Utrecht 'Te Deum' and 'Jubilate' is a sacred choral composition in two parts, written by Händel to celebrate the Treaty of Utrecht, which established the Peace of Utrecht in 1713, ending the War of the Spanish Succession.
The combination of a Te Deum and Jubilate (Psalm 100) follows earlier models. It was his first commission from the British royal family and established his career in London, and it was also his first major sacred work to English texts. Händel followed the models of Henry Purcell's 1694 Te Deum and Jubilate with strings and trumpets, which was regularly performed for official functions in St Paul's even after the composer's death, and a 1709 setting by William Croft. As in these models, Händel composed a combination of two liturgical texts, the Ambrosian Hymn Te Deum, We praise thee, O God, and a setting of Psalm 100, O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands, which is a regular canticle of the Anglican Morning Prayer. He followed the version of the Book of Common Prayer. The Te Deum and Jubilate, along with another composition "As Pants the Hart", earned Händel a yearly income from Queen Anne's Court. Donald Burrows writes in "Handel and the English Chapel Royal" that "his close association with the Court, reinforced by his musical contribution to events that were personal to the royal family, gave him both the benefits and the disadvantages of identification with the Hanoverian establishment." However, at the time his annual pension was granted it would not have been obvious that he was going to continue to enjoy the favour of the future George I, who was in fact opposed to the Treaty of Utrecht.
In the Te Deum, Händel inserted short solos to achieve a variety of textures as in a concerto grosso, to express the words. In movement 2, the two alto soloists begin together "To Thee all Angels cry aloud" on a base of three times "the heavn and all the pow'rs therein" in unison octaves of the choir. In movement 3, the announcement "To Thee Cherubin and Seraphim continually do cry" is rendered by two sopranos, whereas the full choir enters the homophon statement "Holy, holy, holy". Similarly, in movement 4 a tenor soloist sings of the "glorious Company of the Apostles", the bass soloist continues "the goodly fellowship", then the soprano soloists' "The noble army of martyrs praise Thee" leads to a tutti "The holy church", the movement culminates in an adagio on the words "The father of an infinite majesty" and concludes in runs in imitation on the word "glory". The beginning of movement 5 has been compared to Renaissance music: an alto soloist refers to "the Virgin's womb", the following "sharpness of death" is expressed by four soloists a cappella, contrasted by the choir's "Thou didst open the Kingdom of heav'n". Händel signed the last page of the Te Deum by SDG (Soli Deo Gloria -- To the only God glory).
The work was first performed in a public dress rehearsal on 5 March 1713 in St Paul's Cathedral. The official premiere took place after the tedious peace negotiations had finished, in a solemn thanksgiving service on 7 July 1713.

In the Jubilate, only the first movement is for solo and choir, an alto soloist, who exposes a coloratura theme, which the choir repeats. Movement 1 is adapted from "Laudate Pueri" which Handel composed for his Carmelite Vespers in Rome. Movement 3 is an introspective duet of alto and bass solo, with solo oboe and violin, based on the first movement of Handel's A mirarvi io son intento (HWV 178), composed in 1711 in Hanover. In movement 5 three low voices expand on For the Lord is gracious. All other movements are set for the choir.

