Southern California, often abbreviated SoCal, is a geographic and cultural region that generally comprises California's southernmost 10 counties. The region is traditionally described as "eight counties", based on demographics and economic ties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. The more extensive 10-county definition, including Kern and San Luis Obispo counties, is also used based on historical political divisions. Southern California is a major economic center for the state of California and the United States.
The 8- and 10-county definitions are not used for the greater Southern California Megaregion, one of the 11 megaregions of the United States. The megaregion's area is more expansive, extending east into Las Vegas, Nevada, and south across the Mexican border into Tijuana.
California (i/ˌkælᵻˈfɔːrnjə/ KAL-ə-FORN-yə, /ˌkælᵻˈfɔːrniə/ KAL-ə-FAWR-nee-ə) is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is the most populous U.S. state, with 39 million people, and the third largest state by area (after Alaska and Texas). California is bordered by Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east, Arizona to the southeast, and the Mexican state of Baja California to the south. It contains the nation's second most populous census statistical area (Greater Los Angeles Area) and the fifth most populous (San Francisco Bay Area), and eight of the nation's 50 most populated cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach, and Oakland). Sacramento has been the state capital since 1854.
What is now California was first settled by various Native American tribes before being explored by a number of European expeditions during the 16th and 17th centuries. It was then claimed by the Spanish Empire as part of Alta California in the larger territory of New Spain. Alta California became a part of Mexico in 1821 following its successful war for independence, but was ceded to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican–American War. The western portion of Alta California was organized as the State of California, which was admitted as the 31st state on September 9, 1850. The California Gold Rush starting in 1848 led to dramatic social and demographic change, with large-scale immigration from the east and abroad with an accompanying economic boom.
A party is a gathering of people who have been invited by a host for the purposes of socializing, conversation, recreation, or as part of a festival or other commemoration of a special occasion. A party will typically feature food and beverages, and often music and dancing or other forms of entertainment. In many Western countries, parties for teens and adults are associated with drinking alcohol such as beer, wine or distilled spirits.
Some parties are held in honor of a specific person, day, or event, such as a birthday party, a Super Bowl party, or a St. Patrick’s Day party. Parties of this kind are often called celebrations. A party is not necessarily a private occasion. Public parties are sometimes held in restaurants, pubs, beer gardens, nightclubs or bars, and people attending such parties may be charged an admission fee by the host. Large parties in public streets may celebrate events such as Mardi Gras or the signing of a peace treaty ending a long war.

I hope you guys enjoy this one! Lot's of drama in it.... I did make a mistake in the video in which I forgot to include clips outside of San Diego in the bad drivers section, but some of the misc. clips are from the four other counties I listed, my apologies. Now, as many of you know, I do not have the best upload schedule. Thank you to the most of you who were patient! :) Disclaimer: -I'm not a perfect driver nor do I claim to be. -This is strictly for entertainment. -The camera tends to distort the real-life perception, be regardful of this when judging distance and speed. -Make sure you look up traffic laws for CA before commenting or kindly ask before making accusations; it might be different from where you live. -Remember, Socal's driving culture is unique. -Many of these aren't n...
Lots of honking, a few close calls, but this is mainly of people just not caring. Enjoy! In regards to some requests to put the names of neighborhoods on the corner of each clip, I tried that and I was not happy with the way it turned out, especially with the amount of extra work I would have to put in. If anything, googling street names found in a clip would give you its location if you're curious and you're always welcome to ask. Enjoy! I was a little more cheeky in this one, but it was all well deserved. Intro music credit: Blarsa - Garden Party Disclaimer: I'm not a perfect driver nor do I claim to be. Many of these aren't necessarily "bad drivers", some of these are things that I find interesting on the road and a lot of these are honest mistakes that I've been guilty of and I post my own mistakes at the end.
In this episode, there's less close calls in this one compared to the last, but so much more fury from others. Oh, and I got a new camera! ... I went with a Vantrue N1. It's a great cam for roughy $95 on amazon. The picture quality is decent, though I did have to do some color balancing in the video editor to get the colors that I wanted and I used an audio editor to edit out a high-pitch whine from the camera. It's expected from a camera at that price point, but I cannot complain, and it's far better than using an iPhone as a dashcam! Special thanks to Orlando Dashcam who was extremely helpful in the comments section in my previous video where I asked what I should purchase, and helped reply to others as well. I felt that the drivers the past few weeks were well behaved... that was until I sat down and began editing the video, holy crap. I also really like this intro from the last few ones that I've done. I might stick to this particular opening style if I don't like anything else. With that, enjoy! I know it's been a while, but I've been super busy with school and consequently, I didn't have time to put this together until recently. I'm also making this on a little sleep, so there's bound to be an editing mistake somewhere. I'm also currently working on a dashcamming documentary which is being put together by another member in the dashcam community, DCE (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt8IG_So7n1TENiDJpMMaRA). If there's any sort of dashcamming-related question that you'd like to ask me, feel free to shoot me a PM, and I'll address it in the video. I'm not a perfect driver nor do I claim to be. Quite a bit of anger in this one and not by me... well, at least not most of it. A lot of anger in this one, and not by me (well, at least not most of it). I am not the perfect driver nor do I claim to be and I put my own personal mistakes at the end of my videos. This video is for entertainment purposes, it is not to be used to complain or identify/vilify any individual.
Intro music: "The Cannery" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Well, here is episode 50. I was originally planning to put some of my best captures in the last few minutes of the video, but I figured that a lot the clips that I would've included were overplayed and the vid is already pushing 22 minutes, so I decided to skip it. I'm not a perfect driver nor do I claim to be. This is strictly for entertainment. The camera tends to distort the real-life perception. Remember, Socal's driving culture is unique. Travel video about destination San Diego in the United States of America. For some, San Diego, a coastal city with a wonderful climate, is California's southernmost city, for others it is the northernmost city in Mexico. It is not quite as predictable as other U.S. metropolises and even the skyline promises something different. Palm trees, colorful flowerbeds and wonderful sandy beaches are typical of Southern California and are an open invitation to surfing and relaxation. The exclusivity of the beaches exudes an aura of luxurious living and the grand houses of the Coronado district are among the city's most prestigious. The long distance trains that travel through Amtrak Station connect San Diego with many other Californian cities and also with the bordering city of Santa Fe. The red t...

Sunlight hits a sign and I'm in Union Station
My arms are heavy in their sleeves
Everyone here thinks that I've been on vacation
But I don't ever seem to leave
And all that I can tell you is my love's unfocused
And drifting overseas
Head's all full of context better left unspoken
As scenes from old Pomona dreams come washing over me
No one wants to tell you just how long they've been here
The stars are crawling out their frames
The canvas on the ankle straps is wearing thin, dear
And I can't help but feel the same
When everything in town's been taken down for renovations
The hardest part is finding your way home
Freeway cuts the sky and I'm inside it's suppurations
But Southern California's got this way of creeping up on you
And all that I can tell you is my love's unfocused
And drifting overseas
Head's all full of context better left unspoken
As scenes from old Pomona dreams come washing over me
One last look around and then I'm always leaving
The stars are falling out of tune
Fingers bear the stains of shipping and receiving
These songs that carry me to you
But this is not some list of all the ways I should have loved you
Hold you in my arms and let you down
Turn my crooked smile up to the sky and I'm thinking of you
But Southern California's got me driving home in rental cars
And Southern California's got this way of tearing me and you apart
And you know it's true, California's tearing us apart
And I want it to
But all that I can tell you is my love's unfocused
And drifting overseas
Head's all full of context better left unspoken
