Saundra Franklin - JUST A LITTLE TOUCH OF YOUR LOVE (Russ Titelman) (1964)

COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Guyden
2106) This lovely piece of girl pop just happens to be RUSS TITELMAN'S first recorded composition
. In the fall of
1963 and with a $1,000.00 loan from the father of a friend, he booked session time at
Hollywood's
Gold Star Studio. He hired arranger,
Gene Page and he along with
Gene's brother
Billy, played most of the instruments and had smokey voiced, Saudra
Franklin on lead vocals. While the song was eventually issued in the spring of
1964 on Guyden
Records, Titelman wasn't pleased with it since according to him, there was a tonal
error in the master. (These ears don't hear it.) It was after this recording he moved to
New York and began writing with
Barry Mann &
Cynthia Weil and
Gerry Goffin.
