MINI ICE AGE AND THE YEAR WITHOUT A SUMMER, The year 1816 is known as the Year Without a Summer (also the Poverty Year, the Summer that Never Was, Year There Was No Summer, and Eighteen Hundred and Froze to Death, because of severe climate abnormalities that caused average global temperatures to decrease by 0.4–0.7 °C (0.7–1.3 °F). This resulted in major food shortages across the Northern Hemisphere.
Evidence suggests that the anomaly was predominantly a volcanic winter event caused by the massive 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in the Dutch East Indies, the largest eruption in at least 1,300 years after the extreme weather events of 535–536. The Earth had already been in a centuries-long period of global cooling that started in the 14th century. Known today as the Little Ice Age, it had already caused considerable agricultural distress in Europe. The Little Ice Age's existing cooling was aggravated by the eruption of Tambora, which occurred during its concluding decades.

Children playing paintball, it is a fun and adrenalin-filled activity that can be enjoyed by any person of any age, fitness level and ability. It is a great outdoor activity that combines leadership, strategy and teamwork in a fun and unique environment.
Paintball Minimum Age
In the Eastern States of Australia however, there is a restriction imposed on the participation in Paintball games that is unjustified, unnecessary and unfairly implemented. The State Police Forces have imposed a minimum age to participate in Paintball games at 16 years of age. We are requesting that this unsubstantiated and unnecessary restriction be simply removed and children as young as 10 years of age be permitted to participate in Paintball games in Australia.
There is no basis to the inclusion of this restriction. Paintball is enjoyed globally by children as young as 10 years of age. The United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, and New Zealand are among the many countries that set self-imposed minimum ages of 10 years, in conjunction with insurance companies. Even Western Australia and South Australia allow people as young as 10 years of age to participate!
We have many supporting articles as evidence showing over 1.6 million children aged 10-16 in the United Kingdom alone, have played Paintball in the last 5 years and have sustained no ill effects.

The United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, and New Zealand are among the many countries that set self-imposed minimum ages of 10 years, in conjunction with insurance companies. Even Western Australia and South Australia allow people as young as 10 years of age to participate!
We have many supporting articles as evidence showing over 1.6 million children aged 10-16 in the United Kingdom alone, have played Paintball in the last 5 years and have sustained no ill effects.

In recent years, the scientific investigation into moral development has increasingly focused on children's early years. A range of studies in psychology have claimed, 'Children demonstrate surprisingly sophisticated and differentiated moral reasoning,' or that '19- and 21-month-old infants have a general expectation of fairness, and they can apply it appropriately to different situations'. Beyond science, there is a growing cultural assumption that children have a capacity for moral agency ever earlier, reflected in everything from 'pupil voice' initiatives in schools to the 'philosophy 4 kids' movement,.
If we conclude that moral understanding can be found in infancy, what are the implications for holding hold young children accountable for their actions? With shocking headlines about racism and homophobia in primary schools, is there a danger of interpreting childish acts and attitudes according to adult moral standards? This discussion obviously begs the question about the age of criminal responsibility. Already in England and Wales, children aged 10 can face criminal prosecution and acquire criminal records, the lowest age in in the EU. It's 12 in Scotland, 15 in Sweden, 18 in Brazil. But if we identify moral reasoning even earlier, should under-tens too be treated as responsible? And how should we then reconcile other such age-related restrictions whereby children cannot buy a pet until they are 12, do a paper round until they are 13, consent to sex until they are 16 or drive until they are 17? Ironically, those opposed to the criminal law's attribution of full culpability at such a young age, have also turned to scientific studies of children's cognitive and emotional development to back their cause. The news that 2,000 primary-school-age children were arrested in England and Wales last year led to a panel of scientists, ethicists and lawyers suggesting some children's brains may not be sufficiently developed by that time to be seen as moral agents.
So when do children really develop a sophisticated 'adult' moral understanding? What does our attitude towards children's criminal responsibility say about our attitude overall towards children? Does a focus on scientific evidence ignore the complexity and changeability of human beings? Or is this new research on innately moral toddlers the new frontier in finding the roots of moral understanding?

It is a certainty that the earth is going into a mini ice age that will not reach it's coldest point until at least 2035. The question is not if we are heading into a mini ice age but how severe will the mini ice age be? More scientists, especially the Russian scientists, are expecting the upcoming mini ice age to equal or exceed the cold temperatures and snow of the Maunder minimum that occurred over 400 years ago, rather than the less severe mini ice age of the Dalton minimum that occurred in the 1800's. In 2019 we will know what lies in the future for climate change with the beginning of solar cycle 25. If there are no sun spots in 2019 than we will be heading into a period that is at least as severe at the Maunder minimum. It may be possible that the governments are in the know and are not warning the populations as to not cause panic or widespread changes in demographics that would upset the existing economic systems. It should also be noted that during a mini ice age there is a lessening of strength of the earth's magnetosphere and this leaves us vulnerable to the affects of solar flares. In 1859, such a solar flare (solar storm) did occur, and it wiped out even the simple and robust telegraph networks for a period of time that were in place in the 19th century. With the greatly weakened magnetosphere, as exists today, if such a solar fare (solar storm) were to occur in out modern age of electronics, it would bring modern day civilization to a screeching halt. Unfortunately, governments and commercial enterprises have been doing nothing to harden system in the case of such an event. A solar flare with a strong magnetosphere may not cause that much damage, but we currently have a very weak magnetosphere and it is getting weaker. Such are the cycles that the earth has been going through for millions of years. Possibly governments and the ultra-wealthy are taking precautions, but the general population will be left out in the cold, quite literally, if such an event were to occur.
The greatest problem will not be the cold, but rather the lack of food due to a greatly curtailed growing season.
