Indigenous tribesmen living deep in the Peruvian rainforest have emerged into the outside world to seek help, after suffering a murderous attack by probable drug traffickers.
The contact took place across the border in Brazil and was recorded in a video released on Friday. The tribesmen caught a serious respiratory disease after contact, a major killer of isolated indigenous people, but have since recovered.

This document, is one example of how the indigenous peoples of Maluku perform activities of their lives in the mountains, and the brothers can think about what would happen, if the necessities of life in the communities concerned are not conserved for the benefit of the interdependence of living among the community of nations needs daily in their nature. Militarization of communities has led to forcible evacuations of Lumads. Their livelihood has been disrupted. Community infrastructure like schools, clinics, collective farms have been destroyed. And anywhere where military are deployed, not only is it the harassment of the communities that escalates - but also specifically violence against women and girls.
Using the classic divide-and-rule approach, the Armed Forces of the Philippines has organized, armed, and trained indigenous paramilitaries to fight against their kin. Today over 40,000 Lumads have been forcibly displaced from ancestral domains due to militarization. And the military is deployed in this region to secure the interests of hundreds of mining concessions, that are plundering the country for gold, copper, nickel and chromite - with the full back in and authority of the Philippine government. This film highlights the voices of the over 1,000 Manobos and Matigsalogs who are staying in an evacuation center at UCCP Haran in Davao City who are leading the Indigenous Peoples Rising in the Philippines.

Indigenous peoples
Indigenous peoples are those groups protected in international or national legislation as having a set of specific rights based on their historical ties to a particular territory, their cultural and historical distinctiveness from other populations. The legislation is based on the conclusion that certain indigenous people are vulnerable to exploitation, marginalization and oppression by nation states formed from colonising populations or by politically dominant, different ethnic groups.
A special set of political rights in accordance with international law have been set forth by international organizations such as the United Nations, the International Labour Organization and the World Bank. The United Nations has issued a Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to guide member-state national policies to collective rights of indigenous people—such as culture, identity, language, and access to employment, health, education, and natural resources. Estimates put the total population of indigenous peoples from 220 million to 350 million.

List of indigenous peoples
This is a partial list of the world's indigenous / aboriginal / native people. Indigenous peoples are any ethnic group of peoples who are considered to fall under one of the internationally recognized definitions of Indigenous peoples, such as United Nations, the International Labour Organization and the World Bank, i.e. "those ethnic groups that were indigenous to a territory prior to being incorporated into a national state, and who are politically and culturally separate from the majority ethnic identity of the state that they are a part of".
Note that this is a listing of peoples, groups and communities. Many of the names are externally imposed, and are not those the people identify within their cultures. As John Trudell observed, "They change our name and treat us the same." Basic to the unethical treatment of indigenous peoples is an insistence that the original inhabitants of the land are not permitted to name themselves. Many tribal groups have reasserted their traditional self-identifying names in recent times, in a process of geographical renaming where "The place-name changes herald a new era, in which Aboriginal people have increasing control over the right to name and govern their homelands."

