Elite: Dangerous is a space adventure, trading, and combat simulator that is the fourth release in the Elite video game series. Piloting a spaceship, the player explores a realistic 1:1 scale open world galaxy based on the real Milky Way, with the gameplay being open-ended. The game is the first in the series to attempt to feature massively multiplayer gameplay, with players' actions affecting the narrative story of the game's persistent universe, while also retaining single player options. It is the sequel to Frontier: First Encounters, the third game in the Elite series, released in 1995.

Having been unable to agree to a funding deal with a publisher for many years, the developer began its Kickstarter campaign in November 2012. Pre-release test versions of the game had been available to backers since December 2013, and the final game was released for Windows on 16 December 2014, with the OS X version later released on 12 May 2015. A "preview" version of the game for Xbox One was later released via the Xbox Game Preview Program on 15 June 2015 during Microsoft's briefing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015, and was fully released on 6 October 2015, with a PlayStation 4 version potentially coming later after the timed exclusivity deal for Xbox One expires. Elite: Dangerous supports virtual reality devices such as the Oculus Rift. By the end of April 2015, Elite: Dangerous had sold over 500,000 copies, with Frontier Developments expected to generate £22 million from sales.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, often abridged as Last Week Tonight, is an American late-night talk and news satire television program airing on Sundays on HBO in the United States and HBO Canada, and on Mondays (originally Tuesdays) on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom. The half-hour long show premiered on Sunday, April 27, 2014, and is hosted by comedian John Oliver. Last Week Tonight shares some similarities with Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where Oliver was previously featured as a correspondent and fill-in host, as it takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events on a weekly basis.

Oliver has said that he has full creative freedom, including free rein to criticize corporations. His initial contract with HBO was for two years with an option for extension. In February 2015, it was announced that the show has been renewed for two additional seasons of 35 episodes each. Oliver and HBO programming president Michael Lombardo have discussed extending the show from half an hour to a full hour and airing more than once a week after Oliver "gets his feet under him".

What's up everybody! Check out this quick video review of the Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f3.5 Macro Zoom lens adapted to the Sony A6000 mirrorless camera. I found the lens in the showcase section of my local thrift store. Many times these thrift stores like to price their lenses based on size, but they made an exception for this one, because it was selling for only $6. I went ahead and purchased the lens and I am very happy that I did:) In exchange for my hard earned cash I received the lens with its front and rear caps. The Vivitar Series 1 is a fairly popular lens, but if you you haven't seen it before let me share a few details you: This lens was made in Japan, it's very solidly built, and is constructed of metal, hard plastic, and rubber (focusing grip). It's stylized similar to other FD lenses, with a green, white, and yellow color way. It weighs in at 2 pounds 2 ounces and sits 6 3/4 inches tall. Focusing is smooth and will take you a half turn to go from infinity to a minimum focusing distinct of 7 feet. There is also a macro switch on this lens that will bring you in even closer. The aperture starts at f22 and opens up to a bright f3.5. Six aperture blades produce hexagon shaped bokeh. I'm adapting the lens using a K&F; Concept Adapter I bought from Amazon for about $15 (see link below). The adapter is the magical piece of metal that allows us to use these old lenses on our new cameras. In this case I'm using an adapter that converts the Canon FD Mount to the Sony NEX/E-Mount, it's labeled (FD-NEX). The FD mount is a little tricky in that it requires you to throw an extra open/close switch on the adapter before you can adjust the aperture. In this video we'll take a closer look at the lens design, show how to operate the focus and aperture rings, adapt the lens, and run out and get some sample photos and videos. There are so many reason to like these old lenses. Skip to 2:21 for the aftermath. I'm back breaking my old TNT ball record this. I was going to provide a download but I accidentally deleted it before uploading anything so that won't be happening. "Minecraft - Even Bigger Ball o' TNT" is the sequel to "Minecraft - Big Ball o' TNT ". The video is fake because if you notice, most of the hole is made up of smaller holes that somehow look like perfect spheres, the kind of thing that could be easily done with a program like MCEdit. Second for some reason the water around the hole is not flowing, meaning that the area around it must have been replaced with Air without updating the water blocks to make them flow, an effect only possible with a program like MCEdit. Next note that the water that doesn't flow around the hole is only around the hole, and not above it, let me remind you that TNT cannot destroy water. And last note the missing Bedrock, which he claimed the TNT blew through, Bedrock cannot be blown through by TNT not because it would crash the game if you had enough but because you cannot deliver enough damage in the same instance to destroy Bedrock. So how did he remove it? Well note that there is a perfect spherical hole running up to the the Bedrock, which is exactly what you would see if he just went in with the MCEdit sphere tool. The world was generated with Beta 1.7.3 terrain using a mod that allows it. The ball was inserted into the world using MCEdit. The video was recorded using Screenflow on a mac and then converted to .MP4 by running it through Adobe After Effects and then finally edited on Sony Vegas (run on a Virtual Machine). The final product was then test uploaded to pinpoint the thumbnail Youtube chose and then adjusted and re-rendered and then uploaded to what you see here. EDIT: Original video was published March 28th of this year but an error developed that stopped some people from being able to watch it. Republished August 25th 2012! I apologize about not distributing the map but I have no way of recovering the world. If there's a demand though I'll consider making another video like this and if I do so I'll try and be more thorough about saving the map.

