It is time for all media organizations to publicly pledge to never again release the name or photo of those who commit mass violence. “Unnamed shooter” is all they deserve. The media must take responsibility for their role in this tragedy.
There is ample reason to believe that many of these unstable people commit such acts just to get their 15 minutes of fame, and that with the help of the media, they can become another household name. The media’s compulsion to publish the whole story creates the incentive for crazies to do these horrendous acts.
