The SCOREBaja 1000 is an off-road race that takes place in Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. The 2016 Bud Light SCORE Baja 1000 is the final round of a five-race series, previous events are the SCORE Desert Challenge, the Bud Light SCORE San Felipe 250 & the Bud Light SCORE Baja 500. The 2016 round will be the 49th Bud Light SCORE Baja 1000, occurring from November 16–20 over an 800-mile loop both starting and ending in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
The Baja 1000 allows various types of vehicle classes to compete on the same course - from such small and large bore motorcycles, stock Volkswagen, production vehicles, buggies, Trucks, and custom fabricated race vehicles. The course has remained relatively the same over the years, about every other being either a point-to-point race from Ensenada to La Paz, or a loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada.
The name of the event can be misleading as the mileage varies for the type of event ("Loop" of 600 to 850 miles starting and finishing in Ensenada, or "Point to Point" also known as the 900. The first official race started in Tijuana, Baja California, on October 31, 1967, and was named the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. The course length that year was 849 miles (1,366 km) and ended in La Paz, Baja California Sur, with the overall winning time of 27 hours 38 minutes (27:38) set by Vic Wilson and Ted Mangels while driving a Meyers Manx buggy.
Baja may refer to:
Year 1000 (M) was a leap year starting on Monday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. It was also the last year of the 10th century as well as the last year of the 1st millennium of the Dionysian era ending on December 31st, but the first year of the 1000s decade.
The year falls well into the period of Old World history known as the Middle Ages; in Europe, it is sometimes and by convention considered the boundary date between the Early Middle Ages and the High Middle Ages. The Muslim world was in its "Golden Age". China was in its Song dynasty, Japan was in its "classical" Heian period. India was divided into a number of lesser empires, such as the Rashtrakuta Dynasty, Pala Empire (Kamboja Pala dynasty; Mahipala), Chola dynasty (Raja Raja Chola I), Yadava dynasty, etc. Sub-Saharan Africa was still in the prehistoric period, although Arab slave trade was beginning to be an important factor in the formation of the Sahelian kingdoms. The pre-Columbian New World was in a time of general transition in many regions. Wari and Tiwanaku cultures receded in power and influence while Chachapoya and Chimú cultures rose toward florescence in South America. In Mesoamerica, the Maya Terminal Classic period saw the decline of many grand polities of the Petén like Palenque and Tikal yet a renewed vigor and greater construction phases of sites in the Yucatán region like Chichén Itzá and Uxmal. Mitla, with Mixtec influence, became the more important site of the Zapotec, overshadowing the waning Monte Albán. Cholula flourished in central Mexico, as did Tula, the center of Toltec culture.
SCORETrophy Trucks are the highest class of off-road racing vehicles. Designed with the sole purpose of moving as fast as possible over off-road terrain, this class has been meticulously developed over decades of competition. This is an open production class and all components will be considered open by SCORE International unless restricted.
Although any truck that meets the safety standards can race the Trophy Truck class, they, for the most part, feature long travel suspensions and high power engines. They are intended for desert racing only, and not street legal. These vehicles are known as Trophy Trucks when raced in SCORE International sanctioned races, and Trick Trucks when raced in Best in the Desert sanctioned races.
Ever since the class introduction in 1994, the development of the Trophy Truck has been fast. Previously, the Class-8 rules dictated that the entrants must use a production frame. The introduction of the Trophy Truck class bought with it new freedoms for competitors with minimal rules in its construction. Intense development in full-tube chassis and suspension travel led to previously unseen performance and speed.
Baja California (Spanish: [ˈbaxa kaliˈfornja] listen ), officially Free and Sovereign State of Baja California (Spanish: Estado Libre y Soberano de Baja California), is a state in Mexico. It is the northernmost and westernmost of the 31 states which, with the Federal District, comprise the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. Before becoming a state in 1953, the area was known as the North Territory of Baja California (El Territorio Norte de Baja California). It has an area of 70,113 km2 (27,071 sq mi), or 3.57% of the land mass of Mexico and comprises the northern half of the Baja California Peninsula, north of the 28th parallel, plus oceanic Guadalupe Island. The mainland portion of the state is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by Sonora, the U.S. State of Arizona, and the Gulf of California (also known as the "Sea of Cortez"), and on the south by Baja California Sur. Its northern limit is the U.S. state of California.
