Flannels are a great essential to have in your wardrobe and lately I have been wearing them all of the time. They're a great staple piece and sometimes it may be a bit tricky on how to style them. Flannels are a very versatile clothing piece that you can do a lot with. It is also great because many of the flannels come with many different combination of plaid and colors. Here's a slower video to ease my way back into the swing of things.. really want to do a fall/winter favorites video, but there are a couple of items I want to pick up before that happens.
I purchased this flannel last week and saw opportunity to show a couple ways I would wear it in a lookbook. I love the silhouette of the heel, and how you can play up leg length and a simple footwear silhouette to balance out an otherwise chunky, boxy oversized flannel. Comfy, cute, and amazing for the current season.

Flannel is a soft woven fabric, of various fineness. Flannel was originally made from carded wool or worsted yarn, but is now often made from either wool, cotton, or synthetic fibre. Flannel may be brushed to create extra softness or remain unbrushed. The brushing process is a mechanical process where a fine metal brush rubs the fabric to create fine fibers from the loosely spun yarns. Typically, flannel has either a single- or double-sided nap. Double-napped flannel refers to a fabric that has been brushed on both sides. If the flannel is not napped, it gains its softness through the loosely spun yarn in its woven form. Flannel is commonly used to make tartan clothing, blankets, bed sheets, and sleepwear.
The origin of the word is uncertain, but a Welsh origin has been suggested as fabric similar to flannel can be traced back to Wales, where it was well known as early as the 16th century. The French term flanelle was used in the late 17th century, and the German Flanell was used in the early 18th century.

I purchased this flannel last week and saw opportunity to show a couple ways I would wear it in a lookbook. I love the silhouette of the heel, and how you can play up leg length and a simple footwear silhouette to balance out an otherwise chunky, boxy oversized flannel. Comfy, cute, and amazing for the current season.

Super quick and SUPER easy DIY hooded flannel! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
I recommend looking for flannels at the Goodwill in the mens section, thats where I have found some of my favorite flannels. I also believe that forever 21 sells some decent flannels for cheap but nothing beats a $5 flannel from Goodwill lol jus take sure you wash it.
