The Lab (1993) is an electronic music duo from Spain formed by Jose Corredera and Miguel Lazaro.
Jose Corredera and Miguel Lázaro (Madrid, 1980) began his musical project with VMG pseudonym at the age of 13. Under a visual conception of music, using electronic instruments and influences, developed an experimental work during these early years. In 1998 they released the album "Escuchando Images" ("Listening Images"), which was part of the soundtrack of the first electronic art exhibition held in Spain, along with graphic designer Bernardo Rivavelarde.
The Lab was discovered by Michel Huygen, the Spanish electronic musician from Neuronium.
After this first stage, as THE LAB released their first CD entitled "HOMODIGITALIS" with Huygen's label Neuronium Records, which was the soundtrack to the movie of the same name, created again in collaboration with graphic designer Bernardo Rivavelarde, which was released in Biblioteca Nacional de España (Madrid) in 2003. Nacho Duato appears in the movie as a main character. The Album was nominated to Best Electronic Music Album and Best Electronic Track in the Spain Music Awards (Premios de la Música) 2003.
The Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack, like previous games in the Grand Theft Auto series, features various radio stations that play different genres of music when the player enters vehicles in the game. The stations consist of licensed music, DJ chat and spoof advertising. The game features 18 in-game stations with 240 licensed songs, 16 of which are musical stations and the other two are talk stations.
Since the game's location is modelled on southern California, the developers attempted to create an accurate representation of Californian music. Production of the soundtrack also consisted of licensing music for the radio stations, and selecting a DJ that matches the genre of music the station hosts. The soundtrack consists of a wide variety of radio stations that play different genres of music, including reggae, hip hop, pop and country. The game also features an original and dynamic score composed by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, Alchemist and Oh No which plays out in several selective missions. Selected tracks from the score were later released on The Music of Grand Theft Auto V. In September 2014, it was announced that new songs would be added to some of the radio stations in the next-gen releases of the game.
The Lab is a 2013 documentary film by Yotam Feldman about the Israeli military industry. At the 2013 Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival it won the award for best debut film. It was also shown at the German documentary film festival DOK Leipzig, the Antenna Film Festival in Sydney, and the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon, Switzerland. It is an Israeli, Belgian, French coproduction of Gum films, directed by Yotam Feldman. It is 60 minutes long and was shot in Hebrew and has English subtitles. It is controversial because it claims Israel makes profit by testing weapons in the occupied territories that are then sold world wide with the marketing that they were tested in combat.
The Lab is Australian writer Jack Heath's debut novel, first released as a paperback in 2006.
Jack Heath started writing The Lab when he was 13 and attending Lyneham High School. Jack started writing The Lab to impress a girl at school who liked reading. He finished the first draft at the age of 17. He kept his age a secret from the publishers until he knew they were definitely interested. Jack was told to expand the first draft from 40,000 words to 90,000, but when the project was moved to another department he was told to then shorten it to 70,000.
Only a few people Heath knows (one being his brother Tom) have a copy of the 90,000 word edition.
The Lab was published as a young adult fiction action story. It was released on 1 April 2006, and was published by Pan Macmillan Australia.
Two sequels to The Lab, Remote Control and Third Transmission, were released in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
The Lab is an action book, whose protagonist is a 16-year-old superhuman, named Agent "Six of Hearts". Six was created to be the ultimate soldier by a group called The Lab which is a ruthless division of the company ChaoSonic.
The Lab were an Australian Sydney-based electronic music band consisting of keyboardist Paul Mac, vocalist Yolanda Podolski and vocalist and bassist Warwick Factor. An early line-up included a second bass player. They formed in the late 1980s and initially recorded on the rooArt label. Their first release was the track "Heaven" which was included on rooArt's 1990 Young Blood 3 new artists sampler.
The Lab's early work was characterised by a dense, darkwave-industrial sensibility mixed with techno and synthpop elements with vocals provided by Factor and the operatically-trained Podolski. Their early sound displayed influences as varied as Cocteau Twins to Tackhead (whom they supported at a 1989 Sydney show) and New Order. Their sound was also influenced by the classical training of Mac and the operatically trained alto singer Podolski. Tom Ellard from Severed Heads helped produce an album during this era that was never released, and only a smattering of the darker material made its way on to the Ultra and Terminal EPs released in 1992 and 1993, respectively.