Ich weiß: es ist nicht alles für den Alltag relevant, aber eine simple Multiplikation hilft da schon manchmal weiter und bringt einen voran, sodass man ein paar Probleme lösen kann. Deswegen geht es hier um paar einfache Sachen, die einfach das Leben manchmal einfacher machen. Es kann ja sein, du willst nach London in den Urlaub fliegen doch um da ganz entspannt deinen Flieger noch zu kriegen, musst du vorher 32km über die Autobahn und kannst durchschnittlich 80km/h fahren Nun kann man sich fragen: "Wie lange dauert das?" und, wenn du die Zeit planen willst, dann brauchst du sowas und für die Zeit stehen im km/h die Stunden da nur leider stehen die unter nem Bruchstrich und naja da teilen wir einfach durch die km/h und dann dreht sich das um und diese Division ist gar nicht mal so dumm, weil sich die Kilometer dadurch nämlich gegenseitig aufheben und dadurch können wir jetzt live miterleben, wie man einfach nur durch Division die Zeit erhält, wobei mir 0,4 Stunden nicht so ganz gefällt. Da nehm ich lieber noch mal 60 Minuten pro Stunden und hab mit 24 Minuten dann die Zeit gefunden. Für London hast du dich gut informiert und da gilt vielleicht... was weiß ich grade ein Pfund sind ein Euro 37. Also als Umrechnungsfaktor haben wir eins Komma drei sieben Euro je Pfund und können jetzt nach unseren Vorlieben umrechnen. Zum Beispiel siehst du ein paar Schuhe und denkst: 60 Pfund! Ja, das ist doch voll gut, eh! Doch warte erst mal ab, bis du den Preis in Euro kennst, wozu du einfach jetzt unseren Faktor nimmst. Da kürzen sich die Pfund weg und das macht gut 82 Euro. Da wirken diese Schuhe doch auch irgendwo schon teurer... Mehr als 70 Euro willst du da eigentlich nicht ausgeben. Wie viele Pfund das sind, musst du noch überlegen. Für diese andre Richtung nimmst du einfach nur die Division. Dabei kürzen sich die Euro raus und dadurch siehst du schon: Das sind etwa 51 Pfund und daher weißt du jetzt, wie das alles geht, wenn du dich dann mal in den Flieger setzt.

Secret Service Employee on VP Detail Suspended, Charged With Solicitation

The Secret Service said that they suspended an employee after a news report was released detailing that he was charged with soliciting a prostitute while on a detail for Vice President Mike Pence, according to NBC News. "The Secret Service takes allegations of criminal activity very seriously. This matter is being investigated by our Office of Professional Responsibility to determine the facts," the spokesperson said....
