Wat

A wat (Thai: วัด wat Lao: ວັດ vad, Khmer: វត្ត wōat) is a buddhist-temple in Thailand, Cambodia or Laos. The term is borrowed from pali vatta "which goes on or is customary, i. e. duty, service, custom, function".

Introduction

Strictly speaking a wat is a Buddhist sacred precinct with a vihara (quarters for bhikkhus), a temple, an edifice housing a large image of Buddha and a structure for lessons. A site without a minimum of three resident bhikkhus cannot correctly be described as a wat although the term is frequently used more loosely, even for ruins of ancient temples. As a transitive or intransitive verb, wat means to measure, to take measurements; compare templum, from which temple derives, having the same root as template.

In everyday language in Thailand, a wat is any place of worship except a mosque (Thai สุเหร่า surao or มัสยิด masjid; a mosque may also be described as โบสถ์ของอิสลาม - bot khong itsalam, literally "Islam church") or a synagogue (Thai สุเหร่ายิว - surao yiw). Thus a wat chin is a Chinese temple (either Buddhist or Taoist), wat khaek is a Hindu temple and wat khrit or wat farang is a Christian church, though Thai โบสถ์ (โบสถ์ bot) may be used descriptively as with mosques.

"Want to Want Me" is a song recorded by American singer Jason Derulo for his fourth studio album, Everything Is 4 (2015). It was released as the album's lead single on March 9, 2015. The song was written by Derulo, Sam Martin, Lindy Robbins, Mitch Allan and its producer, Ian Kirkpatrick.

"Want to Want Me" peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Derulo's sixth top ten hit in the United States. The song topped the UK Singles Chart with first-week sales of 127,000 units. It marked Derulo's fourth number-one single in the United Kingdom, following "In My Head" (2010), "Don't Wanna Go Home" (2011) and "Talk Dirty" (2013). "Want to Want Me" remained at number one in the UK for four weeks.

"Want To" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music duo Sugarland. It was released in August 2006 as the first single from the album Enjoy the Ride. It was their first single not to feature former member Kristen Hall, although Jennifer Nettles had previously been featured on Bon Jovi's Number One country hit, "Who Says You Can't Go Home", the song was also the first regular Number One hit of Sugarland's career in the U.S., spending two weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in late 2006. The duo's members, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, wrote the song along with Bobby Pinson. The song has sold 856,000 copies in the US as of April 2013.
