Hermetic Principles & Hermetic Philosophy: What are The Seven Hermetic Principles?
In this video I discuss the Kybalion by the Three Initiates. (Or is that really who it's by? We'll also discuss that! ;))
In 1912 the Kybalion was published, and in it were listed The Seven Hermetic Principles allegedly transmitted by word of mouth from early students of Hermes Trismegistus, to these "Three Initiates". Who really wrote the Kybalion? Who are the Three Initiates, and what role did William Walker Atkinson play in the book's creation? What are The Seven Hermetic Principles? What do they mean? In this video I answer these questions.
Whether you classify the Kybalion as more of a New Thought book due to its author, or as true Hermetic Philosophy, it's hard to argue with the Seven Hermetic Principles. They really do sum up much of how the world works, and understanding and applying them can make a very dramatic difference to your life.

Los siete principios o axiomas, como están descritos en el Kybalión, son:
Mentalismo. El Todo es mente; el universo es mental.
Correspondencia. Como es arriba, es abajo; como es abajo, es arriba. Afirma que este principio se manifiesta en los tres Grandes Planos: el Físico, el Mental y el Espiritual.
Vibración. Nada está inmóvil; todo se mueve; todo vibra.
Polaridad. Todo es doble, todo tiene dos polos; todo, su par de opuestos: los semejantes y los antagónicos son lo mismo; los opuestos son idénticos en naturaleza, pero diferentes en grado; los extremos se tocan; todas las verdades son medias verdades, todas las paradojas pueden reconciliarse.
Ritmo. Todo fluye y refluye; todo tiene sus períodos de avance y retroceso, todo asciende y desciende; todo se mueve como un péndulo; la medida de su movimiento hacia la derecha es la misma que la de su movimiento hacia la izquierda; el ritmo es la compensación.
Causa y efecto. Toda causa tiene su efecto; todo efecto tiene su causa; todo sucede de acuerdo a la ley; la suerte o azar no es más que el nombre que se le da a la ley no reconocida; hay muchos planos de casualidad, pero nada escapa a la Ley.
Generación. El género existe por doquier; todo tiene su principio masculino y femenino; el género se manifiesta en todos los planos. En el plano físico es la sexualidad.

Hermes Trismegistus
Hermes Trismegistus (Ancient Greek: Ἑρμῆς ὁ Τρισμέγιστος, "thrice-greatest Hermes"; Latin: Mercurius ter Maximus) is the purported author of the Hermetic Corpus, a series of sacred texts that are the basis of Hermeticism.
Origin and identity
Hermes Trismegistus may be a representation of the syncretic combination of the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth. In Hellenistic Egypt, the Greeks recognized the congruence of their god Hermes with Thoth. Subsequently, the two gods were worshiped as one, in what had been the Temple of Thoth in Khemnu, which the Greeks called Hermopolis.
Both Thoth and Hermes were gods of writing and of magic in their respective cultures. Thus, the Greek god of interpretive communication was combined with the Egyptian god of wisdom as a patron of astrology and alchemy. In addition, both gods were psychopomps, guiding souls to the afterlife. The Egyptian priest and polymath, Imhotep, had been deified long after his death and therefore assimilated to Thoth in the classical and Hellenistic period. The renowned scribe Amenhotep and a wise man named Teôs were equally deified as gods of wisdom, science and medicine and thus placed alongside Imhotep in shrines dedicated to Thoth-Hermes during the Ptolemaic period.

The Principle
The Principle is a 2014 American documentary film produced by Rick Delano and Robert Sungenis questioning the Copernican principle and discussing geocentricism. The film opened in Chicago on October 24, 2014. The film is narrated by Kate Mulgrew and features scientists such as Lawrence M. Krauss and Michio Kaku. Mulgrew and some of the scientists who were interviewed have since repudiated the ideas advanced in the film and have alleged that their involvement was the result of being misled by the filmmaker. The repudiation occurred before the film was released, and without the scientists or Mulgrew having viewed the film.
Summary
The film's producers state that the documentary concerns recent observations challenging the Copernican principle. Some authors speculate that the film aims to support the theory that the Earth is motionless at the center of the universe.
Release
The release date of the film was October 24, 2014, when it was screened at the Marcus Addison Cinema in Addison, Illinois, according to the distributor Rocky Mountain Pictures.

