Kadavar

Kadavar are a rock band from Berlin, Germany, founded in 2010. Their retro sound, incorporating psychedelic rock and stoner rock, has been compared to bands of the 1970s hard rock/heavy metal era such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Kadavar currently consists of three members: guitarist and lead vocalist Christoph "Lupus" Lindemann, drummer Christoph "Tiger" Bartelt and bassist Simon "Dragon" Bouteloup.

History

In 2010, drummer Bartelt and guitarist Philipp "Mammut" Lippitz began playing together. They became a band when Lindemann joined as bassist and vocalist. Lindemann decided to switch to guitar, allowing Lippitz to switch to bass. Their first recording, an eponymous two-song CDR, was self-released on August 25, 2011.

On July 12, 2012, Kadavar's self-titled debut album was released on This Charming Man Records/ Tee Pee Records.

A collaboration with the band Aqua Nebula Oscillator resulted in the release of the White Ring album in November 2012.

Due to visa problems, a planned U.S. tour could not take place, although the band did appear at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas on March 15, 2013. While in Texas, the band recorded various video clips of themselves which were later used to create the music video for their song "Come Back Life", which was produced by Bartelt.

Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast is an independent record label and mail order record distributor with subsidiaries in Germany, the United States and Brazil. The record label was founded in 1987 by Markus Staiger in Germany. Originally releasing hardcore punk records, the label moved on to releasing albums by melodic death metal, grindcore, power metal and black metal bands, as well as tribute albums.

More recent signings include names such as Decapitated, Danzig, Slayer,Cradle of Filth,Edguy, Nightwish, Symphony X, Suffocation, Machine Head and Fear Factory.

History

Nuclear Blast was formed in 1987 after founder Markus Staiger travelled throughout the United States for four weeks and saw a gig of his favorite band BL'AST!. The label's first release was a vinyl compilation called Senseless Death (NB 001) featuring US hardcore bands like Attitude, Sacred Denial, Impulse Manslaughter and others.

In August, 10th, 1997, Nuclear Blast held a concert in Longhorn/LKA, Stuttgart named 10 Years Nuclear Blast Festival at which the following bands performed:

This Charming Man

"This Charming Man" is a song by the English rock band The Smiths, written by guitarist Johnny Marr and singer/lyricist Morrissey. It was released as the group's second single in October 1983 on the independent record label Rough Trade. The song is defined by Marr's jangle pop guitar riff and Morrissey's characteristically morose lyrics, which revolve around the recurrent Smiths themes of sexual ambiguity and lust.

Feeling detached from and unable to relate to the early 1980s mainstream gay culture, Morrissey wrote "This Charming Man" to evoke an older, more coded and self-aware underground scene. The singer explained of the song's lyrics, "I really like the idea of the male voice being quite vulnerable, of it being taken and slightly manipulated, rather than there being always this heavy machismo thing that just bores everybody."

Although only moderately successful on first release—the single peaked at number 25 on the British singles chart, "This Charming Man" has been widely praised in both the music and mainstream press. The single was re-issued in 1992, reaching number 8 on the UK singles chart (making it The Smiths' biggest UK hit by chart position). In 2004, BBC Radio 2 listeners voted it number 97 on the station's "Sold on Song Top 100" poll.Mojo magazine journalists placed the track at number 1 on their 2008 "50 Greatest UK Indie Records of All Time" feature.

Resurrection Fest

Resurrection Fest is a rock music festival that takes place in Viveiro, region of Lugo, Spain. This festival is held annually since 2006 during July or early August, and features mainly heavy metal, hardcore punk and punk rock bands. Since its birth it has become one of the most important music festivals in Spain because of its specialization in extreme music. In 2013 edition set its record in 33.000 attendees, with a measured socio-economic impact of 3.3 millions of euros in the region. In 2015, these numbers increased to more than 54.500 people and a 6.15-million euros impact.

Along its history, more than 200 bands have performed, including world-wide important groups such as Korn, Motörhead, In Flames, Black Label Society, Megadeth, Slayer, NOFX, Lamb of God, Refused, Testament, Five Finger Death Punch, Trivium, Down, Sick of It All, Bad Religion, Bullet for My Valentine, Heaven Shall Burn, Pennywise, Hatebreed, At the Gates, Dead Kennedys, Exodus, or Black Flag, among others.
