WORLDS MOST EXPENSIVE HOTEL - EMIRATES PALACE in ABU DHABI - LUXURY TRAVEL Inside TOUR
The Emirates Palace is a seven star luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Emirates Palace is located on 1.3 km of private beach and surrounded by 85 hectares of gardens, with 114 domes that are 80 meters high. It is a 30 minute drive from Abu Dhabi airport and 1.5 hours drive from Dubai airport.
The building was designed by architect, John Elliott RIBA, who was Senior Vice President at Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo, (WATG) an international firm specialising in Luxury Hotels. It opened in November 2005 but certain restaurants and spas did not open until 2006. The hotel was built by and is owned by the Abu Dhabi government, and is currently managed by the Kempinski Group.
The costs to build the hotel were 3.9 billion GBP or 11.02 billion AED or about 6 billion USD. The Emirates Palace occupies 850,000m² of floor space. Underground parking allows housing for 2,500 vehicles. There are two swimming pools and spas. The hotel has its own marina and helipad. The Emirates Palace is the second most expensive hotel ever built, only surpassed by Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Room rates at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace rose by more than a quarter last year as guest numbers topped 150,000. A 26 per cent rise in rates helped revenue per available room -- the standard measure used by hotels -- reach one of its highest levels since it opened in 2005, said the hotel manager Alexander Schneider.
"Despite the opening of many other luxury hotels and resorts in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace has continued to achieve a very high performance over the past years," said Mr Schneider.
The hotel, meanwhile, hopes to raise its international profile further -- as a backdrop for film productions. "Emirates Palace is the only venue in the region qualified to offer a unique backdrop for film shootings and to curate a movie premiere screening in its auditorium at the same time," Mr Schneider added.
Abu Dhabi is expected to add as many as 6,000 new hotel rooms over the next three years according to CBRE Middle East, the property broker.
"There is still a lot of supply to come up but that also makes it far more affordable than Dubai and travellers from within the UAE will remain one of its key markets," said Matthew Green, the head of research and consultancy at CBRE. The broker expects hotel occupancy in Abu Dhabi to rise from about 65 per cent in 2012 to about 70 per cent this year.
Emirates Palace is currently focusing on Chinese, Indian and Latin American markets as Etihad Airways funnels more travellers from those countries through the emirate. India is Abu Dhabi's largest tourism market in terms of the number of guests.
Emirates Palace has also become a popular wedding venue for families from India, Russia and China, said Mr Schneider.
The capital's flagship hotel is owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, and is managed by the Geneva-based Kempinski Hotels.
Abu Dhabi hotel operators are benefiting from rising visitor numbers to the country.
In November, Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) reported Dh842 million in operating revenues, an increase of Dh93m during the first nine months of the year compared with the same period in 2012. The company recorded gross profits of Dh95.7m and net profit of Dh58.8m. ADNH's total assets were Dh9.62 billion. Its hotel division, which includes internationally branded owned hotels and its own Al Diar brand, and the retail unit were the main profit generators. The latest additions to ADNH's portfolio to come on stream this year -- Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas, Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach and Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal -- led the charge to top the hotel division's revenues to Dh562m, compared with Dh468m during the same period in 2012.

Após cinco dias tensos de negociação, a Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal (PMDF) invadiu o Torre Palace Hotel usando helicópteros em um assalto aéreo cinematográfico, e concluiu a desocupação do prédio abandonado sem baixas em ambos os lados.
A ação ocorreu por volta das 6h deste domingo (5/6/2016) e durou pouco mais de meia hora. Os invasores resistiram e atearam fogo no alto do prédio, usando um fogão e um botijão de gás.
Eles também atiraram restos de tijolos, telhas e pedras nos policiais, que reagiram com várias bombas de efeito moral. Um dos invasores, atingido por bala de borracha, foi levado para o hospital.
No total, 16 pessoas estavam no prédio, entre elas quatro mulheres e quatro crianças (usadas como escudos humanos), segundo a PM.
Os adultos devem ser encaminhados ao Departamento de Polícia Especializada (DPE) da Polícia Civil, onde devem ser autuados por crimes como tentativa de homicídio, resistência e dano ao patrimônio.
As quatros crianças foram as primeiras a serem retiradas.
Saíram assustadas, no colo dos policiais, e foram atendidas em seguida por equipes do Corpo de Bombeiros e encaminhadas para o Hospital Materno Infantil de Brasília (HMIB).
Todas aparentavam bom estado de saúde.
Um homem foi ferido com uma bala de borracha no rosto, mas sem gravidade. Ele foi levado pelos bombeiros para o Hospital Regional da Asa Norte (HRAN).

