Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has achieved his dream when he took possession of the world’s most expensive Mack truck at a ceremony at King George Square in Brisbane’s central business district today. The Super-Liner took a year to build at the manufacturer’s Wacol headquarters, south-west of Brisbane. According to ABC News, the rig has some of the fanciest extras around, including a six-camera closed-circuit television system, two flat screen television sets, a stone-topped kitchen area, barbecue, double bed and seats with 72,000 stitches of gold thread. It also boasts a solid-gold tiger hood ornament. “This is my dream - am I smiling?” the sultan said of his ‘palace truck’. The price tag is a well-kept secret, but smashes the previous record of A$481,000 for a customised rig. The sultan said he was delighted with the end result. “I have always appreciated Australia’s engineering skills and have collected a few Holden cars over the years. “I am looking forward to showing its workmanship to the people of Johor as soon as the Super-Liner is shipped over,” he said. The sultan ordered the heavy duty rig to tow his power boat around the country. But his first drive will be a charity run when it arrives in Malaysia at the end of this month.

Johor is a Malaysian state, located in the southern portion of Peninsular Malaysia. It is one of the most developed states in Malaysia. The state capital city and royal city of Johor is Johor Bahru, formerly known as Tanjung Puteri (Malay for Princess's Cape). The old state capital is Johor Lama.

Johor is surrounded by Pahang to the north, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan to the northwest, and the Straits of Johor to the south which separates Johor and the Republic of Singapore.

Johor is also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Ta'zim, or "Abode of Dignity", and as Johore in English.

The name "Johor" originated from the Arabic word Jauhar, 'gem/jewel' . Malays tend to name a place after natural objects in great abundance or having visual dominance. Before the name Johor was adopted, the area south of the Muar River to Singapore island was known as Ujong Tanah or 'land's end' in Malay, due to its location at the end of the Malay Peninsula. Coincidentally, Johor is the most southern point of the Asian continental mainland.

Johor Sultan's dream come true with 'Palace Truck'

Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has achieved his dream when he took possession of the world’s most expensive Mack truck at a ceremony at King George Square in Brisbane’s central business district today. The Super-Liner took a year to build at the manufacturer’s Wacol headquarters, south-west of Brisbane. According to ABC News, the rig has some of the fanciest extras around, including a six-camera closed-circuit television system, two flat screen television sets, a stone-topped kitchen area, barbecue, double bed and seats with 72,000 stitches of gold thread. It also boasts a solid-gold tiger hood ornament. “This is my dream - am I smiling?” the sultan said of his ‘palace truck’. The price tag is a well-kept secret, but smashes the previous record of A$481,000 for a customised rig. The sultan said he was delighted with the end result. “I have always appreciated Australia’s engineering skills and have collected a few Holden cars over the years. “I am looking forward to showing its workmanship to the people of Johor as soon as the Super-Liner is shipped over,” he said. The sultan ordered the heavy duty rig to tow his power boat around the country. But his first drive will be a charity run when it arrives in Malaysia at the end of this month.

Johor Bahru Travel Guide The state of Johor and its capital Johor Bahru are located at the southern tip of Malaysia. Most Malaysians refer to the city only as JB. It is the gateway to Singapore connected by the 1038m long bridge. A famous attraction is the former palace of the Johor royal family. It is a today a very interesting museum. There are some nice hotels and some not so nice. There are a number of 5 star International hotels in JB. Nightlife is exciting and mostly pub based. Much of local life revolves around food. Food is pretty much available 24 hours a day. There is a "supper" culture in JB where people go out for coffee, tea, "roti canai" (indian flat bread) and other "mamak food" late at night. Going out for "tea" or "supper" is mostly a social thing where people hang out and chat with close friends. Good shopping facilities and value for money for Singapore visitors. The large shopping malls around the city are Holiday Plaza, City Square and Plaza Pelangi, and the latest Terbrau City. Locals speak mostly Mandarin and Malay with some fluent English speaking locals.
