Inspelat på Draken i Göteborg december 2015 under en av föreställningarna av Magnus Betnérs turné Work in Progress.
Work in Progress var en turné 2015-2016 för att få ihop material till nästa stora konserthusturné som kommer heta En Skam för Sverige 2. Hela turnén började med att Magnus Betnér gjorde 3 kvällar med 40 minuter helt olika material. Något ingen svensk komiker har gjort förut och förmodligen inte kommer göra igen heller. Det resulterade i alla fall i att det blev en massa roliga och intressanta grejer "över" så det blev en liten mellan-special på 33 minuter. Ett intermezzo, om man så vill.
Den kommer släppas som betalklipp här på kanalen 25:e mars 2016 och mer info kommer på bloggen, men kort så kommer det bli så här: 19 spänn att hyra, 39 spänn att köpa. Priset kanske sänks om någon månad eller två, det vet vi inte. 25:e september kommer det läggas upp en version som inte är HD och med reklam för den som vill se den "gratis" den kommer också släppas på spotify i samma veva. Så vet ni EXAKT.

The famous Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, the sensational verismo opera composed by Pietro Mascagni (1863-1945). Written in great haste, for submission to a competition, it was his first operatic work. It won first prize, Mascagni received forty curtain calls, and next morning the Intermezzo was being whistled in the streets. Cavalleria Rusticana went on to take the world by storm, and by the time Mascagni died it had been performed over fourteen thousand times in Italy alone.
This orchestral interlude, the most popular excerpt from the opera, is intensely dramatic and comes at a crucial point in the story. Played over the setting of an empty square, the villagers having gathered for a church service, it is itself a moment of quiet, a brief respite from the naked emotions of the drama. At the same time, however, it looks back over the mounting passion and betrayal that preceded it, and foreshadows the bloodshed and tragedy to come.

Il maestro Riccardo Muti dirige magistralmente il celeberrimo 'Intermezzo" della Cavalleria Rusticana, del grande musicista livornese Pietro Mascagni e registrata al Festival di Ravenna del 1996 con l'Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
Mascagni compose la Cavalleria Rusticana alla giovane età di ventisette annie e fu la sua prima opera in assoluto. E' stata presentata per la prima volta a Roma il 17 maggio 1890 al Teatro Costanzi, su libretto di Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti e Guido Menasci ed è stata tratta dall'omonima novella del famoso scrittore catanese Giovanni Verga. Le scene si svolgono in un piccolo paese siciliano con protagonisti Turiddu (Salvatore in lingua italiana), Santuzza (diminutivo in lingua siciliana del nome Santa), Lola, Lucia e Alfio. La trama è una drammatica storia d'amore che si conclude con la morte di Turiddu che viene ucciso.
Il pezzo principale dell'opera ha fatto da sfondo ad una delle più celebri scene della storia del cinema, ne "Il Padrino" - Parte III, dove sulla scalinata del famoso Teatro Massimo di Palermo si consuma una strage di mafia.
L'Intermezzo è stato utilizzato da Martin Scorsese nei titoli di testa del suo film "Toro scatenato".
La musica è stata ripresa da Vasco Rossi nell'Intro dei live 2007.
L'Intermezzo è stato utilizzato, anche, in una scena dell'episodio 31 dell'anime Kenshin Samurai vagabondo.

In music, an intermezzo (Italian pronunciation: [ˌintɛrˈmɛddzo], plural: intermezzi), in the most general sense, is a composition which fits between other musical or dramatic entities, such as acts of a play or movements of a larger musical work. In music history, the term has had several different usages, which fit into two general categories: the opera intermezzo and the instrumental intermezzo.
The Renaissance intermezzo (plural: intermezzi) was also called the intermedio. It was a masque-like dramatic piece with music, which was performed between the acts of a play at Italian court festivities on special occasions, especially weddings. By the late 16th century, the intermezzo had become the most spectacular form of dramatic performance, and an important precursor to opera. The most famous examples were created for Medici weddings in 1539, 1565, and 1589.
The intermezzo, in the 18th century, was a comic operatic interlude inserted between acts or scenes of an opera seria. These intermezzi could be substantial and complete works themselves, though they were shorter than the opera seria which enclosed them; typically they provided comic relief and dramatic contrast to the tone of the bigger opera around them, and often they used one or more of the stock characters from the opera or from the commedia dell'arte. In this they were the reverse of the Renaissance intermezzo, which usually had a mythological or pastoral subject as a contrast to a main comic play. Often they were of a burlesque nature, and characterized by slapstick comedy, disguises, dialect, and ribaldry. The most famous of all intermezzi from the period is Pergolesi's La serva padrona, which was an opera buffa that after the death of Pergolesi kicked off the Querelle des Bouffons.

Work in Progress var en turné 2015-2016 för att få ihop material till nästa stora konserthusturné som kommer heta En Skam för Sverige 2. Hela turnén började med att Magnus Betnér gjorde 3 kvällar med 40 minuter helt olika material. Något ingen svensk komiker har gjort förut och förmodligen inte kommer göra igen heller. Det resulterade i alla fall i att det blev en massa roliga och intressanta grejer "över" så det blev en liten mellan-special på 33 minuter. Ett intermezzo, om man så vill. The famous Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, the sensational verismo opera composed by Pietro Mascagni (1863-1945). Written in great haste, for submission to a competition, it was his first operatic work. It won first prize, Mascagni received forty curtain calls, and next morning the Intermezzo was being whistled in the streets. Cavalleria Rusticana went on to take the world by storm, and by the time Mascagni died it had been performed over fourteen thousand times in Italy alone. This orchestral interlude, the most popular excerpt from the opera, is intensely dramatic and comes at a crucial point in the story. Il maestro Riccardo Muti dirige magistralmente il celeberrimo 'Intermezzo" della Cavalleria Rusticana, del grande musicista livornese Pietro Mascagni e registrata al Festival di Ravenna del 1996 con l'Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Mascagni compose la Cavalleria Rusticana alla giovane età di ventisette annie e fu la sua prima opera in assoluto.