Its architectural style is Renaissance revival. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The building opened in 1909 as a full service hotel. Its structural system is a rigid frame. Its facade system is applied masonry, and it has a concrete base. The palace hotel is now housed by apartments and by a restaurant called Face Club.

Part of the Dorchester Collection of luxury hotels, The Palace was built in 1882 as a cluster of private townhouses encircling a courtyard; the 55-story tower was added in the 1970s, creating an atmosphere thats both cozy and opulent. Emirates Palace is located on 1.3 km of private beach and surrounded by 85 hectares of gardens, with 114 domes that are 80 meters high. It is a 30 minute drive from Abu Dhabi airport and 1.5 hours drive from Dubai airport.
The building was designed by architect, John Elliott RIBA, who was Senior Vice President at Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo, (WATG) an international firm specialising in Luxury Hotels. It opened in November 2005 but certain restaurants and spas did not open until 2006. The hotel was built by and is owned by the Abu Dhabi government, and is currently managed by the Kempinski Group.
The costs to build the hotel were 3.9 billion GBP or 11.02 billion AED or about 6 billion USD. The Emirates Palace occupies 850,000m² of floor space. Underground parking allows housing for 2,500 vehicles. There are two swimming pools and spas. The hotel has its own marina and helipad. The Emirates Palace is the second most expensive hotel ever built, only surpassed by Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Room rates at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace rose by more than a quarter last year as guest numbers topped 150,000. A 26 per cent rise in rates helped revenue per available room -- the standard measure used by hotels -- reach one of its highest levels since it opened in 2005, said the hotel manager Alexander Schneider.
"Despite the opening of many other luxury hotels and resorts in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace has continued to achieve a very high performance over the past years," said Mr Schneider.
The hotel, meanwhile, hopes to raise its international profile further -- as a backdrop for film productions. "Emirates Palace is the only venue in the region qualified to offer a unique backdrop for film shootings and to curate a movie premiere screening in its auditorium at the same time," Mr Schneider added.
Abu Dhabi is expected to add as many as 6,000 new hotel rooms over the next three years according to CBRE Middle East, the property broker.
"There is still a lot of supply to come up but that also makes it far more affordable than Dubai and travellers from within the UAE will remain one of its key markets," said Matthew Green, the head of research and consultancy at CBRE. The broker expects hotel occupancy in Abu Dhabi to rise from about 65 per cent in 2012 to about 70 per cent this year.
Emirates Palace is currently focusing on Chinese, Indian and Latin American markets as Etihad Airways funnels more travellers from those countries through the emirate. India is Abu Dhabi's largest tourism market in terms of the number of guests.
Emirates Palace has also become a popular wedding venue for families from India, Russia and China, said Mr Schneider.
The capital's flagship hotel is owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, and is managed by the Geneva-based Kempinski Hotels.
Abu Dhabi hotel operators are benefiting from rising visitor numbers to the country.
In November, Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) reported Dh842 million in operating revenues, an increase of Dh93m during the first nine months of the year compared with the same period in 2012. Após cinco dias tensos de negociação, a Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal (PMDF) invadiu o Torre Palace Hotel usando helicópteros em um assalto aéreo cinematográfico, e concluiu a desocupação do prédio abandonado sem baixas em ambos os lados.
A ação ocorreu por volta das 6h deste domingo (5/6/2016) e durou pouco mais de meia hora. Os invasores resistiram e atearam fogo no alto do prédio, usando um fogão e um botijão de gás.
Eles também atiraram restos de tijolos, telhas e pedras nos policiais, que reagiram com várias bombas de efeito moral. Um dos invasores, atingido por bala de borracha, foi levado para o hospital.
No total, 16 pessoas estavam no prédio, entre elas quatro mulheres e quatro crianças (usadas como escudos humanos), segundo a PM.
Os adultos devem ser encaminhados ao Departamento de Polícia Especializada (DPE) da Polícia Civil, onde devem ser autuados por crimes como tentativa de homicídio, resistência e dano ao patrimônio.
As quatros crianças foram as primeiras a serem retiradas.
Saíram assustadas, no colo dos policiais, e foram atendidas em seguida por equipes do Corpo de Bombeiros e encaminhadas para o Hospital Materno Infantil de Brasília (HMIB).
Todas aparentavam bom estado de saúde.
Um homem foi ferido com uma bala de borracha no rosto, mas sem gravidade. Ele foi levado pelos bombeiros para o Hospital Regional da Asa Norte (HRAN).

