Princess Maria Luisa Pia Teresa Anna Ferdinanda Francesca Antonietta Margherita Giuseppina Carolina Bianca Lucia Apollonia of Bourbon-Parma was born in Rome on the 17 January 1870, the eldest daughter of Robert I of Parma, the last reigning Duke of Parma and his first wife, Princess Maria Pia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. The couple produced eleven more children before Maria Pia died in childbirth in 1882. Several of these twelve were born with severe mental retardation. Later, Duke Roberto re-married and had twelve more children.
Fluent in five languages, she liked painting and music. Her talents playing the guitar and the piano were judged to be well above the average. She was also well read and knew a lot of Dante and Leopardi by heart.
In 1892, her father arranged her marriage to the then Prince of Bulgaria, Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The engagement was celebrated at the Castle of Schwartzau, the residence of the Bourbon-Parma family in Austria. Marie-Louise and Ferdinand had never met prior to that day. Princes Clémentine, described her future daughter-in-law as "Unhappily not very pretty, it is the only thing which is lacking, since she is charming, good, very witty, intelligent and very likable". The wedding took place on 20 April 1893 at the Villa Pianore in Lucca, Italy, the residence of Duke Roberto in Italy. Marie Louise was twenty three, nine years younger than Ferdinand. Their first son Boris was born nine months and ten days after their wedding.
Marie Louise was not loved by her husband. Ferdinad was a narcissist and bisexual man who did not find her attractive. However, he made sure that in order to secure his lineage on the Bulgarian throne, she would bear him children.
Under pressure from his subjects and looking to be recognized as Bulgaria's sovereign by the Russian emperor, Ferdinand wanted to have their eldest son, Boris, converted to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the summer of 1895. Marie Louise, pregnant, argued bitterly against her husband's actions. The second child, Prince Kiril, received baptism with Roman Catholic rites. However, unable to avoid Boris's conversion, Marie Louise, who had threatened to leave the country, left Sofia for Beaulieu in the south of France, the same day.
The disillusionment in her private life and bearing four children in five years affected her frail health.
Suffering from pneumonia, Marie Louise died in Sofia, twenty four hours after giving birth to her fourth child Princess Nadezhda of Bulgaria.
Aged just 29, she was buried in the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St Louis of France in Plovdiv.
Princess Consort Laksamilawan (3 July 1899 - 29 August 1961) was the royal consort of King Vajiravudh (or Rama VI) of Siam. Her father was Prince Naradhip Prapanpongse (a son of King Mongkut and a concubine), a well-accepted poet and artist of the day.

Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma (Zita Maria delle Grazie Adelgonda Micaela Raffaela Gabriella Giuseppina Antonia Luisa Agnese; 9 May 1892 -- 14 March 1989) was the wife of Emperor Charles of Austria; the last Empress of Austria, Queen of Hungary
Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma was born at the Villa Pianore in the Italian Province of Lucca, 9 May 1892. She was the third daughter and fifth child of the deposed Robert I, Duke of Parma and his second wife, Maria Antonia of Portugal. Zita was the 17th child among Duke Robert's 24 children.
Having met as children, Zita and Karl would become reacquainted in 1909. They soon became close friends and for Karl it soon blossomed into love. Zita would be a little slower to realize her feelings. Karl would be forced to act in the autumn of 1910 when rumor had it Zita was to marry the Duke of Madrid. They turned out to be false but Karl was more sure than ever that he wanted Zita to be his wife. "'Well, I had better hurry in any case or she will get engaged to someone else."
They were married on 21 October 1911. Their first child, Otto, was born 20 November 1912. Seven more children would follow in the next decade.
On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo, Bosnia sparking the First World War. The war was especially trying on Zita as Karl was taken away to the front to lead the troops, her Italian family was fighting on France's side of the war and the people of Austria mistrusted her as an Italian.
In 1916, Emperor Franz Joseph died, making Karl Emperor of the Austria Empire. They were crowned in Budapest on Decemer 30, 1916. While her husband was away at the front, Zita acted as regent and implemented small social reforms. She was a dedicated nurse and a sponsor of many charities.
The People's Manifesto of 1918 effectively dissolved the Empire and the establishment of the state of German-Austria brought an end to the Hapsburg dynasty. "A sovereign can never abdicate. He can be deposed... All right. That is force. But abdicate — never, never, never! I would rather fall here at your side. Then there would be Otto. And even if all of us here were killed, there would still be other Habsburgs!"
The Imperial family spend their lives abroad in exile moving from one place to another in search of a permanent home. Zita's life would change forever when on Karl died of pneumonia on April 1, 1922 after shopping on a chilly day for toys for his young son. His last words to her would be "I love you so much."She would wear widows black for 63 years she would stay on this earth.
The family continued to move about, from Spain to as far away as Montreal, Canada. Her sons would participate in the Second World War and the Hapsburg's were the champions of Nazi resistance. She also involved herself in the efforts to have her deceased husband, the "Peace Emperor" canonised.
In 1982, she returned to Austria after having been absent for six decades. After a memorable 90th birthday, where she was surrounded by her now vast family, Zita's strong health began to fail. She developed inoperable cataracts in both eyes. Her last big family gathering took place at Zizers, in 1987, when her children and grandchildren joined in celebrating Empress Zita's 95th birthday. While visiting her daughter, in summer 1988, she developed pneumonia and spent most of the autumn and winter bedridden. Finally, she called Otto, in early March 1989, and told him she was dying. He and the rest of the family travelled to her bedside and took turns keeping her company until she died in the early hours of 14 March 1989. She was 96 years old.

