A comprehensive world view or worldview is the fundamental cognitive orientation of an individual or society encompassing the entirety of the individual or society's knowledge and point of view. A world view can include natural philosophy; fundamental, existential, and normative postulates; or themes, values, emotions, and ethics. The term is a calque of the German word Weltanschauung [ˈvɛlt.ʔanˌʃaʊ.ʊŋ], composed of Welt ('world') and Anschauung ('view' or 'outlook') The German word is also used in English.
It is a concept fundamental to German philosophy and epistemology and refers to a wide world perception. Additionally, it refers to the framework of ideas and beliefs forming a global description through which an individual, group or culture watches and interprets the world and interacts with it.
The founder of the idea that language and worldview are inextricable is the Prussian philologist, Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767–1835). Humboldt argued that language was part of the creative adventure of mankind. Culture, language and linguistic communities developed simultaneously, he argued, and could not do so without one another. In stark contrast to linguistic determinism, which invites us to consider language as a constraint, a framework or a prison house, Humboldt maintained that speech is inherently and implicitly creative. Human beings take their place in speech and continue to modify language and thought by their creative exchanges. Worldview remains a confused and confusing concept in English, used very differently by linguists and sociologists. It is for this reason that Underhill suggests five subcategories: world-perceiving, world-conceiving, cultural mindset, personal world, and perspective (see Underhill 2009, 2011 & 2012).

From the hate-filled sentiments of radical Islamists to the utilitarians who devalue life in America, how we act is based upon how we see the world—and that is a matter of life and death.

Jerry Nagel, co-founder of the Meadowlark Institute, talks about worldviews and the importance of understanding the origins of our own worldview and appreciating the worldviews of others. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

The impact on patient care has proven confusing and discouraging to many nurses.in the newly revised and expanded Called to Care: A Christian Worldview for Nursing, Judith Allen Shelly and Arlene B. Theodore Dalrymple is well-known on both sides of the Atlantic for his incisive writings chronicling the devastating effects of progressive ideas on those they are intended to help. In Life at the Bottom: The Worldview That Makes the Underclass, Dalrymple showed how the root causes of poverty are to be found in ideas, promoted by our elites and adopted by the most vulnerable classes, excusing violence, drug use, and wanton behavior. In his first-ever lecture in Washington, D.C., Dalrymple will examine the flip side of the coin and discuss the prejudices of these elites. He will explain how their moral cowardice and the self-flattering nature of their beliefs account for their callous indifference to the ravages they have wrought. Dalrymple will shed some much-needed light on the appeal of ...

You're only living once
What don't you understand?
Can't change the world in a day
Mortal fears fan the flames
Unconscious energy
Is all you may ever be
Can't change the world in a day
So they choose to throw it all away
My only crime in your eyes
Trade deception, exchange for pride
Praise bigotry on all who sleep, but never I
They want you fucking dead
What don't you understand?
Can't change the world in a day
All belief is just a game
I want you fucking dead
What don't I understand?
Can't change the world in a day
But I'll try to do it anyway
My only crime in your eyes
Trade deception, exchange for pride
Praise treachery on the weak, but never I
I'm a legion, on my own
No one needs me, no one knows
Can't change the world in a day
