Ok, comments are gone. There is now an official subreddit for video discussion.
https://www.reddit.com/r/enbro/
I've resisted this for a long, long time, but the comments have reached the
point where I don't even want to upload videos at all.
Once upon a time (not long ago), opening the comments section was my favorite part of every video. There was almost always some really deep discussion about mechanics or lore or other games.
Recently, those sorts of discussions are being drowned out, and opening the comments is something I really don't even want to do. The fact that YouTube doesn't provide proper moderation tools is the real problem.
That's why a lot of larger channels changed over to using subreddits a long time ago. A lot of people took the G+ debacle as a good opportunity to switch; I thought about it at the time, but I decided I wanted to keep it simple for people to discuss things with me. As a consequence of that, it's been easy for people who just want to sling insults, spoil things when asked not to, etc. I've been just trying to put up with it, but it's honestly become too big an issue to ignore.
So, the official enb subreddit is: enbro.
https://www.reddit.com/r/enbro/
When I post a new video, I will also post a new (official) thread in the subreddit for talking about it. enbro isn't just for talking about my videos, though. Any discussion of underground / niche games, etc., is more than welcome. Frankly, I'm looking forward to being able to talk more in-depth with people who are into the same sort of games and media that
I am without having to put up with all the random nonsense.
And that's that. (
Sorry RandomGuy! I know you said you don't like reddit
... honestly, I'm not a huge fan either... they make EVERYTHING harder than it needs to be. But we needed a place, and now we have one)
On another note, some of you guys might recognize the style of the artwork on the thumbnail and in the beginning of the video... that's a piece of
Bait fanart by
Gabriel Verdon... winner of the
Dark Souls 2 shield contest! (You know, "
Rebel's" Greatshield and talk-to-the-hand greatshield?)
Gabe's a very cool guy, and he is selling prints of this Bait piece. I don't make any money off this at all, by the way. It supports him. And he deserves it! So, I'm letting you know, if you like the Bait, you can get your own here:
