DCNS has handed over the multimission frigate Mohammed VI to the Royal Moroccan Navy on time, on budget and with performance as promised. This is the second vessel of this type designed and built by DCNS in a production run of 12 ships for the French and Moroccan Navies. The Mohammed VI benefits from the same technological and production innovations as the FREMM frigates for the French Navy. The Royal Moroccan Navy will acquire the ship's weapon systems and munitions directly from its own selected suppliers. http://www.navyrecognition.com/index.php?option=com_content&task;=view&id;=1530

This has resulted in an optimal hull form series, ranging from 50 to 150m in length and 9 to 15m width. With this range, the whole spectrum from Offshore Patrol Vessel, via corvette to frigate is being covered. The vessels have been built up in a standardised modular way, using off the shelf equipment where possible. This approach allows the client to compose its own vessel of standard blocks. Of course every vessel can be further customised, based on specific client requirements like amount of equipment, type and make. For the client this SIGMA Design Philosophy offers the following advantages; ...

The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces are the military forces of the kingdom of Morocco. They consist of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Royal Guard, the Royal Gendarmerie and the Auxiliary Forces. The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces are large, expensive and well-trained with extensive experience in counter-insurgency, desert warfare and combined air-land operations, Further experience has come from participating in peace-keeping operations. However, as Morocco has not fought a conventional interstate war since the Algerian-Moroccan war of 1963, they have little experience in state-on-state warfare. This video is targeted to blind users.
