Today I thank Congress for approving our $28 million reprogramming request for TSA, which will allow us to more effectively and efficiently screen the increased number of travelers at U.S. airports. I would especially like to thank Chairman John Hoeven, Ranking Member Jeanne Shaheen, Chairman John Carter, and Ranking Member Lucille Roybal-Allard for their efforts to ensure the approval of this request.

As the President just stated, the deadly shooting in the early morning hours in Orlando is the worst in U.S. history. As the President also stated, it was an act of terror and an act of hate. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. The leadership of the Department of Homeland Security and our components are dedicated to investigating this tragedy, along with the FBI and our state and local partners, and supporting the Orlando community in the tragedy's aftermath. In light of today's tragedy, this morning I canceled my planned official travel to Beijing to resume our ministerial-level discussions there.
