Rodeo Drive ( /roʊˈdeɪ.oʊ/) of Beverly Hills, California is a shopping district known for designer label and haute couture fashion. The name generally refers to a three-block long stretch of boutiques and shops but the street stretches further north and south. Rodeo Drive is mostly frequented by tourists as celebrities usually shop in more discreet areas of Los Angeles.
On August 3, 1769 (when California was part of Mexico), Don José Gaspar de Portolà, the first governor of provincial California, and his entourage, the Portola expedition, became the first Europeans known to arrive in the area, having traveled an existing Indian trail (present-day Wilshire Boulevard) to the present-day site of La Cienega Park, named for a large swamp — "ciénega" in Spanish —
While Portolà fell somewhat short of reaching Cíbola, the expedition's chaplain, Friar Juan Crespí, wrote in his journal of
" [a] large vineyard of wild grapes and an infinity of rose bushes. After traveling about half a league we came to a village of this region. People came into the road, greeted us and offered seeds."
Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of fourteen to pursue a career in country music. She signed to the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. The release of Swift's self-titled debut album in 2006 established her as a country music star. "Our Song", her third single, made her the youngest sole writer and singer of a number one song on the country chart. She received a Best New Artist nomination at the 50th Grammy Awards.
Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in late 2008. Buoyed by the chart success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", Fearless attracted a crossover audience and became the top-selling album of 2009. The record won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest ever Album of the Year winner. Fearless also received Album of the Year plaudits at the American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Association Awards, making it the most awarded album in country music history. In 2010, Swift released her third album, Speak Now, which sold over one million copies in its first week. She then embarked on the 111-date Speak Now World Tour, which was attended by over 1.6 million fans and has become one of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. The album's third single, "Mean", won two Grammy Awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. Swift is currently recording her fourth studio album, due for release in the fall of 2012.

As Donna Summer serenades
the creatures of the night
Scott gets his hair just perfect
and turns into the light
then in his red Mercedes
with all his moves down tight
he goes out hunting leopard
in the California night
Chorus
On Rodeo Drive
Little orphan Cindy
changed her name to Scarlett Hood
then flew from Fort Worth Texas
to a place called Hollywood
she doesn't talk to strangers
but she can feel their eyes
that's where she comes alive
down on Rodeo Drive
Bridge
And ooh between those dead and empty echoes
lovers eat each other with their eyes
then cry out now in pain
cause the moment never came
so they close their eyes again
to no surprise
Somewhere in the city
you can hear the sirens sound
as the big man gets his driver
to bring the car around
he started out with nothing
just the scuffle nine to five
now he works the dream machine
down on Rodeo Drive