Handlung:
Autoschlosser Ali Kuslowski glaubt, dass zahlreiche Unfälle in seiner Werkstatt durch übernatürliche Dinge verursacht worden seien. Sein Vorgesetzter Kalle Sengebusch hält Ali für einen Spinner und will unter anderem deswegen verhindern, dass seine Tochter Ina sich weiterhin mit Ali trifft.
Ali rekonstruiert derweil das erste Unglück: Der biedere Buchhalter Piel fuhr eines Tages zum Angeln und schlief am See ein. Während er träumte, tanzten auf einer nahe gelegenen Wiese die Waldfeen. Piel fand wenig später im Kofferraum seines Trabant eine Waldfee, die sich als Geschwindigkeitsfanatikerin entpuppte und Piel immer öfter dazu brachte, weit über Höchstgeschwindigkeit die Landstrassen zu befahren. Erst als die Fee Gefallen an Motorrädern fand, wurde Piel sie los. Ihr Blumenkranz lag jedoch immer noch auf dem Beifahrersitz, als Piel den Trabant in die Werkstatt brachte.
Ulrich Neumann wiederum brachte eine schwarze Katze Unglück, die Neumanns Sohn auf dem Arm in der Werkstatt herumträgt. Diese Katze fand Neumann einst in einer Mülltonne und rettete sie. Kurz darauf verwandelte sich die Mülltonne in einen Luxuswagen, die Katze rezitierte Goethes Mephisto und bot Neumann einen Pakt an: seine Seele gegen den Besitz des Wagens. Nach einigem Zögern willigte Neumann ein und unterzeichnete den Pakt Seele gegen „Automobil der Sonderklasse". Der Wagen wurde bestaunt, doch erwies er sich als Spritfresser. Neumann wiederum wurde immer herzloser gegen seine Kinder und seine Frau. Als er selbst den Wagen verflucht, wird er von der Motorhaube aufgefressen und der Wagen verwandelt sich zurück in eine Mülltonne.
Kalle glaubt nicht an Alis Geschichten und jagt ihn aus dem Haus, als er Ali im Bett seiner Tochter erwischt. Auf seinem Weg in die Werkstatt nimmt Kalle im Regen einen Anhalter mit, der sich ihm als Automobilunglück vorstellt. Kalle hält auch ihn für einen Spinner, doch entschuldigt sich das Unglück bereits im Voraus dafür, dass es seinen Wagen bei Ankunft in der Werkstatt zerstören wird. Tatsächlich brechen die Radachsen, kurz nachdem Kalle in der Werkstatt angekommen ist. Das Unglück verschafft ihm als Ersatz ein Motorrad, indem es einen Bekannten Kalles vor Kalles Wohnung einen schweren Unfall verursachen lässt. Kalle berät sich mit einer Nachbarin, wie gegen Geister vorzugehen sei, und die rät ihm, drei Haare einer Jungfrau bei sich zu tragen. Kalle trägt von nun an drei Haare seiner Tochter bei sich. Das Unglück wiederum bietet ihm an, die Materialknappheit in der Werkstatt zu beheben, indem es Kalle im Voraus verschiedene Unfälle verrät. Neben dem Schrott würden so für die Werkstatt auch immer funktionierende Ersatzteile abfallen. Kalle jedoch fährt stets zum vorhergesagten Unfallort und kann die Unfälle verhindern.
Eine Massenkarambolage auf der Autobahn findet statt, weil der verursachende Fahrer sich von Kalle auf einer Raststätte nicht aufhalten lässt. Bei dem nächsten Unfall erscheint auch das Unglück am geplanten Ort, weil die vielen fehlgeschlagenen Vorhersagen es haben misstrauisch werden lassen. Zwischen dem Unglück und Kalle kommt es zum Zweikampf, durch den der vorhergesagte Unfall nicht geschieht. Als das Unglück Kalle anschliessend zu überfahren versucht, bleibt Kalle unverletzt. Er verspottet das Unglück, da er doch durch drei Jungfrauenhaare geschützt werde. Das Unglück gibt auf und verschwindet mit einer grossen Explosion. Wenig später erscheinen Ali und Ina und eröffnen Kalle, dass er Grossvater wird -- Ina ist im dritten Monat schwanger. Kalle bleibt verdutzt zurück.

Wenige Wochen vor der Befreiung kommt der Pole Jankowski mit einem Transport ins KZ Buchenwald. Er trägt einen Koffer bei sich, den er nicht aus der Hand geben will. Die in der Effektenkammer arbeitenden Häftlinge Pippig und Höfel erschrecken zutiefst, als sie ein Kind in dem Koffer entdecken. Das Kind im Lager zu verbergen, ist nicht nur äußerst schwierig, es gefährdet auch die Arbeit der illegalen Widerstandsgruppe. Nachdem das Kind mehrere Tage in der Effektenkammer versteckt wurde, entscheidet der Leiter der illegalen KP-Organisation schweren Herzens, den Polen und das Kind mit dem nächsten Transport ins Vernichtungslager zu schicken. Der Lagerälteste, Walter Krämer, läßt es jedoch nicht zu, und er findet viele Helfer, die mit Mut und Einfallsreichtum der SS die Stirn bieten und der Menschlichkeit zu einem Sieg verhelfen.