She also retained her American roots, maintaining dual US and Monégasque citizenships.
She died on September 14, 1982, when she lost control of her automobile and crashed after suffering a stroke. Her daughter Princess Stéphanie, who was in the car with her, survived the accident.

Princess consort
Princess consort is an official title or an informal designation normally accorded to the wife of a sovereign prince. The title may be used for the wife of a king if the more usual designation of queen consort is not used.
More informally, it may even be used to describe the family position of any woman who marries royalty non-morganatically, if the rank she derives from that marriage is at least that of a princess (e.g., Grace Kelly was Princess Consort during marriage, whereas Liliane Baels and Countess Juliana von Hauke are not usually so described).
The "consort" is often dropped when speaking or writing of a princess consort and the term is only capitalised when the title is borne officially.
Currently, there are two princesses consort in Europe: Marie, Princess of Liechtenstein and Charlene, Princess of Monaco.
United Kingdom
It has been announced that the title is intended to be borne by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as an alternative to the traditional title of queen consort if her husband, Charles, Prince of Wales, becomes King of the United Kingdom, although British law allows her to be titled and styled as her husband's equal.

Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, after marrying Prince Rainier III, became Princess of Monaco.
After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions and more than 40 episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, she gained stardom from her performance in the film Mogambo. It won her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination in 1954. Princess Maria Luisa Pia Teresa Anna Ferdinanda Francesca Antonietta Margherita Giuseppina Carolina Bianca Lucia Apollonia of Bourbon-Parma was born in Rome on the 17 January 1870, the eldest daughter of Robert I of Parma, the last reigning Duke of Parma and his first wife, Princess Maria Pia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. The couple produced eleven more children before Maria Pia died in childbirth in 1882. Several of these twelve were born with severe mental retardation. Later, Duke Roberto re-married and had twelve more children. Fluent in five languages, she liked painting and music. Her talents playing the guitar and the piano were judged to be well above the average. She was also well read and knew a lot of Dante and Leopardi by heart. In 1892, her father arranged her marriage to the then Prince of Bulgaria, Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The engagement was celebrated at the Castle of Schwartzau, the residence of the Bourbon-Parma family in Austria. Marie-Louise and Ferdinand had never met prior to that day. Princes Clémentine, described her future daughter-in-law as "Unhappily not very pretty, it is the only thing which is lacking, since she is charming, good, very witty, intelligent and very likable". The wedding took place on 20 April 1893 at the Villa Pianore in Lucca, Italy, the residence of Duke Roberto in Italy. Marie Louise was twenty three, nine years younger than Ferdinand. Their first son Boris was born nine months and ten days after their wedding. Marie Louise was not loved by her husband. Ferdinad was a narcissist and bisexual man who did not find her attractive. However, he made sure that in order to secure his lineage on the Bulgarian throne, she would bear him children. Under pressure from his subjects and looking to be recognized as Bulgaria's sovereign by the Russian emperor, Ferdinand wanted to have their eldest son, Boris, converted to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the summer of 1895. Marie Louise, pregnant, argued bitterly against her husband's actions. The second child, Prince Kiril, received baptism with Roman Catholic rites. However, unable to avoid Boris's conversion, Marie Louise, who had threatened to leave the country, left Sofia for Beaulieu in the south of France, the same day. The disillusionment in her private life and bearing four children in five years affected her frail health. Suffering from pneumonia, Marie Louise died in Sofia, twenty four hours after giving birth to her fourth child Princess Nadezhda of Bulgaria. Aged just 29, she was buried in the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St Louis of France in Plovdiv. -

Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma (Zita Maria delle Grazie Adelgonda Micaela Raffaela Gabriella Giuseppina Antonia Luisa Agnese; 9 May 1892 -- 14 March 1989) was the wife of Emperor Charles of Austria; the last Empress of Austria, Queen of Hungary Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma was born at the Villa Pianore in the Italian Province of Lucca, 9 May 1892. She was the third daughter and fifth child of the deposed Robert I, Duke of Parma and his second wife, Maria Antonia of Portugal. Zita was the 17th child among Duke Robert's 24 children. Having met as children, Zita and Karl would become reacquainted in 1909. They soon became close friends and for Karl it soon blossomed into love. Zita would be a little slower to realize her feelings. Karl would be forced to act in the autumn of 1910 when rumor had it Zita was to marry the Duke of Madrid. They turned out to be false but Karl was more sure than ever that he wanted Zita to be his wife. "'Well, I had better hurry in any case or she will get engaged to someone else." They were married on 21 October 1911. Their first child, Otto, was born 20 November 1912. Seven more children would follow in the next decade. On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo, Bosnia sparking the First World War. The war was especially trying on Zita as Karl was taken away to the front to lead the troops, her Italian family was fighting on France's side of the war and the people of Austria mistrusted her as an Italian. In 1916, Emperor Franz Joseph died, making Karl Emperor of the Austria Empire. They were crowned in Budapest on Decemer 30, 1916. While her husband was away at the front, Zita acted as regent and implemented small social reforms. She was a dedicated nurse and a sponsor of many charities. The People's Manifesto of 1918 effectively dissolved the Empire and the establishment of the state of German-Austria brought an end to the Hapsburg dynasty. "A sovereign can never abdicate. He can be deposed... All right. That is force. But abdicate — never, never, never! I would rather fall here at your side. Then there would be Otto. And even if all of us here were killed, there would still be other Habsburgs!" The Imperial family spend their lives abroad in exile moving from one place to another in search of a permanent home. Zita's life would change forever when on Karl died of pneumonia on April 1, 1922 after shopping on a chilly day for toys for his young son. His last words to her would be "I love you so much."She would wear widows black for 63 years she would stay on this earth. The family continued to move about, from Spain to as far away as Montreal, Canada. Her sons would participate in the Second World War and the Hapsburg's were the champions of Nazi resistance. She also involved herself in the efforts to have her deceased husband, the "Peace Emperor" canonised. In 1982, she returned to Austria after having been absent for six decades. After a memorable 90th birthday, where she was surrounded by her now vast family, Zita's strong health began to fail. She developed inoperable cataracts in both eyes. Her last big family gathering took place at Zizers, in 1987, when her children and grandchildren joined in celebrating Empress Zita's 95th birthday. While visiting her daughter, in summer 1988, she developed pneumonia and spent most of the autumn and winter bedridden. Finally, she called Otto, in early March 1989, and told him she was dying. He and the rest of the family travelled to her bedside and took turns keeping her company until she died in the early hours of 14 March 1989. She was 96 years old. In October 1953, with the release of Mogambo, she became a movie star, a status confirmed in 1954 with a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nomination as well as leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, in which she gave a deglamorized, Academy Award-winning performance. She retired from acting at 26 to enter upon her duties in Monaco. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. She also retained her American roots, maintaining dual US and Monégasque citizenships. She died on September 14, 1982, when she lost control of her automobile and crashed after suffering a stroke. Her daughter Princess Stéphanie, who was in the car with her, survived the accident. In June 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her No.13 in their list of top female stars of American cinema. -

