Located in Soho, Circa Tabac prides itself on being one of the very few places in New York where you can find cigars, food and drink indoors. Their "1920s art deco speakeasy" feel, as owner Lee Ringelheim described it, probably makes this unlike any place you've ever lit up. Aside from well-known brands like Padrón, La Gloria Cubana and Macanudo, Circa Tabac has an array of its own private-label cigars in the works, which will include a variety of traditional blends as well as some flavored offerings. Their classic cocktails include a Circa Tabac Cocktail (which is made with Glenmorangie, Tullamore Dew, orzata, lemon juice and an orange twist), Manhattans, old fashioneds, champagne cocktails and a full menu of bourbons, ryes, champagne and wines. Another unique thing about Circa Tabac t...

While the name might give the impression that it's member's only, this time-warp of a smoking lounge is open to the public. They welcome all comers, so long as you show up dressed appropriately, collared shirts and slacks for men. There's a small humidor with a limited selection of smokes to choose from but what really sets the club apart are the vibe (a throwback to the days of Sinatra, whose music is performed here sometimes) and the Scotch selection. "We try to cover every region, sometimes a few from each. We also have other whiskeys, bourbons, rye. But Scotch is our main thing," said manager Scott Asbury, adding that there's also aged rum and tequila. Not subscribed to Cigar Snob? This relative newcomer to the cigar scene is fast becoming a destination for East Nashville smokers. The décor is part hunting lodge, part old-world library (first editions abound), and part classic country church, which gives the place a truly unique feel. On one wall, you'll find mounted hunting trophies alongside abundant religious imagery, making for one-of-a-kind conversation starters. The crowd is on the younger side, giving the Abbey a cool, vibrant energy you don't find often. The humidor is small, but features some rarely-seen boutique labels that you'll want to try while you have the chance. If you're just swinging by to grab some smokes and run, they offer bundles and multi-cigar deals that are tough to resist. The Abbey frequently hosts events featuring live local bands, cockta...
This craft distillery has won awards for its well-rounded and sometimes adventurous spirit offerings. Its Nashville location is nestled inside what was once the popular Yazoo brewery (and, before that, the Marathon Motor Works corporation). Here, we found an original 1921 pre-prohibition pot still that is downright cool, and would be appreciated by their next door neighbors, the boys from reality show "American Pickers." Their range of spirits include rums, gins, experimental rye and grain concoctions, and of course classic whiskies. The taproom has a distinct brewery aroma, which is understandable considering they offer a full slate of in-house and local area craft brews. Not subscribed to Cigar Snob? From the start, the people behind this Nashville tobacco landmark had the sole purpose of bringing a premium smoking experience to the masses. Mission accomplished! Its 5,000 square feet makes the expansive shop and lounge the largest in the city, hands down. Its humidor has one of the most impressive selections we've seen in some time. It features an abundance of cigars (40,000+), but is also well-rounded, offering both big name brands as well as hard-to-find options. The lounge area is covered with vintage art an a huge mural depicting a flourishing tobacco field. The interior was thoughtfully split into lots of smaller spaces, so your smoking experience feels intimate despite UPtown's enormity. Don't be surprised if a country music superstar wanders in, as Uptown's claims several celebr...
