The High Road

The High Road is the second studio album by American singer JoJo, released on October 17, 2006 by Da Family Entertainment, Blackground Records, and Universal Records. Recording sessions for the album took place during late 2005 to mid-2006 in California, New York City, Miami, and Atlanta. Lyrical themes involve relationships, young love, break-ups, forgiveness, self-acceptance, and faith. It features an eclectic array of styles, such as pop, alternative rock, and hip hop soul.

The High Road debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with 108,000 copies sold in its first week. It also peaked at number 12 on the Canadian Albums Chart and at number 24 on the UK Singles Chart. The album received gold certifications in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and has sold three million copies worldwide.

Three singles were released from the album. The lead single, "Too Little Too Late", peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming JoJo's highest-peaking single on the chart, while reaching the top 10 in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the UK. The second single, "How to Touch a Girl", was released on November 14, 2006 in the US. "Anything" was released as the album's third and final single on May 7, 2007, reaching number 18 in Ireland and number 21 in the UK.

The Offspring

The Offspring is an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. Formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist Greg K., lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and drummer Pete Parada. The Offspring is often credited—alongside fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid—for reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the 1990s. They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, being considered one of the best-selling punk rock bands of all time.

The Offspring has released nine studio albums so far. Their first three albums for the independent record labels Nemesis and Epitaph earned them a cult following. The band's third studio album, Smash (1994), became their first commercial success, and has sold over 11 million copies worldwide, setting a record for most albums sold on an independent label and becoming the first album on Epitaph to obtain gold and platinum status. After signing to Columbia Records in 1996, The Offspring continued their commercial success with its next four studio albums, Ixnay on the Hombre (1997), Americana (1998), Conspiracy of One (2000) and Splinter (2003), reaching platinum, multi-platinum, platinum and gold status respectively.Splinter was followed five years later by Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008), and then four years later by Days Go By (2012). Twelve Foot Ninja

Twelve Foot Ninja is a rock band formed in 2008 in Melbourne, Victoria. The band consists of Kin (Vocals), Russ (Drums), Stevic (Guitar) Damon (Bass) and Rohan (Guitar). They broke a world record for the most amount crowdfunded for a music video, raising $52,600 to make their video for 'Ain't That A Bitch'.

History

Early years (2008-)

Prior to the launch of their album debut, the band had released 2 EPs. The first, New Dawn, released in 2008, resulted in the band earning a Triple J Unearthed Number 1 with the track ‘Dark Passenger’, various support slots, and an appearance at Sydney's Come Together Festival.

Their second EP, Smoke Bomb, was released in November 2010. Produced by the band’s guitarist Steve "Stevic" Mackay in his Melbourne home studio, the EP was mixed by local producer/engineer Hadyn Buxton (Trial Kennedy, Jonesez, Blueline Medic, Dukes of Windsor, Felix Riebl) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Deftones, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley) at Masterdisk, New York. Guest musicians on the release include Bär McKinnon (Mr.Bungle) on Saxophone and Ollie McGill (Cat Empire) on Keyboards.
