Cannibal Ox

Cannibal Ox is an American underground hip hop duo from Harlem, New York, United States. It consists of Vast Aire and Vordul Mega, often accompanied by DJ Cip-One.

History

In 2001, Cannibal Ox released the first album The Cold Vein on Definitive Jux. It received positive reviews from critics and put the duo in the underground hip hop spotlight, and has since been described as one of the best rap albums of the decade 2000-2010.

In 2003, the group was rumored to have disbanded. However, fellow Definitive Jux rapper Murs said "Can Ox is not broken up, it's just a rumor" between tracks on fellow Definitive Jux rapper Aesop Rock's album Bazooka Tooth.

November 2005 brought the release of the live album Return of the Ox: Live at CMJ with a statement in the liner notes hinting at a Cannibal Ox LP to be released summer of 2006. Supposedly, RZA, Pete Rock and El-P were set to contribute. However, the alleged album was never released.

In March 2007, El-P answered "I really doubt it" when asked if a new Cannibal Ox album was coming out anytime in the near future. That same year, Vast Aire confirmed that he was no longer working with Definitive Jux, that he left The Weathermen, and that plans for a new Cannibal Ox LP were scrapped. He cited creative and financial differences with El-P and Definitive Jux as well as Vordul's alleged clinical depression.

Cannibalism

Cannibalism is the act or practice of humans eating the flesh or internal organs of other human beings. A person who practices cannibalism is called a cannibal. The expression cannibalism has been extended into zoology to mean one individual of a species consuming all or part of another individual of the same species as food, including sexual cannibalism.

The Island Carib people of the Lesser Antilles, from whom the word cannibalism derives, acquired a long-standing reputation as cannibals following the recording of their legends in the 17th century. Some controversy exists over the accuracy of these legends and the prevalence of actual cannibalism in the culture. Cannibalism was widespread in the past among humans in many parts of the world, continuing into the 19th century in some isolated South Pacific cultures, and to the present day in parts of tropical Africa. Cannibalism was practiced in New Guinea and in parts of the Solomon Islands, and flesh markets existed in some parts of Melanesia.Fiji was once known as the "Cannibal Isles". Cannibalism has been well documented around the world, from Fiji to the Amazon Basin to the Congo to Māori New Zealand.Neanderthals are believed to have practiced cannibalism, and Neanderthals may have been eaten by anatomically modern humans.

Blade of the Ronin

Blade of the Ronin is the second studio album by American hip hop duo Cannibal Ox. It was released via IGC Records and iHipHop Distribution on March 3, 2015. It is a follow-up to the duo's 2001 album, The Cold Vein.

Reception

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, Blade of the Ronin received an average score of 71% based on 16 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".

Iron Galaxy Studios is a video game developer studio founded on August 15, 2008 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The studio has another office in Orlando, Florida. In the past, Iron Galaxy has contracted with larger developers to work on parts of their projects, performing "technical consulting". They are most famous for developing GGPO-enabled legacy fighting game ports for Capcom. Iron Galaxy debuted with their first original property with Wreckateer in 2012; their second, Divekick, was released in 2013.

The terms special edition, limited edition, and variants such as deluxe edition, collector's edition or expanded edition, are used as a marketing incentive for various kinds of products, originally published products related to the arts, such as books, prints, video games or recorded music and films, but now including cars, fine wine, and whisky, among other products. A limited edition is restricted in the number of copies produced, although in fact the number may be very low or very high. A special edition implies there is extra material of some kind included. It may also refer to books in special limited and numbered editions, sometimes hand-bound, and signed by the artist and containing one or more original works or prints produced directly from their work and printed under their supervision.
