Etiquette (/ˈɛtᵻkɛt/ or /ˈɛtᵻkɪt/, French: [e.ti.kɛt]) is a code of behavior that delineates expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group.
The French word étiquette, literally signifying a tag or label, was used in a modern sense in English around 1750. Etiquette has changed and evolved over the years.
In the 3rd millennium BC, Ptahhotep wrote The Maxims of Ptahhotep. The Maxims were conformist precepts extolling such civil virtues as truthfulness, self-control and kindness towards one's fellow beings. Learning by listening to everybody and knowing that human knowledge is never perfect are a leitmotif. Avoiding open conflict wherever possible should not be considered weakness. Stress is placed on the pursuit of justice, although it is conceded that it is a god's command that prevails in the end. Some of the maxims refer to one's behaviour when in the presence of the great, how to choose the right master and how to serve him. Others teach the correct way to lead through openness and kindness. Greed is the base of all evil and should be guarded against, while generosity towards family and friends is deemed praiseworthy.

A letter from Rick directs them to Lord Darby in England. Plot: War veteran Rick Dadier is one of three new teachers hired at North Manual High School, an inner city boys school. This is his first teaching assignment, which he needs to support himself and his insecure pregnant wife, Anne. Despite Principle Warnecke's assertions to the contrary, Dadier quickly learns that the rumors of student discipline problems at the school are indeed true. The established teachers at the school try to counsel the newcomers, all inexperienced in such situations, as how best to handle the rowdy students. Regardless, Dadier tries to exert discipline in his class, which provokes a violent response. Dadier believes the student leaders against him are Artie West, but more specifically Gregory Miller, who he thinks uses the fact of being black as a means of racial provocation. Dadier has to decide either to leave and teach at a "real" school, or stay and figure out how to get through to his students. If he decides to stay, he has to figure out who the real disruptive influences are, especially as they have resorted to attacks of a personal nature that affect especially Anne.

Plot: In a racially mixed American town, a 5-year-old black girl falls unnoticed into a hidden, forgotten well on her way to school. Having nothing better to go on, the police follow up a report that the child was seen with a white stranger, and rumors run wild. Before hapless, innocent Claude Packard is even found, popular hysteria has him tried and convicted. But Packard's troubles pale by comparison as ever more inflated rumors uncap the well of racial tensions and mob violence. And young Carolyn Crawford, forgotten by most, is still missing...

Plot: Over the objections of her father (Henry B. Wathall) Doris Maynard (Barbara Kent) elopes with family chauffeur Dan Simmons (Eddie Phillips). Simmons pawns her jewels, forges her father's name on a bank note and leaves Doris a note to go home and let her father support her. A year or two later, Doris meets and falls in love with and marries Donald Thorne (Monte Blue), a crusading district attorney. Her father advises her to let the past remain buried and unrevealed. A campaign for re-election is on and Thorne has the machine organization in despair. Denman (Dewey Robinson), the machine head, is desperate and gets hold of Manners (William V. Mong), a former butler in Thorne's home who had been fired by Doris for petty theft. Manners agrees to plant some manufactured evidence in Thorne's home to discredit him. Manners, with Thorne out of town and the servants off, has no problem entering the Thorne residence. Neither does Simmons who breaks in upstairs with intentions of blackmailing Doris about her past. Downstairs, Manners is placing the framed evidence in a secret drawer of the library table when he discovers a gun that Thorne had given Doris for protection. He hears voices upstairs, investigates and overhears Simmons making his blackmail demands of Doris. She gives him her money and jewels and he departs, followed by Manners, who kills Simmons and throws the gun in the bushes. An investigation, spurred by Denman, reveals the murdered man was Mrs. Donald Thorne's unrevealed ex-husband and the murder weapon the gun Thorne had left for Doris' protection. None of this information bodes well for Thorne's re-election campaign.

Brother and Sister seem to have forgotten some important manners - like saying “please” when they need something, or saying “thank you” when something gets done for them. In fact, a lack of manners seems to be the norm around Bear Country school as well. After a few incidents are relayed to Mama and Papa during dinner, the cubs are reminded about the importance of saying please and thank you, and how much those three little words show appreciation and respect for others, and the things people do for them. Oh my life is changing everyday
Every possible way
Though my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems
I know I felt like this before
But now I’m feeling it even more
Because it came from you
Then I open up and see
The person fumbling here is me
A different way to be
I want more, impossible to ignore
Impossible to ignore
They’ll come true, impossible not to do
Impossible not to do
Now I tell you openly
You have my heart so don’t hurt me
For what I couldn’t find
Talk to me amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You’re everything to me
Oh my life is changing everyday
Every possible way
Though my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems
’cause you’re a dream to me
Dream to me
