Part of the Gordon McCann Ozarks Folk Music Collection at Missouri State University's Special Collections and Archives. This recording includes tapes 1 and 2. It was recorded in Springfield, Missouri on Feburary 24, 1985. This house concert was supposed to feature Kenny & Shirley Richardson. The day before the concert, Shirley was admitted to the hospital. This group formed to play this concert. Marideth Sisco, Bo Brown, Phil Croy, and Patty Vanweeland. 1. "Bye Bye Blues" 2. "Sentimental Journey" Sisco talks about the group forming. She say she is using Paul Mitchel’s old "fake books." Mitchel was a professional piano player in the area. Mitchel was on KWTO for years. 3. "Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter" Phil Croy/Bo Brown 4. Unidentified tune (in F) 5. "How Come I Miss You When You Won’t Go Away?" 6. "Elmer’s Tune" Sisco says these are mainly “swing” tunes. The melodies are more important than words, opposite of folk songs. 7. "Cuckoo" Croy 8. "Wave Away" (in G) Sisco sings 9.
