6/23/2016 -- Global Earthquake Forecast -- West Coast Watch + Pacific Unrest this week
This forecast covers the next
7 days of expected earthquake activity in the
Pacific,
North -
Central -
South America,
Asia,
Europe, and the
Mideast.
We are expecting to see M5.0 activity return to the
Southwest United States, and M4.0 to M5.0 activity to strike the
Northwest coast of the
United States (possibly as far
South as the
Northern California coast near
Eureka).
The M5.0 threat exists from
Los Angeles near the pumping operations all the way
East to
South Nevada / Northwest
Arizona.
The earthquake swarm at
Salton Sea should cause an ADDITIONAL larger earthquake to the South in
Baja California ,
Gulf of California at least 1 magnitude larger than the largest recent event
.. the largest recent earthquake at Salton Sea volcano was a M3.9 occurring one day ago on June 22, 2016.
The craton edge should move as well, this means midwestern states including
Colorado,
Utah,
Texas,
Oklahoma, and
Kansas will see another round of supposedly "rare" earthquakes. These once rare earthquakes are now becoming commonplace as the fracking operations in each state are the new "weak points" where the seismic pressure is finding a place to release on its way
Eastward across the craton.
The East coast (
New england into
Ontario /
Quebec) should watch for M3.0 range earthquakes this week after the
West coast begins moving near
California. The pressure always transfers from the West coast to the
East coast within a week, and grows less intense as the pressure releases across the plate at the fracking / oil pumping operations in the midwest (Oklahoma + Kansas absorb the pressure , whatever is left over presses to the East coast and releases in the
Northeast on the edge of the craton).
In Asia,
Japan needs to be on watch for a larger earthquake to strike above the M6.0 range (or a swarm of mid M5.0 which would = one larger event).
West Pacific should watch next to each deep earthquake location for at least 1-2 magnitudes larger to strike at a shallow depth this week. Thus the deep M5.0 earthquakes should cause shallow M6.5 range earthquakes within a few days or less. The deep M6.3 should cause a shallow M7.3 or greater in a nearby area this week. Meaning
Papua New Guinea,
Solomon Sea,
Indonesia,
Philippines, into Japan / Izu ridge should watch for larger movement to strike.
Europe and the Mideast.. new eruption possible in
Iceland from
Mount Hekla , this could send ash toward
North Europe. Additionally, M4.0 earthquakes should return to
France this week, as well as larger upper M5.0 to lower M6.0 in
Italy to
Greece (
South Europe /
Mediterranean).
