The Offence with Sean Connery Filmed In Bracknell 1972.
The film Offence was filmed in Bracknell in 1972.
If you have lived in Bracknell like me, you will love this.
I made a small 14 mins long film and edited everything out apart from all the shots done in Bracknell.
Most of the outdoor parts were made at Mill Pond and the old Bracknell town so keep an eye on all the background shots and you will recognise everything.

Romuald Karmakar's list of "Films you should see before it's too late" (8): THE OFFENCE. Sidney Lumet (GB/USA, 1972).
Sich mit diesem Film zu beschäftigen, kann viele schöne Gründe haben:
1. Sidney Lumet. Der 1924 geborene Regisseur von Meisterwerken wie DOG DAY AFTERNOON, SERPICO, PRINCE OF THE CITY, NETWORK oder TWELVE ANGRY MEN ist einer der wichtigsten, für mich einer der inspirierendsten, lebenden Regisseure auf unserem Planeten. Da sein Kino immer weniger an unser Filmrezeptionsmuster anschlussfähig zu sein scheint, sein letzter Film BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOURRE DEAD (2007) ist bei uns nur mit wenigen Kopien gelaufen, soll jede Möglichkeit genutzt werden, Lumets „body of work mit den bescheidenen Mitteln, die wir haben, hoch- und wachzuhalten.
2. Sean Connery. Mir ist kein Film bekannt, in dem er jemals besser gespielt hat, zudem in einer Rolle, die entgegengesetzt zu dem angelegt ist, was ihn so berühmt und bis heute so beliebt macht.
3. Großartige "supporting actors". Neben Vivien Merchant und Trevor Howard (wie er sich in seiner ersten Szene an den Tisch setzt!) ist hier vor allem Ian Bannen zu entdecken (wie er eingeführt wird!). Dieser schmächtige, feingliedrige Mensch ist ein schauspielerisches Tier.
4. Maximale Intensität. Dazu braucht Lumet nur wenige Schauspieler, zwei Stühle, einen Tisch, reduzierte Dekors.
5. Vernehmungen. Hier kann man wunderbar studieren, wie man so was filmt.
6. Sound Design. Gleich am Anfang hören und sehen wir (siehe Clip!), was für den ganzen Film gilt: die analog hergestellte Tondramaturgie arbeitet immer als Teil und im Sinne der Regie.
7. Architektur. Die britischen Neubausiedlungen der 60er Jahre, auch die Innenstadt aus Glas, Stahl und Beton, werden wie ein heimlicher Hauptdarsteller gefilmt.
8. Montage. Es ist außergewöhnlich, wie „previews" und „flashbacks" die chronologische Erzählebene unterbrechen, Szenen wiederholt werden und beim zweiten Durchlauf die jeweilige Geschichte, aber auch die gesamte Filmhandlung in eine neue Richtung lenken.
9. Theaterverfilmung. Hochinteressant zu sehen, wie Lumet das Stück „This Story of Yours" von John Hopkins von 1968 adaptiert hat.
10. Einen Aspekt von SEIN LEBEN IN MEINER GEWALT (dt. Verleihtitel), der mir so außerordentlich erscheint, beschreibe ich hier:

Sean Connery
Sir Thomas Sean Connery (/ˈʃɔːn ˈkɒnəri/; born 25 August 1930) is a retired Scottish actor and producer who has won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one of them being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award) and three Golden Globes (including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award). He was knighted by Elizabeth II in July 2000 and received the Kennedy Center Honors in the US.
Connery is best known for portraying the character James Bond, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His film career also includes such films as Marnie, The Name of the Rose, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October, Highlander, Murder on the Orient Express, Dragonheart, and The Rock.
Connery has been polled as "The Greatest Living Scot" and "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". In 1989, he was proclaimed "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine, and in 1999, at age 69, he was voted "Sexiest Man of the Century".

