Larry Probst

Lawrence F. "Larry" Probst III is an American businessman who is best known for his work with the video game maker Electronic Arts, including acting as CEO from 1991 until 2007 and as executive chairman from 2013 to 2014. He remains chairman of EA and serves as chairman of the United States Olympic Committee.

Life

Probst was born on July 6, 1950. He is the son of Ruth (née Gallagher) and Lawrence F. Probst, Jr. He has a wife, Nancy, and two sons, Scott and Chip. Probst went to college and graduated with a bachelor's degree from University of Delaware.

Entertainment career

Probst worked for Johnson & Johnson and Clorox before being recruited into the video game industry through Activision in 1982. Two years later he joined EA as vice president for sales until 1986. He then took on the role of the company's senior vice president of the publishing division from 1986 to 1990. Probst became president of Electronic Arts from 1990 to 1997. During this time, he was also pronounced CEO of Electronic Arts in 1991, which he held unto the April of 2007. When president and chief operating officer John Riccitiello resigned in April 2004, Probst became his successor. Riccitiello was re-hired as CEO in 2007, Probst then retained his non-operational duties as chairman. He then worked as executive chairman of Electronic Arts Inc. from March 18, 2013, to January 1, 2015, and former chief executive officer of the company.

Jeff Probst

Jeffrey Lee "Jeff" Probst (born November 4, 1961) is an American game show host and an executive producer. He is best known as the Emmy Award winning host of the U.S. version of the reality show Survivor. Additionally, he was the host of The Jeff Probst Show, a syndicated daytime talk show produced by CBS Television Distribution from September 2012 to May 2013 that lasted for one season.

Early life

Probst was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 4, 1961 to Jerry and Barbara Probst, and grew up primarily in Bellevue, Washington. After graduating from Newport High School in 1979, he attended Seattle Pacific University and worked at Boeing Motion Picture/Television studio as a producer and narrator of marketing videos.

Career

In addition to Survivor, Probst once hosted the FX network's original half-hour show dedicated to answering viewer letters, Backchat, along with Sound FX, a music series featuring Orlando Jones (1996). Probst also hosted the VH1 series Rock & Roll Jeopardy! from 1998 to 2001, and was a correspondent for the syndicated program Access Hollywood. He also wrote and directed the Lionsgate released film, Finder's Fee. People magazine named Probst one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in 2001. He often contributes to Jeopardy! by giving Survivor related clues from the show's venues, has twice appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy!, first in 2001 and again in 2003, and made several cameo appearances during the April 1, 2010 episode.

Larry King Now

Larry King Now is a talk show web series hosted by Larry King and available on Ora TV, Hulu and RT. Launching on July 17, 2012, Larry King Now is King's first-ever web series, primarily featuring one-on-one interviews with "the day's most fascinating newsmakers, celebrities, world leaders and internet stars", similar in vein with his previous television series, Larry King Live which aired on CNN. It was the first venture by Ora TV, an on-demand TV network launched in March 2012 by King and Carlos Slim.

In May 2013, RT announced that Larry King Now would be broadcast on their network as well, along with the Ora TV show Politicking with Larry King.

Larry King (born Lawrence Harvey Zeiger, November 19, 1933) is an American television and radio host, actor, voice actor and comedian whose work has been recognized with awards including two Peabodys and 10 Cable ACE Awards.

He began as a local Florida journalist and radio interviewer in the 1950s and 1960s and became prominent as an all-night national radio broadcaster starting in 1978. From 1985 to 2010, he hosted the nightly interview television program Larry King Live on CNN. He currently hosts Larry King Now on Hulu and RT America during the week, and on Thursdays he hosts Politicking with Larry King, a weekly political talk show which airs in the evening on the same two channels.

Early life and education

King was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Jennie (Gitlitz), a garment worker who was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, and Aaron Zeiger, a restaurant owner and defense-plant worker who was born in Kolomyia, Ukraine. Both parents were Orthodox Jews.

King was educated at Lafayette High School, a public high school in the Brooklyn area of New York City. His father died at 44 of a heart attack and his mother had to go on welfare to support her two sons. King was greatly affected by his father's death, and he lost interest in school. After graduating from high school, he worked to help support his mother and did not go to college or university. From an early age, however, he had wanted to go into radio.