SiebenSagen - Eine Ruhrsinfonie enstand als Auftragskomposition des philharmonischen Orchesters Hagen mit der Unterstützung des Lions Club Hagen-Mark.
Uraufgeführt wurde das Werk am 3. Juli 2011 anlässlich des dritten Familienkonzertes der Spielzeit 2010/2011, bei dem zahlreiche Schulklassen an der gestalterischen Umsetzung der sieben Sagen aus dem Ruhrgebiet beteiligt waren.

George Frideric Handel (German: Georg Friedrich Händel; pronounced [ˈhɛndəl]) (23 February 1685 – 14 April 1759) was a German-British Baroque composer, famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems and organ concertos. Handel was born in 1685, in a family indifferent to music. He received critical musical training in Halle, Hamburg and Italy before settling in London (1712) and becoming a naturalised British subject in 1727. By then he was strongly influenced by the great composers of the Italian Baroque and the middle-German polyphonic choral tradition.
Within fifteen years, Handel, a dramatic genius, started three commercial opera companies to supply the English nobility with Italian opera, but the public came to hear the vocal bravura of the soloists rather than the music. In 1737 he had a physical breakdown, changed direction creatively and addressed the middle class. As Alexander's Feast (1736) was well received, Handel made a transition to English choral works. After his success with Messiah (1742) he never performed an Italian opera again. Handel was only partly successful with his performances of English Oratorio on mythical and biblical themes, but when he arranged a performance of Messiah to benefit the Foundling Hospital (1750) the critique ended. The pathos of Handel's oratorios is an ethical one. They are hallowed not by liturgical dignity but by the moral ideals of humanity. Almost blind, and having lived in England for almost fifty years, he died a respected and rich man.

