Less than an hour and a half from Crewe, the Llangollen Railway by the River Dee in Wales boasts some of the most stunning scenery one can see from the seat of a GWR chocolate and cream coach.
A special thanks to the Llangollen Railway's team of staff and volunteers, and especially Charles Allen for granting us access to the signal boxes!

I take a trip to North Wales from London, England. It starts with a train to Chester before meeting up with my new friend John from Boutique Tours and heading into Wales. There the road trip begins and we visit Hawarden Farm for lunch before visiting the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct along the Llangollen Canal, the city of Llangollen and finally the Valle Crucis Abbey on the way to Ruthin. Once in Ruthin we see the Ruthin Castle Hotel where I'm staying and that concludes the episode.

You don't have to travel across the world to see amazing things. We had many plans for our trip to Wales, but ended up enjoying an amazing experience just in one town. The town of Llangollen.
We spent the morning in the softest feather bed ever at Capel Pennant converted Chapel http://www.underthethatch.co.uk/capelp/2 Waking up feeling great we headed into town to get breakfast at Chatwins coffee and cakes, before heading down to the river Dee for a beautiful moment in the sunshine.
But the highlight moment of the day was when we headed to Castell Dinas Bran for an experience that made us remember that there is beauty all over the world. Even in a small Welsh town in November :-)

Llangollen
Coordinates: 52°58′12″N 3°10′12″W / 52.970°N 3.170°W / 52.970; -3.170
Llangollen (Welsh pronunciation: [ɬaŋˈɡɔɬɛn]) is a small town and community in Denbighshire, north-east Wales, situated on the River Dee and on the edge of the Berwyn mountains. It had a population of 3,658 at the 2011 census.
History
Llangollen takes its name from the Welsh llan meaning "a religious settlement" and Saint Collen, a 6th-century monk who founded a church beside the river. St Collen is said to have arrived in Llangollen by coracle. There are no other churches in Wales dedicated to St Collen, and he may have had connections with Colan in Cornwall and with Langolen in Brittany.
Situated above the town to the north is Castell Dinas Brân, a stronghold of the Princes of Powys. Beyond the castle is the limestone escarpment known as the Eglwyseg Rocks. The outcrop continues north to World's End in Wrexham. The area nearest the castle is the Panorama Walk, and a monument to poet I.D. Hooson from the village of Rhosllannerchrugog can be found there.

You don't have to travel across the world to see amazing things. We had many plans for our trip to Wales, but ended up enjoying an amazing experience just in one town. The town of Llangollen.
We spent the morning in the softest feather bed ever at Capel Pennant converted Chapel http://www.underthethatch.co.uk/capelp/2 Waking up feeling great we headed into town to get breakfast at Chatwins coffee and cakes, before heading down to the river Dee for a beautiful moment in the sunshine.
But the highlight moment of the day was when we headed to Castell Dinas Bran for an experience that made us remember that there is beauty all over the world. Even in a small Welsh town in November :-)
