State Magazine is a digital magazine published by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Human Resources. Its mission is to acquaint Department of State employees at home and abroad with developments affecting operations and personnel, and to facilitate communication between management and employees.
The interactive magazine is published 11 times per year, with a combined July and August issue, and features news of interest to employees, retirees and the general public.
The Foreign Service News Letter was dated March 20, 1947, and was published monthly by the office of the Director General of the United States Foreign Service to "acquaint members of the Foreign Service with plans and developments of interest to or which may affect operations or personnel in the field." The Foreign Service News Letter's final issue, Number 170, was dated April 15, 1961.
A Department Notice dated April 21, 1961, announced that "the Foreign Service News Letter, formerly published by the Director General of the Foreign Service, will be retitled the Department of State News Letter and published by the Bureau of Administration, effective with the issue of May 15, 1961." In its new form, the News Letter was intended to "acquaint the Department's officers and employees, at home and abroad, with developments of interest which may affect operations or personnel."

North Carolina (i/ˌnɔːrθ kærəˈlaɪnə/) is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west, Virginia to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. North Carolina is the 28th most extensive and the 9th most populous of the 50 United States. North Carolina is known as the Tar Heel State and the Old North State.
North Carolina is composed of 100 counties. Its two largest metropolitan areas are among the top ten fastest-growing in the country: its capital, Raleigh, and its largest city, Charlotte. In the past five decades, North Carolina's economy has undergone a transition from reliance upon tobacco, textiles, and furniture-making to a more diversified economy with engineering, energy, biotechnology, and finance sectors.
North Carolina has a wide range of elevations, from sea level on the coast to 6,684 feet (2,037 m) at Mount Mitchell, the highest point in North America east of the Mississippi River. The climate of the coastal plains is strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the state falls in the humid subtropical climate zone. More than 300 miles (500 km) from the coast, the western, mountainous part of the state has a subtropical highland climate.

To capture the tradition of a joyride in the mountains, we enlisted photographer Emily Chaplin. Emily spent 10 days in the mountains working solo – no assistant, other than the helpful car owners, who were incredibly generous with their time and prized possessions. For this photo essay, Emily shot 1,936 pictures and photographed 27 different cars. Pick up a copy of our October issue to see the photo essay in full and learn more about these four-wheeled treasures.

Fast forward four to five years. You’re tailgating on campus, gazing up at the beautifully updated façade of Bulldog Stadium. You walk in through a tunnel and reach a cross aisle a short distance from your seats (no more hikes up 60-plus rows of stairs). Look around. There are new scoreboards; a massive west side tower featuring a club lounge, luxury suites and a press box; and a two-story football building at the bottom of the ramp behind the south end zone. Imagine it’s time for the first game in the newly remodeled stadium. Read more here: http://www.fresnostate.edu/magazine/bulldog-stadium-renovation/

She can capture your heart, when they start the music playin'
Sparkle in her eyes, you better be wise or you will end up losin' your mind
I said baby, pretty baby, got to get my hands on you
Somethin's got a hold on
Somethin's got a hold on me
Somethin's got a hold on
Somethin's got a hold on me
She was born with it in her soul
Lord she knows how to rock and roll

Lord she knows how to rock and roll
She's the answer to a poor boy's dream
Never seen such a sweet young thing
She's a teaser, love to squeeze her
An actress from a fantasy scene
I said baby, pretty baby
Open your eyes to the truth
Somethin's got a hold on
Somethin's got a hold on me
Somethin's got a hold on
Somethin's got a hold on me
She's got the power, power in her soul