In the Te Deum, Händel inserted short solos to achieve a variety of textures as in a concerto grosso, to express the words. In movement 2, the two alto soloists begin together "To Thee all Angels cry aloud" on a base of three times "the heavn and all the pow'rs therein" in unison octaves of the choir. In movement 3, the announcement "To Thee Cherubin and Seraphim continually do cry" is rendered by two sopranos, whereas the full choir enters the homophon statement "Holy, holy, holy". Similarly, in movement 4 a tenor soloist sings of the "glorious Company of the Apostles", the bass soloist continues "the goodly fellowship", then the soprano soloists' "The noble army of martyrs praise Thee" leads to a tutti "The holy church", the movement culminates in an adagio on the words "The father of an infinite majesty" and concludes in runs in imitation on the word "glory". The beginning of movement 5 has been compared to Renaissance music: an alto soloist refers to "the Virgin's womb", the following "sharpness of death" is expressed by four soloists a cappella, contrasted by the choir's "Thou didst open the Kingdom of heav'n". Sein Vorgesetzter Kalle Sengebusch hält Ali für einen Spinner und will unter anderem deswegen verhindern, dass seine Tochter Ina sich weiterhin mit Ali trifft. Ali rekonstruiert derweil das erste Unglück: Der biedere Buchhalter Piel fuhr eines Tages zum Angeln und schlief am See ein. Während er träumte, tanzten auf einer nahe gelegenen Wiese die Waldfeen. Piel fand wenig später im Kofferraum seines Trabant eine Waldfee, die sich als Geschwindigkeitsfanatikerin entpuppte und Piel immer öfter dazu brachte, weit über Höchstgeschwindigkeit die Landstrassen zu befahren. Erst als die Fee Gefallen an Motorrädern fand, wurde Piel sie los. Ihr Blumenkranz lag jedoch immer noch auf dem Beifahrersitz, als Piel den Trabant in die Werkstatt brachte. Ulrich Neumann wiederum brachte eine schwarze Katze Unglück, die Neumanns Sohn auf dem Arm in der Werkstatt herumträgt. Diese Katze fand Neumann einst in einer Mülltonne und rettete sie. Kurz darauf verwandelte sich die Mülltonne in einen Luxuswagen, die Katze rezitierte Goethes Mephisto und bot Neumann einen Pakt an: seine Seele gegen den Besitz des Wagens. Nach einigem Zögern willigte Neumann ein und unterzeichnete den Pakt Seele gegen „Automobil der Sonderklasse". Der Wagen wurde bestaunt, doch erwies er sich als Spritfresser. Neumann wiederum wurde immer herzloser gegen seine Kinder und seine Frau. Als er selbst den Wagen verflucht, wird er von der Motorhaube aufgefressen und der Wagen verwandelt sich zurück in eine Mülltonne. Kalle glaubt nicht an Alis Geschichten und jagt ihn aus dem Haus, als er Ali im Bett seiner Tochter erwischt. Auf seinem Weg in die Werkstatt nimmt Kalle im Regen einen Anhalter mit, der sich ihm als Automobilunglück vorstellt. Kalle hält auch ihn für einen Spinner, doch entschuldigt sich das Unglück bereits im Voraus dafür, dass es seinen Wagen bei Ankunft in der Werkstatt zerstören wird. Tatsächlich brechen die Radachsen, kurz nachdem Kalle in der Werkstatt angekommen ist. Das Unglück verschafft ihm als Ersatz ein Motorrad, indem es einen Bekannten Kalles vor Kalles Wohnung einen schweren Unfall verursachen lässt. Kalle berät sich mit einer Nachbarin, wie gegen Geister vorzugehen sei, und die rät ihm, drei Haare einer Jungfrau bei sich zu tragen. Kalle trägt von nun an drei Haare seiner Tochter bei sich. Das Unglück wiederum bietet ihm an, die Materialknappheit in der Werkstatt zu beheben, indem es Kalle im Voraus verschiedene Unfälle verrät. Neben dem Schrott würden so für die Werkstatt auch immer funktionierende Ersatzteile abfallen. Kalle jedoch fährt stets zum vorhergesagten Unfallort und kann die Unfälle verhindern. Eine Massenkarambolage auf der Autobahn findet statt, weil der verursachende Fahrer sich von Kalle auf einer Raststätte nicht aufhalten lässt. Bei dem nächsten Unfall erscheint auch das Unglück am geplanten Ort, weil die vielen fehlgeschlagenen Vorhersagen es haben misstrauisch werden lassen. Zwischen dem Unglück und Kalle kommt es zum Zweikampf, durch den der vorhergesagte Unfall nicht geschieht. Als das Unglück Kalle anschliessend zu überfahren versucht, bleibt Kalle unverletzt. Er verspottet das Unglück, da er doch durch drei Jungfrauenhaare geschützt werde. Das Unglück gibt auf und verschwindet mit einer grossen Explosion. Wenig später erscheinen Ali und Ina und eröffnen Kalle, dass er Grossvater wird -- Ina ist im dritten Monat schwanger. Kalle bleibt verdutzt zurück. -

