Lake Ontario
Lake Ontario (French: Lac Ontario) is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. It is surrounded on the north, west, and southwest by the Canadian province of Ontario, and on the south and east by the American state of New York, whose water boundaries meet in the middle of the lake. Ontario, Canada's most populous province, was named for the lake. In the Wyandot (Huron) language, ontarío means “Lake of Shining Waters”. Its primary inlet is the Niagara River from Lake Erie. The last in the Great Lakes chain, Lake Ontario serves as the outlet to the Atlantic Ocean via the St. Lawrence River.

Ontario (
i/ɒnˈtɛərioʊ/) is one of the ten provinces of Canada, located in east-central Canada. It is Canada's most populous province by a large margin, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all Canadians, and is the second largest province in total area. Ontario is fourth largest in total area when the territories of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut are included. It is home to the nation's capital city, Ottawa, and the nation's most populous city, Toronto.
Ontario is bordered by the province of Manitoba to the west, Hudson Bay and James Bay to the north, and Quebec to the east, and to the south by the US states of (from west to east) Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. All of Ontario's 2,700 km (1,678 mi) border with the United States follows inland waterways: from the west at Lake of the Woods, eastward along the major rivers and lakes of the Great Lakes/Saint Lawrence River drainage system. These are the Rainy River, the Pigeon River, Lake Superior, the St. Marys River, Lake Huron, the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, the Detroit River, Lake Erie, the Niagara River, Lake Ontario and along the St. Lawrence River from Kingston, Ontario, to the Quebec boundary just east of Cornwall, Ontario.

After spending the morning touring historic downtown Kingston and Queen's University we decided to take a free 20 minute ferry, boarding the Wolfe Islander III, over to Wolfe Island.
The ferry runs daily throughout the year starting at 5:45 am with a final run at 2 AM.
As the largest of the world-renowned Thousand Islands, the 29 kilometer long Wolfe Island is situated at the entrance of the Saint Lawrence River in Lake Ontario.
We're out here on Wolfe Island and it is a Friday afternoon and the streets are pretty empty. We've just been driving around the island and pulling over whenever we see something interesting. We just found some cows over here in a field so we're photographing them. Yeah.
This is the kind of cute little island where you'll enjoy the slower pace of life, farmland, windmills, beaches and other recreational activities.
We are here at the ferry terminal and this must be the smallest border inspection area I've ever seen.
For those with time to spare, you can cross over to the United States via ferry from Wolfe Island to Cape Vincent, New York with frequent daily routes between May to October.
This is awesome. I've never been so close to a windmill before.
Other attractions on Wolfe Island include a corn maze, bicycle routes, a golf course and country roads.
What are you doing? We stopped for a little ice cream break. I'm having black cherry and strawberry and this is what you're having. And you've got it in your hand. It look gross. Are you going to eat it? It looks gross. Yeah. Rude.
With time to spare before we caught our Ferry back to Kingston, we enjoyed eating ice cream, tanning and walking out on the pier.
Our time went by so quickly and before we knew it we were boarding the ferry again.
Along the way you'll spot wildlife, pass various other boats and have a great view of the Royal Military College of Canada campus.
If you're visiting Kingston, Wolfe Island is a perfect little day trip -- especially during the summer months.
We enjoyed a nice family outing and we hope to back again soon.

Known as the world's polar bear capital, Churchill is one of the few towns on earth where you can come face to face with the famed white bears in the wild. Each fall, the bears gather along the shores of Hudson Bay as they begin their move from their summer habitat on the tundra back to seal hunting territory.
Jasper National Park
Canada's Glacier Skywalk in Jasper, which opened in 2014, is a fantastic place to catch views of the surrounding mountains. Jutting 35 meters out the side of a cliff on Jasper National Park's Icefields Parkway, the glass-floored observation walkway hangs 280 meters above Sunwapta Canyon.
Notre Dame Basilica
Located in Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica is one of Canada's most stunning churches. Completed in 1891, it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1989. Religious services for multiple high profile Canadians have taken place at Notre Dame, including the wedding of Celine Dion and funerals for prime minister Pierre Trudeau and former Montreal Canadiens great Maurice "Rocket" Richard. Located in Nunavut Territory -- Canada's northernmost region -- the 22,200-square-kilometer Sirmilik National Park is made up of rugged mountains, ice fields, glaciers, fjords and river valleys. April to June is the best time of year to visit the edges of the incredible ice floes (pictured).

Historic Rideau Canal, a UNESCO site built in the early 19th century, is made up of a chain of lakes, rivers and canals stretching 202 kilometers from Kingston to Ottawa. In winter, a 7.8-kilometer stretch of the frozen Rideau Canal is turned into a skating rink.

Founded in the early 17th century, Quebec City's historic Old City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and North America's best example of a fortified colonial city. The Upper Town, built on the cliff, is filled with churches, convents and monuments such as the Citadel, Chateau Frontenac and Place Royale (pictured).
Bay of Fundy's Hopewell Rocks
Canada's Bay of Fundy in the Atlantic Ocean is home to the highest tides in the world. As a result, New Brunswick's incredible, eroded Hopewell Rocks are covered in water twice a day. The time span between low and high tide is six hours and 13 minutes, giving visitors time to stroll on the ocean floor.
Whistler, British Columbia
