Lupita Nyong'o is a Kenyan actress and filmmaker. She was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and raised in Kenya. She graduated from Yale School of Drama's acting program.[1] She starred in the Kenyan television series Shuga. In 2009, she wrote, directed, and produced the documentary In My Genes, about the treatment of Kenya's albino population. She will appear in Steve McQueen's upcoming film, 12 Years a Slave.
