The football pendulum has swung as far as it’s ever been toward the forward pass. In the NFL, there were a record number of passes thrown in 2013. The second-highest number of passes ever thrown came in 2014 — and that doesn’t count the 1,213 sacks of quarterbacks attempting to pass.