Das Kind im Lager zu verbergen, ist nicht nur äußerst schwierig, es gefährdet auch die Arbeit der illegalen Widerstandsgruppe. Nachdem das Kind mehrere Tage in der Effektenkammer versteckt wurde, entscheidet der Leiter der illegalen KP-Organisation schweren Herzens, den Polen und das Kind mit dem nächsten Transport ins Vernichtungslager zu schicken. Der Lagerälteste, Walter Krämer, läßt es jedoch nicht zu, und er findet viele Helfer, die mit Mut und Einfallsreichtum der SS die Stirn bieten und der Menschlichkeit zu einem Sieg verhelfen. Utrecht 'Te Deum' and 'Jubilate' is a sacred choral composition in two parts, written by Händel to celebrate the Treaty of Utrecht, which established the Peace of Utrecht in 1713, ending the War of the Spanish Succession.
The combination of a Te Deum and Jubilate (Psalm 100) follows earlier models. It was his first commission from the British royal family and established his career in London, and it was also his first major sacred work to English texts. Händel followed the models of Henry Purcell's 1694 Te Deum and Jubilate with strings and trumpets, which was regularly performed for official functions in St Paul's even after the composer's death, and a 1709 setting by William Croft. As in these models, Händel composed a combination of two liturgical texts, the Ambrosian Hymn Te Deum, We praise thee, O God, and a setting of Psalm 100, O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands, which is a regular canticle of the Anglican Morning Prayer. He followed the version of the Book of Common Prayer. The Te Deum and Jubilate, along with another composition "As Pants the Hart", earned Händel a yearly income from Queen Anne's Court. Donald Burrows writes in "Handel and the English Chapel Royal" that "his close association with the Court, reinforced by his musical contribution to events that were personal to the royal family, gave him both the benefits and the disadvantages of identification with the Hanoverian establishment." However, at the time his annual pension was granted it would not have been obvious that he was going to continue to enjoy the favour of the future George I, who was in fact opposed to the Treaty of Utrecht.
In the Te Deum, Händel inserted short solos to achieve a variety of textures as in a concerto grosso, to express the words. In movement 2, the two alto soloists begin together "To Thee all Angels cry aloud" on a base of three times "the heavn and all the pow'rs therein" in unison octaves of the choir. In movement 3, the announcement "To Thee Cherubin and Seraphim continually do cry" is rendered by two sopranos, whereas the full choir enters the homophon statement "Holy, holy, holy". Similarly, in movement 4 a tenor soloist sings of the "glorious Company of the Apostles", the bass soloist continues "the goodly fellowship", then the soprano soloists' "The noble army of martyrs praise Thee" leads to a tutti "The holy church", the movement culminates in an adagio on the words "The father of an infinite majesty" and concludes in runs in imitation on the word "glory". The beginning of movement 5 has been compared to Renaissance music: an alto soloist refers to "the Virgin's womb", the following "sharpness of death" is expressed by four soloists a cappella, contrasted by the choir's "Thou didst open the Kingdom of heav'n". Händel signed the last page of the Te Deum by SDG (Soli Deo Gloria -- To the only God glory).

Movement 1 is adapted from "Laudate Pueri" which Handel composed for his Carmelite Vespers in Rome. Movement 3 is an introspective duet of alto and bass solo, with solo oboe and violin, based on the first movement of Handel's A mirarvi io son intento (HWV 178), composed in 1711 in Hanover. In movement 5 three low voices expand on For the Lord is gracious. All other movements are set for the choir.

