Samuel Duane Cooper (born June 25, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player.
Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Cooper graduated from the University of Southern California.
Cooper was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2nd round (36th overall) of the 1992 NBA Draft. A 6'1" guard, Cooper played two years in the NBA for the Lakers and Phoenix Suns. In his NBA career, Cooper appeared in a total of 88 games and averaged 2.3 ppg. He also played in pre-season games (but not in any regular season games) for Charlotte Hornets (1995) and Toronto Raptors (1996).
Gary Cooper (born Frank James Cooper; May 7, 1901 – May 13, 1961) was an American film actor known for his natural, authentic, and understated acting style and screen performances. His career spanned thirty-five years, from 1925 to 1960, and included leading roles in eighty-four feature films. He was a major movie star from the end of the silent film era through the end of the golden age of Classical Hollywood. His screen persona appealed strongly to both men and women, and his range of performances included roles in most major movie genres. Cooper's ability to project his own personality onto the characters he played contributed to his appearing natural and authentic on screen. The screen persona he sustained throughout his career represented the ideal American hero.
Cooper began his career as a film extra and stunt rider and soon landed acting roles. After establishing himself as a Western hero in his early silent films, Cooper became a movie star in 1929 with his first sound picture, The Virginian. In the early 1930s, he expanded his heroic image to include more cautious characters in adventure films and dramas such as A Farewell to Arms (1932) and The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935). During the height of his career, Cooper portrayed a new type of hero—a champion of the common man—in films such as Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), Meet John Doe (1941), Sergeant York (1941), The Pride of the Yankees (1942), and For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943). In the post-war years, he portrayed more mature characters at odds with the world in films such as The Fountainhead (1949) and High Noon (1952). In his final films, Cooper played non-violent characters searching for redemption in films such as Friendly Persuasion (1956) and Man of the West (1958).
Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, after marrying Prince Rainier III, became Princess of Monaco.
After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions and more than 40 episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, she gained stardom from her performance in the film Mogambo. It won her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination in 1954. She had leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, for which her deglamorized performance earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Other films include High Noon (1952) with Gary Cooper, Dial M for Murder (1954) with Ray Milland, Rear Window (1954) with James Stewart, To Catch a Thief (1955) with Cary Grant, and High Society (1956) with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.
Kelly retired from acting at the age of 26 to marry Rainier and began her duties as Princess of Monaco. They had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. She retained her American roots, maintaining dual U.S. and Monégasque citizenship. She died on September 14, 1982, a day after suffering a stroke while driving, causing her to crash.
'Ne schöne Zukunft liegt vor uns,
Sie lacht jedem hier ins Gesicht,
Verspricht uns allen eine Chance,
Auch wenn es heut noch grau aussieht.
Dankbar, seid dankbar,
Dankbar, seid dankbar,
Ein bisschen dankbar dafür!
Denn nur wer in der Hölle war,
Kann den Himmel wirklich sehen.
So will man uns Geduld einreden
Und deshalb halten alle still.
Und jetzt seid dankbar, endlich dankbar,
Ein bisschen dankbar dafür!
Denn nur wer in der Hölle war,
Kann den Himmel wirklich sehen.
So redet man uns Geduld ein
Und deshalb halten alle still.
Mit den Beinen breit so gut es geht
Und mit Tränen im Gesicht,
In der Hoffnung auf die Zukunft
Und dass der Spieß sich mal umdreht.
Dankbar, wir sind dankbar
