Son of the Bride

Son of the Bride (Spanish: El hijo de la novia) is a 2001 Argentine comedy drama film directed by Juan José Campanella and written by Campanella and Fernando Castets. The executive producers were Juan Vera and Juan Pablo Galli, and it was produced by Adrián Suar. It stars Ricardo Darín, Héctor Alterio, Norma Aleandro, Eduardo Blanco and Natalia Verbeke.

The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and won the Silver Condor for Best Film.

Plot

The film tells of Rafael Belvedere (Ricardo Darín), a 42-year-old divorced restaurateur, with a young daughter named Vicky (Gimena Nóbile) of whom he has joint custody. Rafael lives a very hectic lifestyle.

His mother Norma (Norma Aleandro) suffers from Alzheimer's disease and he has not seen her in a year. Rafael sees his father Nino (Héctor Alterio) frequently but his friends rarely. He's fielding offers to sell the restaurant he runs in Buenos Aires, but changes his mind because it was started by his mother and father and has been in the family for years.

Seed of Chucky

Seed of Chucky is a 2004 comedy-horror film and the fifth installment of the Chucky series. The film was written and directed by Don Mancini, who created Child's Play film and has written all of the films in the series. With this entry, Mancini marked his directorial debut.

Plot

Six years after the events of the third and fourth films, Glen, the kind and gentle son of Chucky and Tiffany, has a nightmare in which he brutally murders a little girl's parents. In reality, he is living a life of embarrassment and abuse as a ventriloquist's dummy from his own point of view. Desperate to know his parents, Glen tracks Chucky and Tiffany down to Hollywood, where they are first shown killing a man who is dressed as Santa Claus for a movie. Upon tracking down his mom and dad, who are now dummies in one of Jennifer Tilly's films, Glen uses a voodoo amulet to bring them back to life. When Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif) finds out that Glen is his child, he faints. However, Tiffany (voice of Jennifer Tilly) is delighted and hugs her child. Tiffany and Chucky argue over whether Glen is male or female, due to his lack of genitals (though he is clearly a male). Chucky decides to continue labeling him as a boy, while Tiffany labels him as a girl, calling him "Glenda".

Don Mancini

Don Mancini (born January 25, 1963) is an American screenwriter, producer, and film director. Mancini is best known for creating the character of Chucky, and writing all of the films in the Chucky series. Mancini was also the executive producer of Bride of Chucky, and he directed, Seed of Chucky, as well as the recent installment in Chucky franchise, Curse of Chucky. Along with Michael McDowell and Clive Barker, Mancini is one of the few openly gay writers in the slasher film genre. In 2007, he won the EyeGore award for career contributions to the horror genre. He sometimes goes by the pseudonym Kit Du Bois (also spelled Kit Dubois). Mancini attended St. Christopher's School in Richmond, VA and Columbia University in New York City.

Brad Dourif

Bradford Claude "Brad" Dourif (/ˈdɔːrᵻf/; born March 18, 1950) is an American actor and voice actor who gained early fame for his portrayal of Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which won him a Golden Globe Award and BAFTA Award, as well as a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

He portrayed Charles Lee Ray / Chucky (both live-action and voiceover) in the Chucky franchise, Deputy Clinton Pell in Mississippi Burning, Younger Brother in Ragtime, Piter De Vries in David Lynch's Dune, Gríma Wormtongue in The Lord of the Rings, and Doc Cochran in Deadwood, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination.