Após cinco dias tensos de negociação, a Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal (PMDF) invadiu o Torre Palace Hotel usando helicópteros em um assalto aéreo cinematográfico, e concluiu a desocupação do prédio abandonado sem baixas em ambos os lados.
A ação ocorreu por volta das 6h deste domingo (5/6/2016) e durou pouco mais de meia hora. Os invasores resistiram e atearam fogo no alto do prédio, usando um fogão e um botijão de gás.
Eles também atiraram restos de tijolos, telhas e pedras nos policiais, que reagiram com várias bombas de efeito moral. Um dos invasores, atingido por bala de borracha, foi levado para o hospital.
No total, 16 pessoas estavam no prédio, entre elas quatro mulheres e quatro crianças (usadas como escudos humanos), segundo a PM.
Os adultos devem ser encaminhados ao Departamento de Polícia Especializada (DPE) da Polícia Civil, onde devem ser autuados por crimes como tentativa de homicídio, resistência e dano ao patrimônio.
As quatros crianças foram as primeiras a serem retiradas.
Saíram assustadas, no colo dos policiais, e foram atendidas em seguida por equipes do Corpo de Bombeiros e encaminhadas para o Hospital Materno Infantil de Brasília (HMIB).
Todas aparentavam bom estado de saúde.
Um homem foi ferido com uma bala de borracha no rosto, mas sem gravidade. Ele foi levado pelos bombeiros para o Hospital Regional da Asa Norte (HRAN).

This programme follows Chaikin and partners Dan Graham and Mark Pakenas as they scour through dark, dank and dilapidated structures across the US in hopes of uncovering forgotten pieces of American history. For every item they uncover in such places as the former Pabst Brewing Co. headquarters in Milwaukee, a grist mill in Maryland, and a 170-year-old church in Philadelphia, Chaikin must negotiate its sale from the building's owners, a process that can be the hardest part of his job. But he rarely leaves any site empty-handed. He takes what he buys back to his workshop in Pennsylvania to refurbish before reselling them.

Uma Produção Amadora de Jorge Loures. (JmikeLrelvaL) Agradecimento especial à FOTOGRAFIA NÓBREGA, pela cedência de grande parte das fotos exibidas dos Anos 80. O Hotel Monte Palace, antigo 5 estrelas em conjunto com o Bahia Palace ( atualmente em funcionamento como Hotel de 4 estrelas), funcionou por cerca de ano e meio de Abril de 1989 até finais de 1990. Permaneceu fechado até 2011 sob a vigilância de guardas e cães, que por falta de pagamento abandonaram o edifício, ficando este entregue ao caos total e ao vandalismo. O Hotel possuía 88 quartos, dos quais uma suite presidencial, 4 grandes suites de luxo, 4 quartos duplos com saleta, 27 quartos duplos e 52 suites Juniores. Avec 400 employés, c'est une véritable ruche humaine qui est au service de clients d'exceptions. On pourrait penser que ce palace Cannois est un peu « l'usine » pour ses employés, mais en réalité c'est une véritable famille !
Liliane une femme de chambre de 42 ans va à avoir l'honneur de travailler pour la première fois dans un palace. Le rêve d'une vie pour elle, qui va devoir être à la hauteur de l'exigence de cet établissement dès ses débuts. Quant à Patrick, il est maître d'hôtel depuis 40 ans. Il a sous sa coupe une brigade de 20 personnes : serveurs et chefs de rangs. C'est un chef affable mais très exigeant, surtout quand il s'occupe des apprentis dont il attend un investissement total. Si Sasha se donne à fond, Lesly a encore un peu de mal. À quelques jours de la grande célébration du centenaire de l'hôtel, seront-ils capable du meilleur pour avoir le droit de participer à cet événement exceptionnel ?