Handlung:
Autoschlosser Ali Kuslowski glaubt, dass zahlreiche Unfälle in seiner Werkstatt durch übernatürliche Dinge verursacht worden seien. Sein Vorgesetzter Kalle Sengebusch hält Ali für einen Spinner und will unter anderem deswegen verhindern, dass seine Tochter Ina sich weiterhin mit Ali trifft.
Ali rekonstruiert derweil das erste Unglück: Der biedere Buchhalter Piel fuhr eines Tages zum Angeln und schlief am See ein. Während er träumte, tanzten auf einer nahe gelegenen Wiese die Waldfeen. Piel fand wenig später im Kofferraum seines Trabant eine Waldfee, die sich als Geschwindigkeitsfanatikerin entpuppte und Piel immer öfter dazu brachte, weit über Höchstgeschwindigkeit die Landstrassen zu befahren. Erst als die Fee Gefallen an Motorrädern fand, wurde Piel sie los. Ihr Blumenkranz lag jedoch immer noch auf dem Beifahrersitz, als Piel den Trabant in die Werkstatt brachte.
Ulrich Neumann wiederum brachte eine schwarze Katze Unglück, die Neumanns Sohn auf dem Arm in der Werkstatt herumträgt. Diese Katze fand Neumann einst in einer Mülltonne und rettete sie. Kurz darauf verwandelte sich die Mülltonne in einen Luxuswagen, die Katze rezitierte Goethes Mephisto und bot Neumann einen Pakt an: seine Seele gegen den Besitz des Wagens. Handlung:
Autoschlosser Ali Kuslowski glaubt, dass zahlreiche Unfälle in seiner Werkstatt durch übernatürliche Dinge verursacht worden seien. Sein Vorgesetzter Kalle Sengebusch hält Ali für einen Spinner und will unter anderem deswegen verhindern, dass seine Tochter Ina sich weiterhin mit Ali trifft.
Ali rekonstruiert derweil das erste Unglück: Der biedere Buchhalter Piel fuhr eines Tages zum Angeln und schlief am See ein. Während er träumte, tanzten auf einer nahe gelegenen Wiese die Waldfeen. Piel fand wenig später im Kofferraum seines Trabant eine Waldfee, die sich als Geschwindigkeitsfanatikerin entpuppte und Piel immer öfter dazu brachte, weit über Höchstgeschwindigkeit die Landstrassen zu befahren. Erst als die Fee Gefallen an Motorrädern fand, wurde Piel sie los. Ihr Blumenkranz lag jedoch immer noch auf dem Beifahrersitz, als Piel den Trabant in die Werkstatt brachte.
Ulrich Neumann wiederum brachte eine schwarze Katze Unglück, die Neumanns Sohn auf dem Arm in der Werkstatt herumträgt. Diese Katze fand Neumann einst in einer Mülltonne und rettete sie. Kurz darauf verwandelte sich die Mülltonne in einen Luxuswagen, die Katze rezitierte Goethes Mephisto und bot Neumann einen Pakt an: seine Seele gegen den Besitz des Wagens. Die in der Effektenkammer arbeitenden Häftlinge Pippig und Höfel erschrecken zutiefst, als sie ein Kind in dem Koffer entdecken. Das Kind im Lager zu verbergen, ist nicht nur äußerst schwierig, es gefährdet auch die Arbeit der illegalen Widerstandsgruppe. Nachdem das Kind mehrere Tage in der Effektenkammer versteckt wurde, entscheidet der Leiter der illegalen KP-Organisation schweren Herzens, den Polen und das Kind mit dem nächsten Transport ins Vernichtungslager zu schicken. Der Lagerälteste, Walter Krämer, läßt es jedoch nicht zu, und er findet viele Helfer, die mit Mut und Einfallsreichtum der SS die Stirn bieten und der Menschlichkeit zu einem Sieg verhelfen.

Zu Kriegsende liegt auch die Dresdener Zigarettenfabrik in Schutt und Asche. Obwohl Nichtraucher, blutet Kalle das Herz – schließlich war es seine Arbeitsstätte. Um sie wieder aufzubauen, braucht man vor allem Karbid zum Schweißen. Kalle hat eine Quelle in Wittenberg. Er macht sich auf den Weg dorthin und muß nun – mit sieben Fässern – zurück per Anhalter. Das Abenteuer läßt sich gut an. Die sympathische Karla nimmt ihn ein Stück in ihrem Fuhrwerk mit. Am liebsten würde er bei ihr bleiben, aber die Pflicht treibt ihn weiter. Daß er zurückkommen wird, ist versprochen. Sein einziges Zahlungsmittel, Zigaretten, nimmt ihm ein LKW-Fahrer für eine kleine Wegstrecke ab. Bis er Dresden erreicht, muß er sich noch vom Verdacht der Plünderei reinwaschen, einen Schiffbruch überstehen, sich eines geschäftstüchtigen US-Offiziers und einer mannstollen Witwe entledigen.

Im Folgenden zeige ich euch mein Let's Play mit den Sueben, einem der wohl prominentesten Stämme der Germanen. Lange Zeit wurde dieser Begriff stellvertretend für alle germanischen Stämme verwendet. Woher das Wort „Germanen" jedoch genau stammt, ist immer noch nicht genau geklärt.
Die ersten Schriftstücke, welche „Germanen" erwähnen, stammen von den Griechen noch weit bevor die Germanen Kontakte zu den Römern hatten. Schriftliche Zeugnisse haben die Germanen und insbesondere die Sueben selbst kaum hinterlassen -- von wenigen Runeninschriften abgesehen. So stützen sich viele Erklärungen und Überlieferung auf Berichte aus dem 9. Jahrhundert und deutlich später. Es ist diese historische Unsicherheit, die heute auch noch für vielerlei Spekulationen um die Germanen sorgt und sie immer noch mit einem mythischen Schleier bedeckt.
