Cloverfield

Cloverfield is a 2008 American found footage science fiction monster horror film directed by Matt Reeves, produced by J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk, and written by Drew Goddard. Before settling on an official title, the film was marketed as 01-18-08. The film follows six young New York City residents attending a going-away party on the night that a gigantic monster attacks the city.

After years of rumors about a sequel being considered, 10 Cloverfield Lane, a movie which Abrams called "a blood relative" to Cloverfield, will be released on March 11, 2016.

Plot

The film is presented as found footage from a personal camcorder recovered by the United States Department of Defense. A disclaimer text states that the footage is of a case designated "Cloverfield" and was found in area US447, "formerly known as Central Park". The video consists primarily of segments taped the night of Friday, May 22. Occasionally, older segments are shown from a previous video that was mostly taped over.

The first video segment shows Beth waking up on the morning of Monday, April 27 having slept with Rob, a previously platonic friend, who is filming her. They make plans to go to Coney Island that day. The footage then cuts to Friday, May 22, when Rob's brother Jason and his girlfriend Lily prepare a farewell party for Rob, who will be moving to Japan. Their friend Hud uses the camera to film testimonials during the party.

10 Cloverfield Lane

10 Cloverfield Lane is an upcoming 2016 American science fiction mystery thriller film and the directorial debut of Dan Trachtenberg. The film was written by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher, Jr. The film started as a script titled The Cellar, but during production under Bad Robot Productions, it evolved to become what producer J. J. Abrams described as "a blood relative" of the 2008 film Cloverfield. The film is set to be released on March 11, 2016.

Plot

After surviving a car accident, a woman wakes up in an underground cellar, where most of the film takes place. She fears she has been abducted by a survivalist, who tells her, he saved her life and that a worldwide chemical attack has left Earth's surface uninhabitable. Uncertain what to believe, she decides she must escape, no matter what dangers she may face outside.

1911–1920: Early history

Paramount is the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the world after the French studios Gaumont Film Company (1895) and Pathé (1896), followed by the Nordisk Film company (1906), and Universal Studios (1912). It is the last major film studio still headquartered in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles.

Central Park

Central Park is an urban park in middle-upper Manhattan, within New York City, New York. Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States as well as one of the most filmed locations in the world.

It was established in 1857 on 778 acres (315 ha) of city-owned land. In 1858, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, two soon-to-be famed national landscapers and architects, won a design competition to improve and expand the park with a plan they titled the "Greensward Plan". Construction began the same year and the park's first area was opened to the public in the winter of 1858. Construction continued during the American Civil War further south, and was expanded to its current size of 843 acres (341 ha) in 1873.

It was designated a National Historic Landmark (listed by the U.S. Department of the Interior and administered by the National Park Service) in 1962. The Park was managed for decades by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, and is currently managed by the Central Park Conservancy under contract with the municipal government in a public-private partnership. The Conservancy is a non-profit organization that contributes 75 percent of Central Park's $65 million annual budget and is responsible for all basic care of the 843-acre park.
