Dash

A dash is a punctuation mark that is similar to a hyphen or minus sign, but differs from both of these symbols primarily in length and function. The most common versions of the dash are the en dash (–) and the em dash (—), named for the length of a typeface's lower-case n and upper-case M respectively.

Usage varies both within English and in other languages, but the usual convention in printed English text is:

Dash Express

The Dash Express is an Internet-enabled personal navigation device manufactured by Dash Navigation Dash Express transmits information using a GPRS connection back to Dash Navigation in order to enhance traffic routing. At this time, the Dash Express can only be used in the US.

In June 2009, Research in Motion has acquired Dash Navigation

RIM is discontinuing service and support of the Dash Express product effective June 30, 2010.

Hardware

The hardware of the dash express was developed by Taiwanese hardware manufacturer FIC (First International Computers), in its Openmoko division. It was developed under the code name "Dash Cavalier" with the model number HXD8v2.

Dash (boutique)

Dash (stylized as DASH) is a boutique clothing and accessory chain founded in 2006 by the Kardashian sisters (Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé). As of 2015, the chain has three locations in the United States.

The stores have appeared in the various Kardashian reality television series broadcast on E! The third store opened November 3, 2010, in the SoHo district of Manhattan, New York City.

In March 2012, it was announced that the original Dash store will be relocated from Calabasas, California to a more accessible location in West Hollywood.

In the summer of 2014 the sisters opened a pop-up retail store in Southampton, New York which is featured in Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons.

The show Dash Dolls will "follow the lives of the Kardashian sisters' young, fun and hot D-A-S-H boutiques employees as they navigate the hectic life of a twenty-something in Hollywood while representing the Kardashian brand."

Era (river)

The Era is a river in Tuscany in Italy. It rises near Volterra and flows into the Arno river at Pontedera.

The Era is 54 km long, and its main tributaries are: (to the left) Cascina river, Ragone torrent, Sterza torrent, and (to the right) Capriggine torrent and Roglio torrent.

In 1966 the river flooded the town of Pontedera.

Era (geology)

A geologic era is a subdivision of geologic time that divides an eon into smaller units of time. The Phanerozoic Eon is divided into three such time frames: the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic represent the major stages in the macroscopic fossil record. These eras are separated by catastrophic extinction boundaries, the P-T boundary between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic and the K-T boundary between the Mesozoic and the Cenozoic. There is evidence that catastrophic meteorite impacts played a role in demarcating the differences between the eras.

The Hadean, Archean and Proterozoic eons were as a whole formerly called the Precambrian. This covered the four billion years of Earth history prior to the appearance of hard-shelled animals. More recently, however, those eons have been subdivided into eras of their own.

Employment Relations Act 1999

The Employment Relations Act 1999 (c 26) is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom. It made significant amendments in UK labour law to the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.

Provisions

Trade unions

Sections 1 to 6 concern changes implementing a new statutory procedure for employers to recognise and collectively bargain with a trade union, in any business with over 20 employees. Section 1 and Schedule 1 achieves this by amending TULRCA 1992 and inserting a new section 70A and Schedule A1, which sets out the statutory recognition procedure.

Section 2 and Schedule 2 amended TULRCA 1992 to require that union members are not subject to any detriment short of dismissal for attempts to organise.

Section 3 allows the Secretary of State to make regulations prohibiting any blacklisting of union members.

Sections 4 and Schedule 3 amends the provisions in TULRCA 1992 relating to ballots before industrial action. Section 5 implements TULRCA 1992 sections 70B and 70C, which enhances the rights employees have to workplace training. Section 6 ensures that union members have a right to claim for unfair dismissal connected with the statutory recognition procedure.
