged stint as Madonna's choreographer, Lu Cont pumps up the tempo for the biggest rooms you could possibly imagine. Meanwhile Ame aims for a more minimal, hypnotic approach, sure to enthrall the geniuses who frequent Germany's hottest underground dance holes.
One of the most inexhaustibly creative and exhaustingly revered musicians in electronic music, Tiga has consistently garnered as much critical acclaim as anyone could reasonably hope to garner. Two decades deep into his career and going for it like each decade could be his last, he remains a pioneer of the electronic underground.

New Album Set for Release in Early 2016
Following the massive success of “Bugatti” and his first string of live performances, Tiga is preparing to release his first album Counter Records (a Ninja Tune imprint). “It’s a natural fit - I’m the original Counter. I count RESULTS. Advantage: Tiga City,” says Tiga.
“Seven years is a lifetime, especially for lifetime full-time dreamers like me. Entire fantasy worlds have been loved and lost. Restaurants have opened and closed. I’ve taken the spiritual advice of those closest to me and chosen to remain inside the present, listening and growing until there’s no choice to spring out of the box and share my gift. And that gift is the simplest of questions and answers. What is love? It is what it is, and what it is is it’s everything."
Tiga to Play First Live London Show at KOKO
On November 21st, Tiga will bring his acclaimed “Tiga Live” show to KOKO, marking the first time the Montreal entertainer has treated London fans to his unique blend of cutting-edge set design, soaring vocals and Jori Hulkkonen.
“London is incredibly important to me. It’s where I first heard The Beatles, and they also make very good dance music there,” says Tiga. “After conquering the festival circuit, I’m beyond jazzed to sing and dance in a club setting. The restroom lines are much shorter, which I think will make the set noticeably tighter in terms of costume changes."
New Single “Don’t Break My Heart” Out November 21
Co-produced by Clarian North (ex-Footprintz), “Don’t Break My Heart” has already staked its place as the emotional climax of Tiga’s already climax-heavy live show.
“The same world that has given me everything breaks my heart every day-ay. But if that’s the price I have to pay-ay, I wouldn’t have it any other way-ay. I can’t stop singing everything I say-ay.” says an exhausted Tiga, tears of song-sweat streaming down his natural singer’s face.

Tiga - DJ, singer, producer, radio maverick, man of eight talents -- unleashes his brand new single 'Plush' December 17th via Different Recordings / PIAS.
Taken from his non-stoppable new mix CD Tiga Non Stop, the single was co-produced by Matthew Dear, starting as a freeform jam session and ending as something that works equally well as an underground club anthem and literally everybody's track of the year. It also features what Tiga is privately calling his greatest vocal performance to date.
"'Plush' was inspired by 80s dance TV shows like Pelvic Gold and The Bandana Patrol, as well as my undying love and respect for the city of Detroit," says the Montreal musician from his home in Montreal. "It's the first of what I know will be many collaborations with Matthew Dear, a sort of musical friendship bracelet that will bind us unto eternity."
As is the custom in contemporary dance music, Tiga handpicked and handpaid UK legend Jacques Lu Cont and German duo Ame (Kristian Beyer & Frank Widermann) to create two remixes of the new track. Drawing on his alleged stint as Madonna's choreographer, Lu Cont pumps up the tempo for the biggest rooms you could possibly imagine. Meanwhile Ame aims for a more minimal, hypnotic approach, sure to enthrall the geniuses who frequent Germany's hottest underground dance holes.
One of the most inexhaustibly creative and exhaustingly revered musicians in electronic music, Tiga has consistently garnered as much critical acclaim as anyone could reasonably hope to garner. Two decades deep into his career and going for it like each decade could be his last, he remains a pioneer of the electronic underground.
"This song comes 100% from a universe 1000% my own. I don't mind being thought of as 'The Different Guy,' so long as all the right people love me. And they do, because it's their right to be right all night, a'ight?"

Tiga - DJ, singer, producer, radio maverick, man of eight talents -- unleashes his brand new single 'Plush' December 17th via Different Recordings / PIAS.
Taken from his non-stoppable new mix CD Tiga Non Stop, the single was co-produced by Matthew Dear, starting as a freeform jam session and ending as something that works equally well as an underground club anthem and literally everybody's track of the year. It also features what Tiga is privately calling his greatest vocal performance to date.
"'Plush' was inspired by 80s dance TV shows like Pelvic Gold and The Bandana Patrol, as well as my undying love and respect for the city of Detroit," says the Montreal musician from his home in Montreal. "It's the first of what I know will be many collaborations with Matthew Dear, a sort of musical friendship bracelet that will bind us unto eternity."
As is the custom in contemporary dance music, Tiga handpicked and handpaid UK legend Jacques Lu Cont and German duo Ame (Kristian Beyer & Frank Widermann) to create two remixes of the new track. Drawing on his alleged stint as Madonna's choreographer, Lu Cont pumps up the tempo for the biggest rooms you could possibly imagine. Meanwhile Ame aims for a more minimal, hypnotic approach, sure to enthrall the geniuses who frequent Germany's hottest underground dance holes.
One of the most inexhaustibly creative and exhaustingly revered musicians in electronic music, Tiga has consistently garnered as much critical acclaim as anyone could reasonably hope to garner. Two decades deep into his career and going for it like each decade could be his last, he remains a pioneer of the electronic underground.

On November 21st, Tiga will bring his acclaimed “Tiga Live” show to KOKO, marking the first time the Montreal entertainer has treated London fans to his unique blend of cutting-edge set design, soaring vocals and Jori Hulkkonen.
“London is incredibly important to me. It’s where I first heard The Beatles, and they also make very good dance music there,” says Tiga. “After conquering the festival circuit, I’m beyond jazzed to sing and dance in a club setting. The restroom lines are much shorter, which I think will make the set noticeably tighter in terms of costume changes."

Co-produced by Clarian North (ex-Footprintz), “Don’t Break My Heart” has already staked its place as the emotional climax of Tiga’s already climax-heavy live show.
“The same world that has given me everything breaks my heart every day-ay. But if that’s the price I have to pay-ay, I wouldn’t have it any other way-ay. I can’t stop singing everything I say-ay.” says an exhausted Tiga, tears of song-sweat streaming down his natural singer’s face.
