In a desert in Namibia, eggs 50 times heavier than those of most egg-laying animals are hatching. The shell is so strong the ostrich mother often helps the chicks out. The biggest advance in parenting here is that both parents look after the eggs. It's a marriage of necessity, one that goes back to food and hungry mothers. Birds need to eat more than cold-blooded reptiles and if the father weren't here, the female would either starve or leave. So the male does the night shift to keep the brood safe from hungry jackals.
To be even safer, ostriches spread the risks. Some of them lay eggs in the dominant pair's nest, almost like cuckoos. The top couple don't object, maybe it helps to have a few spare eggs in case a predator comes, or maybe there are just too many to count. Ostriches are good, intuitive parents, and have no obvious favourites in their mixed brood. The foster-chicks aren't fussy either and will imprint on any adult. The parent birds lift the chicks up with their beaks to encourage them to get up and about, though the rough treatment doesn't look particularly helpful and the chicks totter about like children on stilts.
Whilst the ostriches are devoted to the whole brood, they don't seem to care about specific chicks, even their own. Within hours of the majority of chicks hatching, the family needs to find water and move off in search. It's a death sentence on any chicks still hatching.

About 1 month ago, fellow YouTuber BLUMGUM thought that it would be wise to call out the L.A. BEAST and his raw egg drinking abilities and he then proceeded to chug down 54 raw eggs, besting the L.A. BEAST'S personal record of 50. In an effort to redeem himself, the L.A. BEAST hung himself upside down, chugged 60 raw eggs like a boss, flipped upright again, puked those eggs into a frying pan, made an omelet and then ate it to reclaim his egg champion status. BLUMGUM did not take to kindly to the L.A. BEAST'S actions and decided to drink wasabi and eggs mixed together while hanging upside down, puke those up into a frying pan and make himself a GREEN EGGS AND HAM breakfast. BAD MOVE BLUMGUM. As stated on many previous occasions, the L.A. BEAST is not married, has no kids, no real 9-5 job, and has 24 hours, 7 days a week to think of ways to not be 1 UPed.

We came down to South Africa for the Cape Argus Tour. It is the biggest cycling event in the world, probably.
On Friday, to stretch out the legs we went on pre-race ride [~130km why not?] to the Cape of Good Hope [I love this name!]. The road by the ocean side was quiet and a lille deserted.
Suddenly, I spotted a white ostrich on my left, then this beast jumped on the road from the right and started chasing my friends! It was a little scary at first, but then I thought I gonna fell of my bike from laughter. The ostrich didn't have any problem to keep up at 50km/h and apparently they do 70km/h with no sweat.
Luckily the creature decided to leave us alone, as we were running out of road. The Cape of Good hope is a dead end way.
My guess he wanted to show off in front of his girlfriend, i bet she was very impressed!

Ostrich
The ostrich or common ostrich (Struthio camelus) is either one or two species of large flightless birds native to Africa, the only living member(s) of the genus Struthio, which is in the ratite family. Starting in 2014, the Somali ostrich is now considered a full species separate from the common ostrich.
The ostrich shares the order Struthioniformes with the kiwis, emus, rheas and cassowaries. However, phylogenetic studies have shown that it is the basal extant member of Palaeognathae and is thus equally closely related to flighted tinamous. It is distinctive in its appearance, with a long neck and legs, and can run at up to about 70 km/h (19 m/s; 43 mph), the fastest land speed of any bird. The ostrich is the largest living species of bird and lays the largest eggs of any living bird (extinct elephant birds of Madagascar and the giant moa of New Zealand laid larger eggs).
The ostrich's diet consists mainly of plant matter, though it also eats invertebrates. It lives in nomadic groups of 5 to 50 birds. When threatened, the ostrich will either hide itself by lying flat against the ground, or run away. If cornered, it can attack with a kick of its powerful legs. Mating patterns differ by geographical region, but territorial males fight for a harem of two to seven females.

She treats it as her own, but the ostrich keeps getting into trouble, first getting stuck after eating a goldfish, then falling down steps into a basement and swallowing a car jack, then having a little run-in with a worm and a lawn sprinkler, and finally getting captured by the weasel. The weasel sings a version of the title song, with lyrics about how great the ostrich will be when it's cooked. Meanwhile, the ostrich swallows first the hanging light bulb; when forced to disgorge that, he swallows a box of fireworks, which goes off when the ostrich is in the oven. The weasel, having had enough, sets the ostrich free. The ostrich puts on a fireworks show, ending with "eat at Sloppy Joe's."

In a desert in Namibia, eggs 50 times heavier than those of most egg-laying animals are hatching. The shell is so strong the ostrich mother often helps the chicks out. The biggest advance in parenting here is that both parents look after the eggs. It's a marriage of necessity, one that goes back to food and hungry mothers. Birds need to eat more than cold-blooded reptiles and if the father weren't here, the female would either starve or leave. So the male does the night shift to keep the brood safe from hungry jackals. To be even safer, ostriches spread the risks. Some of them lay eggs in the dominant pair's nest, almost like cuckoos. It is the biggest cycling event in the world, probably. On Friday, to stretch out the legs we went on pre-race ride [~130km why not?] to the Cape of Good Hope [I love this name!]. The road by the ocean side was quiet and a lille deserted. Suddenly, I spotted a white ostrich on my left, then this beast jumped on the road from the right and started chasing my friends! It was a little scary at first, but then I thought I gonna fell of my bike from laughter. The ostrich didn't have any problem to keep up at 50km/h and apparently they do 70km/h with no sweat. We came down to South Africa for the Cape Argus Tour. It is the biggest cycling event in the world, probably.
On Friday, to stretch out the legs we went on pre-race ride [~130km why not?] to the Cape of Good Hope [I love this name!]. The road by the ocean side was quiet and a lille deserted.
Suddenly, I spotted a white ostrich on my left, then this beast jumped on the road from the right and started chasing my friends! It was a little scary at first, but then I thought I gonna fell of my bike from laughter. The ostrich didn't have any problem to keep up at 50km/h and apparently they do 70km/h with no sweat.
Luckily the creature decided to leave us alone, as we were running out of road. The Cape of Good hope is a dead end way.
My guess he wanted to show off in front of his girlfriend, i bet she was very impressed!