Princes Clémentine, described her future daughter-in-law as "Unhappily not very pretty, it is the only thing which is lacking, since she is charming, good, very witty, intelligent and very likable". The wedding took place on 20 April 1893 at the Villa Pianore in Lucca, Italy, the residence of Duke Roberto in Italy. Marie Louise was twenty three, nine years younger than Ferdinand. Their first son Boris was born nine months and ten days after their wedding.
Marie Louise was not loved by her husband. Ferdinad was a narcissist and bisexual man who did not find her attractive. However, he made sure that in order to secure his lineage on the Bulgarian throne, she would bear him children.
Under pressure from his subjects and looking to be recognized as Bulgaria's sovereign by the Russian emperor, Ferdinand wanted to have their eldest son, Boris, converted to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the summer of 1895. Marie Louise, pregnant, argued bitterly against her husband's actions. The second child, Prince Kiril, received baptism with Roman Catholic rites. However, unable to avoid Boris's conversion, Marie Louise, who had threatened to leave the country, left Sofia for Beaulieu in the south of France, the same day.
The disillusionment in her private life and bearing four children in five years affected her frail health.
Suffering from pneumonia, Marie Louise died in Sofia, twenty four hours after giving birth to her fourth child Princess Nadezhda of Bulgaria.
Aged just 29, she was buried in the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St Louis of France in Plovdiv.

The war was especially trying on Zita as Karl was taken away to the front to lead the troops, her Italian family was fighting on France's side of the war and the people of Austria mistrusted her as an Italian.
In 1916, Emperor Franz Joseph died, making Karl Emperor of the Austria Empire. They were crowned in Budapest on Decemer 30, 1916. While her husband was away at the front, Zita acted as regent and implemented small social reforms. She was a dedicated nurse and a sponsor of many charities.
The People's Manifesto of 1918 effectively dissolved the Empire and the establishment of the state of German-Austria brought an end to the Hapsburg dynasty. "A sovereign can never abdicate. He can be deposed... All right. That is force. But abdicate — never, never, never! I would rather fall here at your side. Then there would be Otto. And even if all of us here were killed, there would still be other Habsburgs!"
The Imperial family spend their lives abroad in exile moving from one place to another in search of a permanent home. Zita's life would change forever when on Karl died of pneumonia on April 1, 1922 after shopping on a chilly day for toys for his young son. His last words to her would be "I love you so much."She would wear widows black for 63 years she would stay on this earth.
The family continued to move about, from Spain to as far away as Montreal, Canada. Her sons would participate in the Second World War and the Hapsburg's were the champions of Nazi resistance. She also involved herself in the efforts to have her deceased husband, the "Peace Emperor" canonised.
In 1982, she returned to Austria after having been absent for six decades. After a memorable 90th birthday, where she was surrounded by her now vast family, Zita's strong health began to fail. She developed inoperable cataracts in both eyes. Her last big family gathering took place at Zizers, in 1987, when her children and grandchildren joined in celebrating Empress Zita's 95th birthday. While visiting her daughter, in summer 1988, she developed pneumonia and spent most of the autumn and winter bedridden. Finally, she called Otto, in early March 1989, and told him she was dying. He and the rest of the family travelled to her bedside and took turns keeping her company until she died in the early hours of 14 March 1989. She was 96 years old.

Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 -- September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, in April 1956, married Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, to become Princess consort of Monaco, styled as Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, and commonly referred to as Princess Grace. Princess Grace's official style and title was: Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, Duchess of Valentinois, Marchioness of Baux, Countess of Carlades, Baroness of Saint-Lô, 101 times Dame.
After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Grace Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions as well as in more than forty episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, with the release of Mogambo, she became a movie star, a status confirmed in 1954 with a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nomination as well as leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, in which she gave a deglamorized, Academy Award-winning performance. She retired from acting at 26 to enter upon her duties in Monaco. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. She also retained her American roots, maintaining dual US and Monégasque citizenships.
She died on September 14, 1982, when she lost control of her automobile and crashed after suffering a stroke. Her daughter Princess Stéphanie, who was in the car with her, survived the accident.
In June 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her No.13 in their list of top female stars of American cinema.

Princess Grace's official style and title was: Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, Duchess of Valentinois, Marchioness of Baux, Countess of Carlades, Baroness of Saint-Lô, 101 times Dame.
After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Grace Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions as well as in more than forty episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, with the release of Mogambo, she became a movie star, a status confirmed in 1954 with a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nomination as well as leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, in which she gave a deglamorized, Academy Award-winning performance. She retired from acting at 26 to enter upon her duties in Monaco. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. She also retained her American roots, maintaining dual US and Monégasque citizenships.
She died on September 14, 1982, when she lost control of her automobile and crashed after suffering a stroke. Her daughter Princess Stéphanie, who was in the car with her, survived the accident.
In June 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her No.13 in their list of top female stars of American cinema.
