One of the white knight - if not, THE white knight - superheroes, Superman remains a legend of yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever as Metropolis' Man of Steel who's faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings at a single bound.
Decades TV pays tribute to the late George Reeves, who tragically passed away on June 16, 1959. Though his death remains a mystery, it is no mystery that Reeves helped defined the role of playing the world's finest with "The Adventures of Superman", which aired in syndication from 1952 to 1958. Strange visitor from the planet Krypton, Superman is blessed with powers and abilities that are far beyond the mortal man. Donning the disguise of mild-mannered "Daily Planet" reporter Clark Kent, Superman fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice and the American Way: championing the oppressed, defending the weak, helping maintain law and order in Metropolis against organized crime and corruption.
On Thursday, Decades will air 12 out of the 13 episodes from the fourth season of "Adventures of Superman", followed by Reeves taking flight for a super-guest appearance opposite Lucille Ball on the 1957 episode of "I Love Lucy" entitled "Lucy and Superman". A year after his death, Reeves posthumously received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ben Affleck - aka the Bat of Gotham in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" opposite Henry Cavill's Son of Krypton - received rave reviews playing Reeves in the 2006 film "Hollywoodland" with Oscar winner Adrian Brody as a private detective who hopes to make a name for himself by investigating the actor's death.
You can also catch reruns of "The Adventures of Superman" every Saturday night on Me-TV.
