Ahmedabad: Separate visual biographies of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel will be brought out by Navajivan Trust, Bapu's own publication house in Ahmedabad. This will be the first time that important incidents in the lives of Bapu and Sardar will be depicted in illustrations to reach out to children and teenagers.
On Tuesday while releasing 10 print versions of Bapu's Hind Swaraj at the trust office, managing trustee Vivek Desai told TOI that a team of 20 artists had worked on the illustrations depicting Gandhiji's childhood, adulthood and life in his old age.

The short script that will appear in dialogue boxes will be edited by Jayant Meghani , while the book is being designed by Apurva Ashar. The illustrated book on Bapu will consist of 150 pages and will be brought out in 17 languages.
"We are very careful when it comes to illustrations. Since the book is based on Bapu's autobiography, we plan to carry excerpts from 'The Story Of My Experiments With Truth' alongside the illustrations so that the text in the dialogue boxes is not misunderstood," said Desai.
Desai claimed that special tablets carrying almost all Navajivan's publications will be available shortly.
"The tablets will contain all our publications in e-books," said Desai. This is not all, but Navajivan trust is also planning to introduce print-on-demand book facility, where a person can 'click' a book on Navajivan's website, order as many copies needed and get the books by post after paying via net-banking or credit or debit card.
