Duncan Lee Hunter (born May 31, 1948) is an American politician. He was a Republican member of the House of Representatives from California's 52nd, 45th and 42nd districts from 1981 to 2009.
Hunter was the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee during the 108th and 109th Congress. Hunter sought the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States for 2008, but his campaign failed to attract significant voters or delegates in early primary and caucus states, and he dropped out after the Nevada Republican caucuses.
He was succeeded as Representative for the 52nd district by his son, Duncan D. Hunter.
Hunter was born in Riverside, California to Lola L. (née Young) and Robert Olin Hunter. He graduated from Rubidoux High School in Riverside in 1966. He attended the University of Montana from 1966 to 1967, and then briefly the University of California, Santa Barbara, before being commissioned into the United States Army in 1969.
He served in South Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 during the Vietnam War in the Army Rangers' 75th Ranger Regiment, attached to the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He participated in 24 helicopter assaults as well as in a small-number of night-time reconnaissance patrols. He held the rank of First Lieutenant, and was awarded the Bronze Star,Air Medal, and service ribbons such as the Vietnam Service Medal. He has said, "I didn't do anything special in the U.S. Army, but I served with very special soldiers I will never forget."

He was given control of the company in 1971 and renamed it The Trump Organization.
In 2010, Trump expressed an interest in becoming a candidate for President of the United States in the 2012 election. In May 2011, he announced he would not be a candidate, but a few weeks later he said he had not completely ruled out the possibility. In December 2011, Trump was suggested as a possible Vice Presidential selection by Michele Bachmann. Bachmann has since suspended her presidential campaign.

Plot: Further adventures of the _"Number 96" (1972)_ (qv) crew, on the big screen. After a devastating experience at the hands of a group of bikies Vera Collins recovers at the home of socialite friend Claire Houghton where she meets distinguished politician Nicholas Brent. She is romanced by him and worries that her shady past may harm his career but abruptly calls off the affair after a shock meeting with his son Tony. Dorrie and Herb begin arrangements for the celebration of their Ruby wedding anniversary with Roma, Arnold, Norma and Dudley all crossing wires and duplicating tasks while attempting to help out and cut costs. However a shocking discovery by Flo threatens to halt the celebrations and brings a new man into Dorrie's life. Dorrie and Herb's wedding celebration, a sumptuous costume affair, is finally held, but Vera is shocked to discover a fearsome gate-crasher at the party.
