The Wiltshire town of Swindon is located roughly 80 miles west of London on the M4. Swindon has been in serious growth mode in the last 25 years and now has a population of 155,000. The town is now home to a bunch of multi-national companies including Intel and Dolby.
Swindon played host to Radio 1's Big Weekend in 2009 and looks set do the same in 2013 in the towns Lydlard Park. In addition to music, visitors to Swindon shouldn't miss the Arts Centre, The Wyvern Theatre and Swindon's Festival of Literature every Summer.
Famous "Swindonites" include Billionaire James Dyson (of the Vacuum Cleaner fame), TV star Billie Piper and Moody Blues front man Justin Hayward.