Billy Graham
William Franklin "Billy" Graham, Jr., KBE (born November 7, 1918) is an American evangelical Christian evangelist, ordained as a Southern Baptist minister, who rose to celebrity status in 1949 reaching a core constituency of middle-class, moderately conservative Protestants. He held large indoor and outdoor rallies; sermons were broadcast on radio and television, some still being re-broadcast today. In his six decades of television, Graham is principally known for hosting the annual Billy Graham Crusades, which he began in 1947, until he concluded in 2005, at the time of his retirement. He also hosted the popular radio show Hour of Decision from 1950 to 1954.
Graham was a spiritual adviser to several American presidents; he was particularly close to Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson (who was considered to be one of Graham's closest friends) and Richard Nixon. He insisted on integration for his revivals and crusades in 1953 and invited Martin Luther King, Jr. to preach jointly at a revival in New York City in 1957. Graham bailed King out of jail in the 1960s when King was arrested in demonstrations. He was also lifelong friends with another televangelist, Robert H. Schuller, whom Graham talked into doing his own television ministry in Garden Grove, California, from 1970 until Schuller's retirement in 2010 (who was the longest-serving minister of the telecast), from the Neutra Sanctuary, after Schuller visited him in 1969, at an Anaheim Convention Center for one of his crusades.

If you have lived in Bracknell like me, you will love this.
I made a small 14 mins long film and edited everything out apart from all the shots done in Bracknell.
Most of the outdoor parts were made at Mill Pond and the old Bracknell town so keep an eye on all the background shots and you will recognise everything.

Sich mit diesem Film zu beschäftigen, kann viele schöne Gründe haben:
1. Sidney Lumet. Der 1924 geborene Regisseur von Meisterwerken wie DOG DAY AFTERNOON, SERPICO, PRINCE OF THE CITY, NETWORK oder TWELVE ANGRY MEN ist einer der wichtigsten, für mich einer der inspirierendsten, lebenden Regisseure auf unserem Planeten. Da sein Kino immer weniger an unser Filmrezeptionsmuster anschlussfähig zu sein scheint, sein letzter Film BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOURRE DEAD (2007) ist bei uns nur mit wenigen Kopien gelaufen, soll jede Möglichkeit genutzt werden, Lumets „body of work mit den bescheidenen Mitteln, die wir haben, hoch- und wachzuhalten.
2. Sean Connery. Mir ist kein Film bekannt, in dem er jemals besser gespielt hat, zudem in einer Rolle, die entgegengesetzt zu dem angelegt ist, was ihn so berühmt und bis heute so beliebt macht.
3. Großartige "supporting actors". Neben Vivien Merchant und Trevor Howard (wie er sich in seiner ersten Szene an den Tisch setzt!) ist hier vor allem Ian Bannen zu entdecken (wie er eingeführt wird!). Dieser schmächtige, feingliedrige Mensch ist ein schauspielerisches Tier.
4. Maximale Intensität. Dazu braucht Lumet nur wenige Schauspieler, zwei Stühle, einen Tisch, reduzierte Dekors.
5. Vernehmungen. Hier kann man wunderbar studieren, wie man so was filmt.
6. Sound Design. Gleich am Anfang hören und sehen wir (siehe Clip!), was für den ganzen Film gilt: die analog hergestellte Tondramaturgie arbeitet immer als Teil und im Sinne der Regie.
7. Architektur. Die britischen Neubausiedlungen der 60er Jahre, auch die Innenstadt aus Glas, Stahl und Beton, werden wie ein heimlicher Hauptdarsteller gefilmt.
8. Montage. Es ist außergewöhnlich, wie „previews" und „flashbacks" die chronologische Erzählebene unterbrechen, Szenen wiederholt werden und beim zweiten Durchlauf die jeweilige Geschichte, aber auch die gesamte Filmhandlung in eine neue Richtung lenken.
9. Theaterverfilmung. Hochinteressant zu sehen, wie Lumet das Stück „This Story of Yours" von John Hopkins von 1968 adaptiert hat.