This is a talk by advocate and educator on Indigenous inequality Jenny Sutherland, Miskwa-Assin-Ginebik-Kwe, at Algonquin Medicine Man's Summer Solstice Healing Circle at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa on Indigenous Day - June 21, 2016. The beginning of this talk is missing due to technical difficulties - Jenny introduced herself as a proud member of Moose Cree First Nation with her homelands being the James Bay lowlands. She acknowledged being on the unceded territory of the Algonquins and that it was an honour to be there. The Kamayurá are an indigenous tribe in the Amazonian Basin of Brazil. Their name is also spelled Kamayura and Kamaiurá; it means "a raised platform to keep meat, pots and pans. The Kamayurá live in the Upper Xingu region along with Kiabi, Yudja and Suya tribes. The ways of life of these four tribes are quite similar despite having different languages. Their villages are situated around Lake Ipavu, which is six kilometres from the Kuluene River. Much like other small indigenous cultures around the globe, the Kamayurá are struggling to adapt to the effects of deforestation and climate change. The beginning of this talk is missing due to technical difficulties - Jenny introduced herself as a proud member of Moose Cree First Nation with her homelands being the James Bay lowlands. She acknowledged being on the unceded territory of the Algonquins and that it was an honour to be there.
The circle was a fundraiser to help bring awareness to the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman (MMIW) in Canada. The money raised from the circle will be used to make prints from a drawing Jenny created. The money from the sale of the prints will go to the many wonderful organisations already out there working very hard at this issue, such as Walking With Our Sisters.
The drawing, which Jenny shares in this video, was made in honour of all Indigenous women and its creation was part of Jenny's soul wound healing. The inspiration behind this piece came from a discussion she had with her mentor and healer regarding the sorrow all Indigenous people feel...when a thought came to her that "sometimes the pain ignites in us a fire for a torch that is worth its weight in carrying." A torch for equality, justice and compassion in a country that continues to turn a blind eye at its horrific history with its First People and continues to feed systemic racism and allow a cultural genocide against its Indigenous people.
The drawing is of an Indigenous woman clutching her Soul Wound and holding a torch. The torch is more metaphorical and thus its lines blend into the arm and transitions into a medicine feather fan.
Jenny hopes that the image represents all Indigenous women and their beauty, heartache, grace, strength and resilience. Jenny urges people to recognise their deepest wounds and to allow these wounds to ignite in us the work that needs to be done to heal ourselves, our relationships with each other and our connection to our sacred Earth mother who without we would have no medicine or fire...and so much more.
Jenny spoke to the present day issues, such as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, being due to Canada's dark history with its First Peoples and the continued issues of inequality and racism. Canada's "best kept secret" - its history of residential schools that our country has deliberately tried to keep hidden - is a very dark part of our country's past and needs to be acknowledged, so this country can move toward a healed outcome.
Jenny sought to provide the awareness and knowledge needed to best understand the past and present day issues affecting Indigenous people, and to seek the compassion needed to facilitate reconciliation in this country.

Ritual Dance Of The Kamayura Indigenous People - (Lost Tribe)
In 2002 there were an estimated 355 people. Now there are about 544 (2010). Their numbers had made a good recovery from an all-time low of 94 people recorded in 1954, the previous reduction in numbers due to the measles epidemic. The total population was 264 when adventurer Karl von den Steinen originally visited the area.
The Kamayurá are extremely vulnerable to diseases transmitted by outsiders, as they have not developed immunity to viruses such as influenza, measles and chicken pox that most other societies have been exposed to for hundreds of years. And all have a right to their lands, under international and national law.
The fact that they remain isolated does not mean that they remain undiscovered or unchanged. Most are already known of and, however isolated, all constantly adapt to their changing circumstances, they are not ‘backward’ for their lack of ‘industrialised’ technology, material goods or formal education.

The Kamayurá are an indigenous tribe in the Amazonian Basin of Brazil. Their name is also spelled Kamayura and Kamaiurá; it means "a raised platform to keep meat, pots and pans. The Kamayurá live in the Upper Xingu region along with Kiabi, Yudja and Suya tribes. The ways of life of these four tribes are quite similar despite having different languages. Their villages are situated around Lake Ipavu, which is six kilometres from the Kuluene River. Much like other small indigenous cultures around the globe, the Kamayurá are struggling to adapt to the effects of deforestation and climate change.

In 2002 there were an estimated 355 people. Now there are about 544 (2010). Their numbers had made a good recovery from an all-time low of 94 people recorded in 1954, the previous reduction in numbers due to the measles epidemic. The total population was 264 when adventurer Karl von den Steinen originally visited the area.
The Kamayurá are extremely vulnerable to diseases transmitted by outsiders, as they have not developed immunity to viruses such as influenza, measles and chicken pox that most other societies have been exposed to for hundreds of years. And all have a right to their lands, under international and national law.
The fact that they remain isolated does not mean that they remain undiscovered or unchanged. Most are already known of and, however isolated, all constantly adapt to their changing circumstances, they are not ‘backward’ for their lack of ‘industrialised’ technology, material goods or formal education.
