Sora and company will now check out the
Absent Silhouette in the
Cave of the
Dead: Inner
Chamber down in
Olympus Coliseum. When they land there, they first prepare (time 0:49). I recommend good defensive abilities, notably
Once More.
After preparing (and saving), the party examines the Absent Silhouette in the Inner Chamber (time 1:39). In a brief scene, Zexion appears from the grave (time 2:06). He was previously defeated by Riku in
Castle Oblivion in
Chain of Memories.
After the scene, it is time to fight this tricky
Organization member (time 2:39). At the start, he will not do much to attack the party offensively. However, he will attempt to ensnare each party member in books. The longer Sora can stay out of the books, the faster he can pile
on damage.
Eventually, Zexion will ensnare Sora in a book, and that's when things start to get dangerous. Zexion will be in one of the books, and he will use a whole library of books to damage the party. As his normal HP dwindles, he will start using powerful energy attacks, as well. Zexion's books can sometimes seal away Sora's commands, and Sora will have to flip through them to find a command such as
Liberate or Restore. To escape, Sora must damage the book with Zexion until he can use the Dispel command.
As Zexion gets even lower on HP, he will make three lights appear. Two will be red, while the one Zexion's book is above will be blue. Zexion's book will alternate over the three lights until the last one. He'll make a barrier around the circle he's above, and then he'll bring devastating meteors down on the party's heads.
Try to be on the blue light at the end of the countdown, or use a
Limit to avoid taking damage.
Otherwise, Sora could possibly die.
On his last life bar out in the "normal" dimension, Zexion will be quite irritating at ensnaring all the party. The book dimension will be very dangerous here, so try to find his book and use Dispel on it quickly.
I've had Zexion conjure a tornado of books to defend his, as well as merciless barrages of energy.
After the party finally defeats Zexion, Sora reaches
Bonus Level 25 (time 6:33). He gains a welcome item slot.
Donald gains a
Max HP boost.
Goofy learns
Damage Control.
After the battle, the Absent Silhouette dissipates (time 6:48). Sora obtains a
Book of Shadows recipe and a
Lost Illusion. The Absent Silhouette will now be gone from the Inner Chamber.
Up in the
Underworld Entrance, Sora turns in the synthesis materials (time 11:09).
The recipe book from Zexion is for the
Shadow Archive. It appears to require some other items from Organization members.
Afterwards, the party gears up to undertake the
Pain and Panic Cup in the Underdrome (time 11:49).
After preparing, the party chats with
Panic to start the
Pain and panic Cup (time 12:30). The cups in the Underdrome will come with some absurd rules
. In the Pain and Panic Cup, the
Drive Gauge can't be used, meaning that forms and summons will be unavailable. However,
Limits can be used, and they use less MP than they normally do. This makes them quite useful in this cup.
Match 1 pits Sora against some
Hook Bats and
Shadows (time 13:19).
In Match 2, the
Heartless are
Minute Bombs and a
Large Body (time 13:38).
In
Match 3, the party faces
Rabid Dogs and
Soldiers (time 14:13).
The enemies in Match 4 are two
Hot Rods and some Shadows (time 14:37). The Hot Rods are pretty dangerous, but Limits will help out a great deal against them.
Match 5 starts out with some
Rapid Thrusters (time 15:21). Hook Bats and
Bolt Towers will appear later.
In
Match 6, the party faces some
Gargoyle Warriors (time 16:28). Another excellent time for a limit. Minute Bombs will appear afterwards.
Finally, a pack of
Lance Soldiers will appear.
Ugh.
The antagonists of Match 7 are Soldiers and Aeroplanes (time 17:51). A
Rabid Dog will appear next, followed by a squad of Aeroplanes. The last enemies are a pair of
Assault Riders. I hate fighting Assault Riders directly.
Match 8 pits Sora alone against a swarm of Rapid Thrusters (time 19:49). He has a minute to survive.
The Magnet spell is useful if you want to take them all out to get a high score.
In Match 9, the semifinal round, the party faces a couple of Gargoyle
Knights and some
Creeper Plants (time 20:57). Another great occasion for a limit.
Match 10, the final round, pits the party against
Leon and
Yuffie (time 21:28). A couple of well-used
Trinity Limits will cheese this round. Otherwise, Yuffie will be very annoying with her shuriken.