The state has an estimated population of 3,165,776 (June 2009) much more than the sparsely populated Baja California Sur to the south, and similar to San Diego County, California on its north. Over 75% of the population lives in the capital city, Mexicali, in Ensenada, or in Tijuana. Other important cities include San Felipe, Rosarito and Tecate. The population of the state is composed of Mestizos, mostly immigrants from other parts of Mexico, and, as with most northern Mexican states, a large population of Mexicans of European ancestry, and also a large minority group of East Asian, Middle Eastern and indigenous descent. Additionally, there is a large immigrant population from the United States due to its proximity to San Diego and the cheaper cost of living compared to San Diego. There is also a significant population from Central America. Many immigrants moved to Baja California for a better quality of life and the number of higher paying jobs in comparison to the rest of Mexico and Latin America.
After a gruesome battle lasting eighteen hours, BJ Baldwin has won the 2013 Baja 1000 for the second consecutive year. As he did in last years peninsula run, BJ iron manned the exhausting 883 mile trek, starting the race in sixth position. The 2013 Baja 1000 course took many prisoners throughout the day but "Ballistic" BJ Baldwin was able to withstand most everything Baja California Norte had to offer and is now the 2013 Baja 1000 Champion. "Ballistic" BJ Baldwin crossed the finish line in a first place overall time of 18:36:10.017 at the 2013 SCORE Baja 1000. With this win comes a sixth championship for Baldwin. Following BJ, a steady pace of racers departed the deepest depths of Baja California Norte and proceeded back in to Ensenada to celebrate the amazing feat of finishing on...
PLEASE READ THE REST OF THIS DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE POSTING A COMMENT. YOUR QUESTION/COMMENT MAY BE ANSWERED HERE. How Ford built the first Raptors and then made the Raptor-R Race Edition and raced it in the 2008 Baja 1000. Finally, for all of you other Raptor owners, the full movie! Sit down, get some popcorn, throw it up on your TV... it's a great story! JUST TO BE TOTALLY CLEAR, THE RAPTOR WAS ONLY RACING AGAINST THE 9 OTHER CLASS-8 TRUCKS THAT ENTERED THE 2008 BAJA 1000. The Raptor team finished 3rd place in their Class-8 series with a time of 25:28:10. The Class-8 series are trucks based on stock frames. They did not finish 3rd place overall. Out of 9 Class-8 trucks that started the race, only 4 finished of which the Ford Raptor placed 3rd. The Baja 1000 is really like 30 races h...

I've been running from a dark horse
I can't lose it
I've been calling to an old cross
Don't excuse it
Well I've paid them back, and I'm alright
Gotta mean kinda woman, she's outta sight
Well I don't mind not sitting in the old booth
At the back, don't break the house rules
I go looking for my ego
Don't explain it
No more laughing I believe girl
Just sustain it
Well I got a home and it's alright
With a mean kinda woman, she's outta sight
Well I don't know 'bout messing up the old school
Don't mind 'bout breading all the house rules
I got things I wanna do girl
Don't abuse it
I don't wanna be a bad boy
You don't fool me
Well you don't need me
Well that's alright
What a guy's gotta live with
Is outta sight
I just wanna eat anything paid for
You're a --- goodness, lips of danger
It's a beast
Hey, hey, I'm breaking my rules
Oh yeah
I don't need no one to tell me
I don't need no one to tell me
What to do girl
No, no no no, said no
Oh, oh, girl, alright
Well, here we go
I got things I wanna do girl
Don't abuse it
I don't wanna be a bad boy
You don't fool me
Well I've been mean
Well that's alright
Got a cat kinda woman
She's outta sight
I just wanna be everything you told me
You don't sit philosophy
Yes it is
Hey hey, Oh, hey, hey, hey, ooh
Hey hey hey hey hey hey, hey hey hey hey yeah
I don't need no one to tell me
I don't need no one to tell me
