Julian Assange is an Australian computer programmer, published and journalist. In 2006, he co-founded Wikileaks and remains its Editor-in-Chief today.
Assange first achieved prominence when he published secret US military and diplomatic documents leaked by Chelsea Manning. Since this point, Wikileaks has continued to publish sensitive and secret documents obtained from various Governments around the world.
Under investigation by Swedish authorities on two counts of sexual molestation and one count of unlawful cocercion, Assange took up residence in the Ecuadorian Embassy in 2012 where he remains to this day. He remains wanted for questioning over one count of "lesser-degree rape" following the expiration of the statue of limitations on other charges against him.

Julian Paul Assange (
/əˈsɒnʒ/ ə-SONZH; born 3 July 1971) is an Australian computer programmer, political/internet activist, publisher, and journalist. He is best known as the editor in chief and founder of WikiLeaks, a media website which publishes information from whistleblowers. The site acts as a conduit for worldwide news leaks, with a stated purpose of creating open governance.
WikiLeaks has published material about extrajudicial killings in Kenya, toxic waste dumping in Côte d'Ivoire, Church of Scientology manuals, Guantanamo Bay procedures, and banks such as Kaupthing and Julius Baer. In 2010, WikiLeaks published Iraq War documents and Afghan War documents about American involvement in the wars, some of which was classified material. On 28 November 2010, WikiLeaks and its five international print media partners (Der Spiegel, The New York Times, Le Monde, The Guardian and El País) began publishing U.S. diplomatic cables.
Assange was a hacker-activist in his youth, before becoming a computer programmer and then becoming internationally renowned for his work with WikiLeaks. He has lived in several countries and has made public appearances in many parts of the world to speak about freedom of the press, censorship, and investigative journalism. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including the 2009 Amnesty International Media Award, Readers' Choice for TIME magazine's 2010 Person of the Year, the 2011 Sydney Peace Foundation gold medal and the 2011 Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism.Snorre Valen, a Norwegian parliamentarian, nominated him for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize.

Julian Assange is an Australian computer programmer, published and journalist. In 2006, he co-founded Wikileaks and remains its Editor-in-Chief today. Assange first achieved prominence when he published secret US military and diplomatic documents leaked by Chelsea Manning. Since this point, Wikileaks has continued to publish sensitive and secret documents obtained from various Governments around the world. Under investigation by Swedish authorities on two counts of sexual molestation and one count of unlawful cocercion, Assange took up residence in the Ecuadorian Embassy in 2012 where he remains to this day. The media and politics whipping the nation into a fear based frenzy calling for peoples execution, and assassinations with no emotional out let for them to defuse their fears and frustrations. All people hear about is how the police, state and government are closing in on them and taking away their rights, and how corrupt the banks are as they illegally strip away their homes and their jobs. Then everyone acts surprised when someone loses it and starts gunning people down in the streets.
Then theres Ted Williams the man with the golden voice and all that has happened to him in the past few days, A story sparked by the press and turned into an avalanche by the people on the internet.
The truth is seldom does the media talk about the possibilities in this country any more and those possibilities still exist and it is high time we as American citizens started to, to give each other some relief.
The Ted Williams story is all the proof that we need to realize that it's time to turn off the media and join together to rebuild our futures from the ground up. It may not be easy but it can do it. Power to the people because the people are the power.

He examines the networks behind Google, and their 'in-house state department' Google ideas, and reveals that they are pushing the position that the State should control what is and is not published, to the extent of a state body overseeing whistleblowers that they have to go through before they can release any material. He says that Google is in bed with the state department, citing as an example that the girlfriend of Eric Schmidt contacted him regarding arranging a meeting with Hilary Clinton. He also points out that the argument the US military use against WikiLeaks, that the publication of cables could theoretically cause harm, was undermined when the general charged with investigating any harm caused by WikiLeaks testified under oath at the trial of Chelsea Manning that they couldn't find a single person that had been harmed. He also talks about the mistakes he believe the Guardian made, and how HBGary tendered $2 million a month to attack WikiLeaks and Glen Greenwald. He talks about some of the more recent publications he has made, such as FinFisher, a cyberweapon which can hijack mobile phones and turn on the microphone, and can infect massive amounts of computers by putting itself in the major gateway of a country or ISP. WikiLeaks ha recibido críticas de múltiples fuentes. En 2007 John Young, operador de Cryptome, abandonó su puesto en el directorio de WikiLeaks y acusó al grupo de ser "un conducto de la CIA". También dudó públicamente de la capacidad de WikiLeaks de proteger el anonimato de los informantes.
