In 1977, top government officials proposed a one thousand-mile trail that would go from the Tennessee border to the Outer Banks. Nearly forty years later, those who first came up with the plan are watching it unfold. Dr. Tom Linden from the UNC School of Media and Journalism takes us to the Haw River to see how far the original vision of a statewide trail has come.
The Pit in Raleigh is already an established institution, but their Durham location is quickly creating its own stellar reputation. Their whole-hog, pit-cooked barbecue and lively Downtown Durham location have attracted the attention of The Washington Post and The New Yorker!
