Lane Cove Area

The Lane Cove Area consists of a large region located to the northwest of Sydney, in New South Wales. This area encompasses Lane Cove, Lane Cove West, and Lane Cove North – which are separate suburbs – and is conveniently close to the Lower North Shore. The name Lane Cove has long been used to address all of the land north of the river. On the 14th, February of 1790, Lieutenant Ralph Clark was the first European settler to settle Lane Cove.

This region does encompass residential areas, with Lane Cove West being an affluent suburb, and is also home to thriving commercial and industrial enterprises. In addition to attracting professionals, Lane Cove is appealing to families, as it is home to the impressive Lane Cove Library, a well-equipped aquatic centre, and numerous parks.

Over 20,000 people live in the Lane Cove Area. Depending upon the suburb, a large portion of the residents live in flats or row houses. The area is well connected to Sydney via the Gore Hill Freeway.