El Kybalión es un documento del siglo XIX que resume las enseñanzas del hermetismo, también conocidos como los siete principios del hermetismo. Su autoría se atribuye a un grupo anónimo de personas autodenominados Los Tres Iniciados, aunque las bases del hermetismo se atribuyen a un alquimista místico y deidad de algunas logias ocultistas llamado Hermes Trismegisto, cuya existencia se estima en Egipto antes de la época de los faraones, y que según una leyenda fue guía de Abraham. La Tradición Hermética, es decir, el esoterismo occidental, se ha mantenido viva desde sus orígenes egipcios y griegos, y forma parte de la columna vertebral de nuestra cultura.
“Los llamados iniciados, testimoniados en los jeroglíficos egipcios y en los escritos griegos, incluyendo a Orfeo, Pitágoras y Platón, son los maestros de esta Tradición ligada directamente con la divinidad Thot-Hermes y su proyección filosófica en Alejandría en el s. III, y hermético-alquímica en la Edad Media y el Renacimiento, continuando hasta nuestros días. La Tradición Hermética es, junto con los demás valores culturales que conforman el pensamiento occidental, incluidas las religiones que coexisten con él, la vía iniciática por excelencia para todos aquellos que han nacido o viven en Occidente y tienen las estructuras de su impronta cultural. La Tradición Hermética, cuya característica es la versatilidad con respecto a la rigidez de otras tradiciones dogmáticas, es la posibilidad de encarnar los Misterios Menores, es decir la reintegración del Hombre Verdadero, y de sus posibilidades supra-humanas, tal cual fue en el origen, en un Paraíso anterior a la caída. Según las creencias egipcias, los dioses habían gobernado en el Antiguo Egipto antes que los faraones, civilizándolos con sus enseñanzas. En ellas, el dios egipcio Tot era el dios de la sabiduría y el patrón de los magos. También era el guardián y escribiente de los registros que contenían el conocimiento de los Dioses. Clemente de Alejandría estimaba que los egipcios poseían cuarenta y dos escritos sagrados, que contenían todas las enseñanzas que poseían los sacerdotes egipcios. Más tarde, varias de las características de Tot se asociarían al Hermes de la mitología helenística, incluyendo la autoría de los «cuarenta y dos textos». Este sincretismo se manifestó en el primer o segundo siglo de la era cristiana y se le comenzó a llamar «Hermes Trismegisto» a esta fusión.En algún momento, la ambigua noción de divinidad, se transformó por la de un personaje histórico de los tiempos iniciales de la civilización occidental, al cual además se le atribuyeron otros escritos filosóficos.

In this video I discuss the Kybalion by the Three Initiates. (Or is that really who it's by? We'll also discuss that! ;))
In 1912 the Kybalion was published, and in it were listed The Seven Hermetic Principles allegedly transmitted by word of mouth from early students of Hermes Trismegistus, to these "Three Initiates". Who really wrote the Kybalion? Who are the Three Initiates, and what role did William Walker Atkinson play in the book's creation? What are The Seven Hermetic Principles? What do they mean? In this video I answer these questions.
Whether you classify the Kybalion as more of a New Thought book due to its author, or as true Hermetic Philosophy, it's hard to argue with the Seven Hermetic Principles. They really do sum up much of how the world works, and understanding and applying them can make a very dramatic difference to your life.

Mentalismo. El Todo es mente; el universo es mental.
Correspondencia. Como es arriba, es abajo; como es abajo, es arriba. Afirma que este principio se manifiesta en los tres Grandes Planos: el Físico, el Mental y el Espiritual.
Vibración. Nada está inmóvil; todo se mueve; todo vibra.
Polaridad. Todo es doble, todo tiene dos polos; todo, su par de opuestos: los semejantes y los antagónicos son lo mismo; los opuestos son idénticos en naturaleza, pero diferentes en grado; los extremos se tocan; todas las verdades son medias verdades, todas las paradojas pueden reconciliarse.
Ritmo. Todo fluye y refluye; todo tiene sus períodos de avance y retroceso, todo asciende y desciende; todo se mueve como un péndulo; la medida de su movimiento hacia la derecha es la misma que la de su movimiento hacia la izquierda; el ritmo es la compensación.
Causa y efecto. Toda causa tiene su efecto; todo efecto tiene su causa; todo sucede de acuerdo a la ley; la suerte o azar no es más que el nombre que se le da a la ley no reconocida; hay muchos planos de casualidad, pero nada escapa a la Ley.
Generación. El género existe por doquier; todo tiene su principio masculino y femenino; el género se manifiesta en todos los planos. En el plano físico es la sexualidad.
