The Milkor MGL grenade launcher is manufactured in South Africa, the company Rippel Effect (formerly known as the Milkor Marketing), as well as Milkor USA. MGL stands for Multiple Grenade Launcher. This is a repeating firearm, designed to significantly increase the firepower of a small unit of soldiers compared with conventional grenade launcher at a glance, such as the M203. The MGL is designed to be simple, robust and reliable. Introduced in the military in 1983, MGL was gradually adopted by over 30 countries; he made the evidence of its effectiveness in challenging environments from jungles to deserts. The original MGL was conceived in 1981. Its production started in 1983 for the Defense Force of South Africa, under the designation Y2.
